I hope this is a troll. These things can be gotten for almost brand new for $800.
You should never spend more than $500 on any secondhand laptop device unless you know your market and stand to make profits by reselling it. A quick google for this laptop with it's name alone returns results of issues with components no longer working (trackpad, keyboard, wifi, display) plus the nVidia driver that kills it's panel.

Yes you did well. My gf has a similar model with an i5 and it can play a ton of shit, you just have to turn newer games down a bit if playing 1080p on an ext monitor. Also, i think your screen is 1366x768 so unless you play on a monitor you can pretty much play anything on high. I would have made the same deal...$400 on newegg gets you half the laptop you got
