You only have to know the very basics of using a text shell, and be able to follow instruction on a wiki.

Come on underageB&, you can do it.

>arch

Don't do it OP, you have so much to live for.

You don't need arch to rice your desktop, user. Just use ubuntu and install i3 or openbox as a secondary wm.

install dev1

>too dumb to install arch linux
literally how
it's like
10 commands
i can literally install arch blindfolded

LXQt mustard raice reporting in

i cant unsee the fat faggot

just install AntergOS. its the same thing (aka shit like all of linux)

Ugly and impractical.
The perfect rice.

Arch's Wiki is fairly thorough and should cover everything you need for installation and setup.

>Ugly and impractical.
elaborate

Show me one thing it does better than any other straight-from-install system.
Using Qt Framework is not relevant.

Also a transparent taskbar, why?

He's sitting there in the background...watching.

>I want to join a cool kids club!

great question user thank you for asking

i do agree most of the DEs are quite nice and choosing one over the other is more or less a personal preference
however (outside of KDE) LXQt makes choosing the look of Qt5 applications so easy and without additional dabling or frustrated googling
it also allows for some KDE applications to run normally which would not otherwise

the default panel theme is probably the best but this one looks nice overall don't you think

Recently I tried the latest version of LXQT, xfce, KDE (neon unstable).

And guess what, they finally did it. Plasma-desktop (not the whole KDE sc family) uses just little bit more of memory. (350megs).

Yes, a pretty damn good looking / feature full / future proof DE with pretty much same memory footprint.

Disk foot print is still very large.... but I just don't see a reason to continue using either xfce or lxqt (at this stage).

Please try out latest neon packages of plasma desktop....

Why not get smart faggot.

alias screenfetch=screenfetch -D 'Arch Linux' -A 'Arch Linux'

You're welcome. Use it plus the wiki.

wow

>alias screenfetch='screenfetch -D "Arch Linux" -A "Arch Linux"'

google ubuntu minimal

You don't need arch for that
I riced my old X11 ubuntu by starting awesome instead of the gnome DE

>tfw OP doesn't realise arch is a meme

>not the super shotty from doom

your images sucks fuck you cunt

Is that Maki?

>pacman: command not found
too bad.

>shitty apps guy
kys

Lmao this nigga.
They're 杳 and yuu from sakur trig

Damn this is nice for things that aren't immediately obvious on the wiki outside of the base install

look at the date.
dude that made it is also hated because he made other shitty infographics.

you tried architect install?

Just use ubuntu and photoshop an Arch Screenfetch in, I've been doing it for years, never been caught.

What about the date?

Mint looks better

the arch installation manual changes like once a week, the date from this picture is somewhere at the end of 2015. there is no point in making or using these pictures. the beginner guide is far superior. this is coming from a debian user.

>using photoshop as a verb
hey there freedom hating adobe enabler.

If I gimped it, I would have been found out years ago

>never been caught

Is that you, Kevin?

Nope. I'll give you a hint, I don't have anime in my desktop, hit me up next time

ebig mene. :DDDDDd
(also just use screenfetch -D "Arch Linux")

I'm the laziest and least patient individual in the world and I still managed to do it. After wasting hours of attempting to install it of course. You don't even need arch for that shit. If you want a riced desktop you should install archbang. It comes with openbox which is the easiest shit to rice.

ooooo spicy

>he fell for the meme

how much memory does it consume at idle?

If you read my post, I wasn't referring to the base installation process.
I was taking about what you do after it, the configuration, the additional software you need to install, etc. That stuff doesn't change because it has nothing to do with installing Arch.
That infographic is good for a new user who doesn't know shit about what he needs.

I know that feeling. I failed to get Arch installed. Funny thing is, I *was* able to install Gentoo and run it for a year. Go figure.

Best just to use Debian.

>he WANTS to be a meme

Also it's still 100% correct, not sure what you are even saying.

i know that you can control global volume with it but it's literally retarded to have it open at all. just use amixer. you just have it open to show off your colorscheme and didn't think about other TUIs you have.
