Do any of other techies dislike corporate culture?

It doesn't matter if you work for google, microsoft, amazon, etc and an amazing coder. you have program managers, ISO compliancy, red tape, marketing people inventing meaningless words, sales people, brown nosers, directors that are in high up positions who are non-technical etc.

Does anyone dislike this culture?

>working
>willingly being a slave

...

Accounts folk should be shot: their job is to deny requests to buy $10 of ball pens because the $1m budget "doesn't make provision for it"

But the deepest circle of hell must be reserved for HR- purposeless harassment has Kafkaesque insanities are there two positive features. Fuck them all to hell

NEET life for lyfe my brother. Society can kiss my ass.

I'm in so many meetings at work I can't get work done until after hours. Can't even get lunch.

>wake up 7am for work
>take a shower, eat breakfast, commute to work, traffic
>work 8 hours plus an hour for lunch
>commute home, traffic
>work related activities have taken up 10+ hours of my day already
>have to spend time at home doing adult shit, like cleaning, walking dog, cooking dinner
>it's like 8pm already
>so exhausted from dealing with people's bullshit all day that I'm too tired to do any fun personal projects
>resort to fapping and playing video games to get some dopamine in my life
>do this for 2-3 hours
>have to go to bed now or I'll feel like shit when I wake up early
>mfw I only have 2-3 hours a day that are actually mine
>rinse and repeat for 40 years

what a life. so glad I can work extra hard so my boss's boss's boss can get that much closer to obtaining his second yacht this summer.

how to neetbux?

pls respond

live with parent, pretty much the only way. NEET's require only the very basics:

>food
>roof over their head
>internet access

I work for Thermo Fisher Scientific. Our team leader is actually very knowledgeable on what we do and I don't have to interact with sales people so no complaints there either. Overall by far the best place I've worked at..

NEETs are a modern day Socrates. We are the brightest minds developing top quality software and challenging the biggest theories of our time.

hey neat, I almost took a job in Plano. How do you enjoy the horrible DFW traffic?

not technology related.

something something parasitic lifestyle

>technology culture is not technology related

I visit our offices in the States once in a while, but I'm based in Europe. You know TMO has offices in like 50 countries..

NEETs are not parasites, those are jew lies

>40 years
You can retire in 10 years off a Software Engineer salary. Also you're retarded if you live more than 15 minutes away from work.

Nope had no idea. I just googled it and google returned the location closest to my region. Never heard of the company so I assumed it was regional.

same here man. i'm tired of not having any personal time.

You can retire now by signing up for welfare, it's your right.

It's a Fortune 500 company and the largest biotech company in the world ;)

sounds fun. like one long summer break

Stop being a cuck and stop working, corporations are not people.

I'm not black and have no children.

still haven't heard of it, but it's good? that you're so proud of the companies achievements

you can only do this if your net worth is less than $2000 or whatever.
heh, i actually relocated to DFW to look for work. I took one look at the traffic and NOPE'd the fuck out of there.

>Also you're retarded if you live more than 15 minutes away from work.

You sound like someone who lives in a major metropolitan area. Unfortunately the world isn't that black and white user :). Some people don't live 2 blocks away from a great tech job, and because of real life circumstances can't move away.

But it's useless explaining these things to you. It sounds like you've living in a bubble and don't realize how the majority of the real world operates.

Boohoo I'm sorry you fell for the mortgage jew and can't pay a realaor 6% to sell your house.

being a NEET kinda sucks but it doesn't suck as much as having very little "me" time for 40 years as was said elsewhere.

the big issue is if something happens to your parent or whoever the financier is. you'll get real homeless real fast, unless that motivates you to get a job, which it always does.

Works for me. Our company is doing great, i.e. stock price is constantly at ATH. Also, job security is nice and I can apply to open positions in other countries if I feel like moving..

That's until the NEET runs out of money and kills himself.

I live in suburbs right now, but want to live in a major city someday and not rely on the gasoline jew and potentially have my money go to muslin nations

i'm lucky to live somewhere i can commute 5 minutes to work.
some cities you can't do that. Tuscon for example is a 45 minute minimum commute time if you work for Raytheon

Live in your truck parked in the company lot.

I'm and ME with a bio-med interest whos been looking for a better job. Local branch has an opening Im qualified for.

Will apply. Thanks

I'm going to inherit parents money and spend the rest of my life buying steam games

For me it's also like 5 min..

t. My last job was like 1.5h both ways. What a fucking nightmare.

>boasting about your companies stock prices

that's all thanks to you huh? I doubt it. Pretty funny that you take so much pride in the achievements of others.

tribalism ftw

>Work for large semiconductor company on a rotational program
>pretty much an intern making full time engineer wages for two years

I hit the jackpot brehs. I don't hang around to learn anything deep enough to have a super hard project and still get paid top wages. And when I do start a permanent role ill have more experience than other new employees.

But I do dislike the corporate culture since salaried positions always pay for a minimum of 40 hours of your time. I've started looking at financial independence and I feel that by being frugal I can retire at 45.

So I guess its time to minimize my time at a american consumerist wagecuck forum like this one :^)

>i actually relocated to DFW to look for work. I took one look at the traffic and NOPE'd the fuck out of there

yeah, it's ridiculous. Sounds like some of these anons live in a cities where the city planner actually thought ahead. In DFW, driving 10 miles at 8am takes about 1.5 hours some days. It's really fucking bad.

I work with people in different time zones. So often times I have to work after hours. I don't have much time to do anything after I get home so I sacrifice sleep to do my own personal self-studies. I'm planning to leave industry and go into a PhD program. Company is letting me take classes on the side for 'training' but I'm using it to prep. Once I am sufficiently prepped I'm going into academia. I plan to go back into industry after... but it's a tough decision.

On one hand I make a very good salary but have almost no personal time and I feel like my brain cells are dying and I'm surrounded by A+ personalities that could do the same job for 40+ years and on the other hand I want to do academic research and get a PhD.... sometimes you have to do what you want.

DART master race. Its a fucking luxury compared to the shit I put up with in Chicago. And they rarely even check tickets so fuck me for buying the annual price

yeah I need to get on that

I only mentioned it from job security perspective. Company is doing better than ever, thus it's unlikely that there will be mass layoffs any time soon. Not like e.g. Apple, they're going to layoff thousands to tens of thousands of people in the coming years now that iphone peaked and they have nothing else going for them..

lol, the bus is for poor people. Get a car.

>sometimes you have to do what you want.

Life is short, I'd say 'most of the time you should do what you want'

i think DFW is just an example of how pure car transportation doesn't scale to cities.
DFW should have a rail system, a subway, and taxis to get you to the last mile. instead they have 200 toll roads and 8 layers of overlaying highways.
I just kept thinking how painful it would be to go to interviews in that mess, and if you miss your exit you're fucked if you don't already know the area.

Thanks man. It's difficult, once you start making a decent salary you get comfortable. I want intellectual pursuit. That is my passion.

Is that why the absolute wealthiest people have drivers? If anything, only the wagecucks own costly, rapidly depreciating assets like cars. :^)

it has a rail system now (the DART) that's fairly new and getting better, and there are DART buses, but yeah. they need a *lot* more.

I don't think anyone expected DFW to get as big as it has.

>The metroplex encompasses 9,286 square miles (24,100 km2) of total area: 8,991 sq mi (23,290 km2) is land, while 295 sq mi (760 km2) is water, making it larger in area than the U.S. states of Rhode Island and Connecticut combined.

NEET's would be great for human farming. They are very useless and dumb. They are like cows. Society is being drained by them, so we should round them up and confine them in small rooms hooked up to IV's to use their blood for saving lives. Once drained we put them in acid to reduce space.

If you guys want to end wage slavery, vote for Bernie Sanders

This. I watch the morning news and there's at least 15 accidents a day. Texas police just love shutting down entire highways when a couple lanes would do

you had me up until use their blood to save lives

they'll be hooked up and used as processing power, like in the matrix (the original plot)

I don't give a fuck about society

Thing is, nobody cares about NEETs. I don't even consider them to be people. Sub human.

NEETs like me are smarter than n you, slave.

Except their bodies are low functioning and wouldn't provide much in power. Could we use their fat as insulation?

the thing about NEETs is that they're so bubbled, they don't care about what others think.
so you're free to spew your disgust, but it's not going to impact your target audience in any way.

You can't change a NEET's mind, but you can forcably remove them from their dwelling and use them for something more useful.

>dallas land area is bigger than rhode island and connecticut combined

You speak as though you're an authority figure, but you're just coming off as delusional. I think you've been reading too many dystopian novels, user.

>tfw jobless and cannot get NEETbux
>tfw closest job offers are 1 hour driving away and probably shitty as hell

At some point I wonder if working at the garbage plant isn't a better idea. Last time I heard they actually make a half-decent pay and there's no afterhours bullshit.

I am not an authority. I can however fantasize about this particular class of sub human having what little they have destroyed.

Wagies are delusional because they think they owe society anything.

I heard "undesirable" jobs like garbage workers can actually pay a pretty good amount of money. Try to see if you can find any sanitation jobs with the state for sweet benefits.

>At some point I wonder if working at the garbage plant isn't a better idea. Last time I heard they actually make a half-decent pay and there's no afterhours bullshit.

honestly dude I think that's a key.

>work a shitty job
>it's a zero stress job
>you don't take your work home with you
>more time to do what you want

even if the pay isn't the greatest - if you're single with no dependents, you can live comfortably.

Wouldn't recommend the garbage plant.
You just never get used to that smell

Garbage men are paid well where I live and have good benefits.

jobs with a high health risk always pay more. hazard pay. even if you're just driving a garbage truck with a robotic arm and never actually touch garbage.

>work data entry job
>don't have to talk to anyone
>listen to music and watch anime all day
>go home repeat

>I come along and use my l33t programming skills to automate your super simple job

now what, user?

Don't give a shit.

Actually that's the one thing about me, I grew up near farms. Years of smelling that fucking horse manure every summer pretty much made me immune to stench.

If you live this life for 40 years you're an unskilled retard. Your life sounds like an entry level or dead end lifestyle.

That's not to say that the grind wont eat more of your waking hours than it leaves for you, but:

You should not live more than 10-15 minutes from your job. If you have to because of financial restraints, you need to work towards a better job.

Your job should not have an unpaid lunch. If you get hourly and have a mandated lunch time, you need to work towards a better job.

If you have to do all your cleaning yourself and can't afford a maid service for an hour a week to knock out most of your chores, you need to work towards a better job.

And so on. Yeah, the real world is going to take up 9 to 10 hours of your day five days a week until you retire. But if you worm a good job you should reasonably be able to do so in 20-25 years, not 40, and the work should be somewhat rewarding. You should get around 20 vacation days a year, find yourself a good wife, pursue hobbies, raise a family, and lead a fulfilling life. If you try. If you pick a good profession. If you apply yourself.

Me too senpai. I'm at my gayta entry job right now, using an upside down recycling bin as an ottoman, punching this out on my phone because they block Sup Forums.

I'm working towards becoming a front end developer. But in the mean time this pays the bills and is barely a job.

I sift through address change requests and make changes as necessary. On like week two I wrote a few scripts that do 95% of my work for me, so now I pretty much just watch anime and listen to podcasts all day and dick around on a web app project. I'm about a month ahead of schedule at the moment.

I'm watching Eden of the East on Hulu right now. Earlier this week I watched Trigun, the Trigun movie, and the first season of Assassination Classroom. I worry that if I don't watch all the anime I've ever wanted to see now, I won't be able to when I get a real job.

did you ever find any shrooms

There's plenty of them in the nearby woods. Most of them are disgusting or poisonous though.

I don't mind enterprise IT culture.

I do mind the braindead twats who work 99% of the jobs that I have to work with.

faggot
I work for a pretty big corporate (over 55k work here globally) and
>wake up at 5am fresh because i'm already used to it
>get ready in 15 minutes
>get to work at 6am and enjoy free time because almost never happens the first two hours
>sit and do my job, enjoy chill cool coworkers in the cubicle hell (it's actually comfy to work instead of small offices where you're locked in with 1-2 other people
>spend almost an hour at launch even though it should be 30 minutes only (by law/corporate rules)
>leave at 2.30 or sometimes sooner if i had a quicker launch time (company doesn't track the time you come/leave, teamlead/dep.manager being the only people that care, and they are cool people too
>have time to stop at shop for food and get back home at 3pm something
>have almost 9 hours for myself, gf, socialising with flatmates/friends, adult shit (which barely takes an hour) not counting taking out the dog because i have no fucking problem to take out the dog for half an hour instead of treating it like an useless baggage
>get 5 and something hour sleep which is more then enough

the only difference is switching stuff I do every month, since my shifts are changing every month to morning, late afternoon, night; repeat - and even with those i feel no stress at all

you mad, user?
I mean, the only "problem" is, that I'm being outsourced there by a different company, so my paycheck is a little smaller instead of the people that work here directly (but being balanced out by benefits anyway) - and most of the people transfer from being outsourced to direct workers in a year or so

based

Work for an engineering company. I work at a car factory as an engineer and do 7am-4.50pm monday to thursday, then A THREE DAY WEEKEND MOTHERFUCKER

>>get 5 and something hour sleep which is more then enough

Move closer to work, it mat cost more, but the extra 30 - 60 minutes of free time every day of the week is huge. Some of my coworkers live 45 minutes away. That is an hour and a half a day, or 7 hours of wasted time a week.

Never live more than 10-15 minutes (calculated at rush hour) from work.

...

start your own company, make your own culture

Omg thanks for the laugh holy.

That's why you get a job that's not too demanding, even though the pay is not high.

More of your own time to enjoy. Hack for fun, not for money.
