The answer to that is

no

Yes.
Diagtrack service can be purged with linux live distro. It's responsible for collecting and submitting telemetry to ms servers.
Rest can be done through group policy.

Use Entreprise, nigger.

Just block every known microsoft domain and all IP-ranges in your router firewall, then use a Win10-AntiSpy like Destroy Windows10 Spying.

>fucking me in the ass

Well let me take a wild guess here. Sup Forums must have told you that. Yes? So what the fuck is with you listening to random advice on web? No? Then ask the one that told you.

DWS_lite
OOSU10

install gentoo.

The safest way is to use a router with IP white listing, but you will need to manually add all the trusted IP's you want to connect only. This shouldn't be too bothersome, unless you use big services with many domains like google, It's not wise to add big domains either.

You can't do this with a firewall since the OS could bypass it without your knowledge.

This. But make sure the router is at least 10 years old.

lmgtfy.com/?q=windows 10 tracking

It is even easier to run your system with no default route. use an ethernet wire to a cheap $30 openwrt router, install privoxy on it and be cautious when letting your browser of choice in on the proxy informations (so the OS doesn't know).

So? I use windows 10 for my work etc. I watch movies sometimes, browse web, check emails and that's that. I don't care tracking bullshit. They can do whatever the fuck they want. It doesn't affect me.

Yes please feed the corporations with more user data. I wont follow the other lemmings.

There's literally zero issue with feeding corporations data if user consents to it.

>what is EULA?

You accepted their terms user and so did I.

>muh privacy
>muh data
telemetry isn't spying and is in Windows since XP, you fucking tinfoil hat speglord

>what is EULA
A concept that has fine intent but is being used to spy on consumers for W10, I ain't accepting those terms.

It can affect you, you just haven't thought how could it affect you. Hint: You don't necessary need to do anything illegal or political related.

Anyways it's really not hard to just use W10 for video games and do everything else in a laptop, I connect my laptop to a big TV and watch stuff there. There is literally no reason to use W10 for movies, mail, web, anything else except video games.

Yes.
Install gentoo

Local account
Set telemetry to basic (you cannot disable it)
Disable everything on privacy settings (so they dont get what you search for, etc)

>i ain't accepting

EULA is the big fucking notice you should agree to before installing Microsoft or any other proprietary software. If you don't accept, the installation will not proceed. Now since you already have windows I assume you agreed to eula.

Nice insight user. But could Microsoft really give a fuck on what my political preferences are? I don't think I have anything illegal maybe few downloaded songs but who cares? Everyone might have downloaded them. Also I did not install windows 10, windows 8 upgraded itself.

>agreed to it
In button only, i'll disable whatever the hell I want on my OS because I don't want that shit.

>my OS
eh...

Put it in a vm running on a linux system.

Enterprise has the ability to turn basic usage statistics off if you are a tinfoil hat faggot

My hardware my rules, I really can't see how anyone in their right mind can actually accept the level of "telemetry" that goes in W10, even if you don't care about privacy it's system resources being taken up by someone making money off you, a bitcoin miner by any other name.

>It's alright to spy on users because we have the legal right for it
Thats the reason everybody hates lawers

No, it's impossible. Even if you disable the keylogging, the telemetry and all of the other spyware and malware which comes bundled with this operating system, it'll still spy on you. Windows also had a registry key called "NSA key" even way back on windows xp and NT. Stay away from Windows as much as possible.

It's not company I care about but the people behind. I don't want a a stranger to have access to everything I or my family does, information can be sell or used outside without the company consent.

>What is a router firewall?

Interesting point.

Why go through the fucking hassle? By the time you installed a router firewall, blocked IPs, installed scripts to remove shit from your OS yadda yadda, you could've just installed a not-shit OS like debian or gentoo.

stop being paranoid

>tfw installed enterprise ltsb n
>neptunia didn't work
>have to go back to pro

Just install the media pack retard.

This is what getting into computer security does to you :^(

The infrastructure to transgress is there, it just happens there is one a million chance to happen to you.

Cause muh games and video editing software?
I also already had OpenWRT set up so it was a matter of minutes to add some iptable rules and dnsmasq

>Sup Forums
yet full of tech illiterate people, also kill yourself weeb

How do I do this, is there some automated program or do I need to do it manually through the terminal?

For a normal person this tasks takes minutes and is not a hassle.

I know for you loonixusers collecting ips and adding them to a list might be a long complicated process bUT it's really not.

>They can do whatever the fuck they want.
what a fucking cuck

>there is literally no reason to use windows as long as you're not playing games
>there's literally no reason to play games as long as you're not 13
install gentoo or grow up

can you modify a dildo in such a way as to prevent it from going in your ass?

no, you faggot, you'll keep putting it in your ass no matter what you do to it

No. Microsoft loves backdoors, your's included.

>consents to it.

Without a proprietary alternative to Microsoft, this data collection is coercive.

did have a choice. Microsoft has established a monopoly on proprietary operating systems.

>you cannot disable it

yes you can. it's easy.

Sure, if you have the full source that MS uses to build Windows 10 you can modify it any way you'd like.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Proprietary_operating_systems

You are so fucking stupid. You are assuming the you are always going to be living in a free society. If at some point the United States becomes a totalitarian government you are automatically disqualifying yourself from joining any military resistance to that totalitarian regime because that regime would know every fucking little detail about you. Who your friends are, what text books you used in school.

If you were to ever join the resistance, you'd be a liability to it. By installing windows 10, you're making the prospect of the United States government become totalitarian more probable.

nice try

pastebin.com/N7uHpNDw

thanks!

Oh boy. Windows, and a whole bunch of other crap that's either ancient and not made for computers built in this century, meant to push mainframes/supercomps/clusters, is/was an experimental OS, or classified for governmental use only.

Much Windows.
Such choice.
Wow.

I'll bite.
Show me a Linux software that allows me to fix OCR errors in scanned pages and generate PDF files with the original scanned pages. Oh wait, there is none.
I'm keeping Acrobat and Windows, thanks.

There are a lot more problems than game incompability in Linux desktop world. A LOT more. In fact, game incompabilty is the smalest of the problems.

Linux is idiot proof now, much moreso than Windows. There's no reason to be on Windows outside of gaymen or AutoCAD.

This could easily be done inside of an unnetworked Windows VM or in WINE.

It's absurd to complain about Microsoft's abuses and then refuse to switch operating systems because of a single task that you infrequently perform, a task that could be performed on another OS with a bit of tweaking.

WINE sucks. You clearly only know about using WINE to game in theory and have never used it.

Gaming in Linux is not viable. The target market for all AAA video games being produced to day is males between the ages of 24 and 32.

lube up and enjoy the ride

I'm playing all my visual novels in wine without a problem.

>(so they dont get what you search for, etc)
Are you retarded?
Explain how you can search online without sending requests.

>I don't want a a stranger to have access to everything
That's why I "disabled" "spying" using software by some Russian I never met.

>it's a freetads sperg baseless accusations over w10 episode

>look at my buttplug guise xD i got it directly from microsoft

I can smell the curry through your post.

This is all you need to know: Microsoft pioneered the PRISM program and they give their source code to American and Israeli intelligence agencies. Any notion that their spying is used in a limited manner is an assault on common sense.

How is Microsoft fucking you in the ass?

But what about my Onion activities, senpai? Windows will tell on me and then I'll have to ride in the party van. pls no

Unless you have a job that is

If you're not doing anything illegal then why are you worried about the party van?

Freetards even got laughed off of reddit for being too dumb to understand font an OTF font is and thought it was a backdoor.
They deleted all their posts and accounts after they got linked to beinger regular linux sub posters.

>nuttin to hide

Oh you...

>Every known Microsoft domain
Because it only sends to known ones of course.

switch the kernel. Then adapt a fitting userland, windiw manager, etc.

why are freetards so pathetic

Meant for
Microsoft openly cooperates with a federal agencies whose institutional goal is "Collect it all." Their EULA explicitly gives them the power to collect all your information and disseminate it however they please. There is no backdoor, because they don't need one, Microsoft walks through the front door.

JTRIG, pls leave

Not what I asked. You're using Tor and you're worried about the party van. Why are you worried about the party van? Are you visiting sites that would get you arrested? You accessing content you shouldn't be accessing?

Illegal is such a strong word. I prefer morally compromising. So lets just assume, hypothetically, that there is some "minor" concern.

What are you doing on Tor?

let's start with that.

oh no, assuming all this mass surveillance and data gathering was true in the first place, microsoft would know some random autist in the middle of nowhere jerks it off to futa, we're doomed

Yes
Just use Disable Windows tracking, uninstall Cortana, and then install classic shell to restore the search menu and make it not gay.

Then, throw in the ability to not update automatically, and you're golden.

Perfectly legal and socially acceptable porn.

Or, conversely, you can just assume the worst.

Yeah, I always hide my traffic to mlp and d. No one must ever know my crimes.

Ok then why would someone who looks at legal and socially acceptable porn be worried about the "party van"? If someone is on tor and they're constantly afraid of a federal raid, then they're probably doing something shady. The FBI isn't going to start an investigation then an operation on someone who looks at regular ol porn

They admitted to cooperating with the NSA to implement Prism.

You're only making yourself look like a shill defending them.

It wasn't just that they cooperated, they were the first company to sign on and they routinely give the government access to bugs months before they're patched, as well as the entire source code for the OS.

We never admitted to that

Phew! Golly gee willickers mister, thanks for the 411 on that! I thought for sure the FBI was on the way to haul me away for looking at those online lingerie catalogues.

As thanks, can you give me all your personal information in this thread so that I might better pray for you? Leave nothing out. We don't want the lord and Santa to get confused.

No

Depends on what you understand by " prevent Microsoft from fucking me in the ass".

According to MS own articles, the lowest possible level of telemetry is so called "security level", officially only for Enterprise/Edu editions. It this setting, data being send to MS is limited to your device ID, device class (desktop, laptop, etc), OS version, MSRT report (not present if you disabled MSRT in general), Defender report (not present if you have any 3rd party AV installed and running - Defender will stay active if you dont, even disabled, it will turn back on anyway).

As you can see, the data is being send anyway, as the "Connected User Experience and Telemetry component settings" is always on - the content of the packages is controlled by settings. "If data has been gathered and is queued to be sent, the Connected User Experience and Telemetry component downloads its settings file from Microsoft’s servers.".

MSRT report can contain some private information, so it is suggested to turn it off as well.

There is also solution of killing the diagtrack service and adjusting some files to make it stay that way instead of restarting, so I cant say for sure if this really work, as I dont have running Win10 myself (I stay on 7).

Do you realize this doesn't work?

Yes it does, shill.

That's great, but the topic was proprietary OS choices.

It doesn't, parjeet. Edge for instance bypasses hosts if you block bing

Who would use Edge, but thanks for the warning.

Why would you limit yourself to a proprietary OS?

Rajeesh in full damage control mode. Thankfully, you get paid by the post.

I have no idea, they were arguing about whether or not MS had a monopoly on proprietary operating systems, and whether or not it was actionable if they did. Someone said yes, under the guise that Windows was the only choice in proprietary systems. Some other fucktarded moron then disagreed by linking a wiki article listing all sorts of proprietary systems, absolutely none of which are viable for home consumers. This was the post I replied to.
