Lets say I wire up some components and I end up building a smartphone. Would it be legal to sell it?

Yes.

You'll need to fill a lot of paperwork.
But after, yes, it would be legal. Otherwise no.

if it abides by FCC frequency laws and junk then sure why not

Not as a cellphone, you'll need FCC licensing and an underwriter to approve that it meets all safety and technical specifications.

The FCC has to approve it if you do this in the US.

As long as the components have FCC approval, so prefab consumer electronics like ada sells are.
Any smart phone which runs off a raspberry pi is going to be mostly a phone though, it would be slower than the first iphone for most tasks.

actually i'm from europe but the hypothesys was to sell it worldwide

thx

actually the rpi2 runs much faster than the first iphones, it has a 1gb processor

>1 gigabyte processor

Who gives a fuck? Just do it and worry about that later

no? what?

>1gb processor

kek. My systems run 4Ghz of memory.

mine too 4.7 at turboboost... smartphones dont need that much

yes, the one I was talking about runs 1gb at 800-900Mhz :)

>1 gigabyte processor
You're not very smart are you?

>1 gb processor

>1gb processor

cool clock ahmed :^)

>tfw you fell for the 16 GHz RAM meme

IIRC radio devices like two way radios and GSM radios need to be certified.

...ok, so i realized the ram and the processor arent together.

lol

Maybe you should also learn to seperate the n from a t with a " ' " in certain cases.

Muh sides jej

>1gb processor

I think it would be more fun to build a phone that runs some old versions of Android and iOS. Fuck your raspi phone.
