HP announces ultrathin 13.3-inch Chromebook

michellhilton.com/2016/04/hp-anuncia-chromebook-ultrafino-13-com-intel-core-m.html

You'll never make me move to chromebook fuck the lack of superkey my workflow depends on that shit

>chrome
Oh, cool. We get to see pure cancer in the form of a laptop.

>HP
>Chromebook
It's like shit covered in more shit.

If you use crouton, the search key becomes the super key

What's the purpose if you can't use it as paperweight anymore?

HPs website is probably the most cancerous piece of shit website I have ever seen.
I wonder how anyone can buy their products without going insane trying to use that piece of shit frustrating to fucking browse website.

Nice.

I'm really pleased with my HP14; I'd consider this depending on the specs.

As long as they retain the battery life and it has at least 4GB RAM it looks like a slick little machine

>core m
into the trash it goes

Oh look, another Macbook clone but this one doesn't even have a real OS. Also 16:9 screen ... how much will it cost?

Pretty much all of the websites are cancer, at Apple it takes too long to get to the product, Winshi manufactures try to sell you loads of bloatware and got cancerous navigation.

>he wants to edit 4K porn on his LAPTOP

> tfw twitter lags on core m
> tfw yt is unscrollable
Yee man

Sounds like issues with software. Basically same reason phones with 4GB RAM and 820 Shitdragon manage to lag. Or Skype performing shit on ... literally every system.

Though from personal experience, I never had issues with Jewtube, not with scrolling, not with playing 1080p/60fps/4K videos.

Directly it's a JS issue and actually chromebooks should be really performant here. Even JIT in JS didn't help it at all kek.
But yeah, nonetheless it will not run comfortably on core m :c

Why would people buy a chromebook?

Core M is the best passive-cooling/low-power-consumption chip. tbħ it's probably overkill for Chrome OS

I wish that fucking brushed metal finish was made illegal. It's a secure way to make your products look like some tacky piece of shit from ten years ago.

Products didn't look like that ten years ago.

It's timeless, faggot. Pretty much like mate Chinkpad plastic.

What is it with everything beeing so thin? are computers getting thinner because our waistlines are growing?

>horribly underpowered trash with a gimped keyboard and gimped storage
why, user?

Light, thin, powerful, low cost.

They're actually fantastic home machines:

I dick around in ChromeOS for email and streaming things via Chromecast.

If I'm programming I just hotkey over to the Xubuntu chroot and I've got Atom and Eclipse and anything else I need.

I pretty much use mine as my couch or patio machine if I'm casually messing around and don't want to be downstairs in the office on the desktop.

Also, it only would have cost $350, but instead I just cashed in some Air Miles for it.

>Chromebook

trash

this

chromebooks are great shitposting machines, i have an Acer CB3 which i got for 100$ on black friday, 2gb of ram, 16gb ssd, and a 2.6ghz celeron
sounds like garbage, but for 100$ i cant complain, and its pretty fast, good for things like youtube, browsing Sup Forums and coding with caret

Confirmed for horrible taste.

Why don't the use the new cool as shit hp logo?

>programming/coding with a chromebook keyboard

Holy shit that looks amazing

>11.5 hrs battery
>4K
>12.9mm
lies and slander

if they aren't lying, goddamn the next laptop refresh cycle is going to be amazing

Non issue for me.

If you want to be real about it, the limiting factor on my programming is not, and is never going to be, the speed at which I'm typing.

My programming is pretty methodically typed and I'm busy making sure I'm sending the right variables to the right functions and thinking of the next move...

... not keyboard mashing like I'm going to be credited as 'Computer Forensics Expert #2' for my IP trace scene at the end of a CSI or NCIS episode.

I can't speak to other Chromebooks, but I actually really like the HP14 keyboard.

Retina Macbook manages similar battery life with a real OS. Chrome OS is probably lighter on hardware so it should be doable.

Cool story but
>no apple
no buy

>bought a $90 like new 13.3 Toshiba 3120 chromebook on ebay

Why pay more than $100 for a chromebook?
This chromebook works well, has 2955u processor. Can have 10+ tabs open at one time without any lag. Plays 1080p videos just fine.

Everyone, at least on Sup Forums should have a desktop. The only thing that matter on a laptop are portability and portable usability; spec wise this translates to a machine that is small, lightweight, has great battery life, has comfortable ergonomics, and can browse the Web, edit text, and consume media with ease

This is why premium shitposting and Facebook machines exist: because this is what laptops are good for, so they are making laptops that are good at being laptops. The MacBook, chromebook pixel, etc are not retarded but rather extremely useful. In fact you wish you had one and done deny it.

>not shitposting on Sup Forums exclusively outside
look at this nerd with all his power going unused 99% of the time

I'm honestly kind of surprised that theres still this much commitment to the chromeOS platform.

The local electronics stores near me have bailed on the google display they used to have and have only the cheapest 11" chromebook on display.

No one will ever care about your opinion Sup Forums, people will buy what they are advertised and sometimes even what is good for them, not what some dumb Sup Forums memes.

It just werks.

tied to the desk is ass

Why are HP calculators such a loved meme on Sup Forums but not their laptop?

Because you can get Chromebooks for $350 that can be upgraded to 16GB RAM, and use it for more than just browsing?

It's a manufacturer built Linux machine.

LIJI?
