But it has great reviews

It gets more stuff right than normal shows but some of it is dramatized

tbbt has great reviews too and its the shittiest show under the sun

Person of interest was better

It does it better than most shows though. It's all *possible*, not likely, but possible.

Better than most, but not 100% realistic.

Trigger warning applies.

As good as it's going to get, not 100% accurate but not bat shit insane

Very real.

Also, just the Sup Forums and Sup Forums references were enough to have me like it.

If it would be realistic nobody would watch it because who the fuck would watch the normal life of a Sup Forums lurker?

as real as it could be without being 10 hours of some fat neckbeard pissing in a bottle between smashing his keyboard and mumbling about my little pony characters as he hacks into banking institutes.

That said

>Oh you use guhnome? I use kay dee eee. I know guhnome is supposed to be better, but you know what they say. Old habits die hard
Literally could have used zsh and bash as drop in replacements and it would have been 100 times less stupid

Shit.
>Password cracking
>ping

>chmod
>Invalid syntax

>"I see your running GNOME!"
>Not even GNOME

It's realistic in the sense linux is mentioned and they use real commands sometimes.

The final masterplan was little ridiculous. Can you really encrypt all that data read-only tape? Instantly like that? I'm not an expert on that, but I imagine it isn't that feasible.

His character as a hacker was kinda realistic in the sense he's withdrawn, autistic and depressive. At least he wasn't a supermodel hacker.

It's wasn't GNOME because they would have had to pay a license fee to use it

>>"I see your running GNOME!"
>>Not even GNOME
His desktop wasn't shown in that scene, but the ones where his desktop was shown had him running Gnome 2.

>His character as a hacker was kinda realistic in the sense he's withdrawn, autistic and depressive. At least he wasn't a supermodel hacker.

And yet somehow hot chicks flock to him. All he says is "OK" and they all want to date him and do free drugs with him.
>hey lets do some MDMA and fuck
>hey lets smoke weed and watch your favorite movie

Wrong.

The actress was way too good-looking but her character was the bottom of the barrel as women go: trashy poor drug dealer.

Im 26 and what the Christ is this?

Google it you faggot

It's the tale of a Swedish man that can't tell the difference of Gnome from i3.

It also involves delicious wincest.

everybody dies in the end. the main character turns out to be a national socialist and recreates the final solution circa 1942

it was theoretically sound but realistic ? not at all.

The part I hated the most was the social engineering one when he goes on the spot personally. People work on plans like that for months, they did it in what seemed like 2 hours.

I did google it bitch and all I'm getting is some robot crap. Go to fuck

>who the fuck would watch the normal life of a Sup Forums lurker?
nobody. a Sup Forums lurker can't even come up with content himself. the junkie in the series is plenty more functional and able.

the good wife is more Sup Forums related fag

jesus christ that pic is terrifying

Real hackers don't use a graphical environment.

>some robot crap

Mr, I've got some news for you.

there's at least two fools on this thread that criticize the main character's lack of resemblance with themselves or whatever stereotyped Sup Forums user they decide to paint.

That's either crippling narcissism, ignorance (never watched the thing) or plain stupidity.

...

It was MATE

Realistic enough for TV. There's a threshold at which things stop being fun for normies and start being realistic.

Let's be Honest, Hacking probably isn't as fun as the TV sounds, if it's anything like coding, then you're kind of in a snoozefest, so you add dramatic elements and non-overtechnical terms or don't add every ounce of technical detail to provide excitement and not overload normies (also when researching, it's easier to avoid looking in how it works)

I was honestly impressed with it's first episode. didn't watch it, maybe i will catch up and watch S2

if you want some more realism in your TV and tech shit:

Watch Halt And Catch Fire season 1 - does a lot of the same, and the one main charachter is written as 13 year old in a 20-something year olds body in terms of whining, but the show was pretty well done technically and even had dramatic elements that were gripping.

Silicon valley, despite being a comedy has a lot of insane technical and workplace accuracy. it's not drama, but it's not trying to be.

i loved that show even when it went in a different direction. it was weird, but still interesting, and well written enough for me not to autodismiss it like a lot of shows that change directions.

what distro did elliot use at home?

im pretty sure it was xfce

oh, you

I think it was Kali.

I've seen silicon valley
Not bad, although I stopped watching tv

>the only reason they didn't use Windows or Mac instead of Linux is because of licensing costs

>KDE user fucks a dude in the ass to get promoted

Seems pretty realistic to me.

So the literal faggot uses KDE and the literal hacker uses Gnome.
Makes sense.

>hackers
>windows and mac
pick one
