>update my Nexus 5 to marshmallow >battery life gets worse, phone starts lagging occasionally
>girlfriend updates her g3 to marshmallow >phone performs better but battery life is worse
>mate updates to marshmallow on his note 5 >no performance change, complains about worse battery life
Was lollipop 5.1 the last good android?
Cooper Edwards
SoT went down from 4.5 hours on lollipop to 2.5 hours on marshmallow.
Leo Hughes

Just a random pic I found on int.

Kitkat was pretty good too
Brayden Scott

Anthony Miller
marshmallow is perfect on lg g2, it can easily make 6h phone screen and runs pretty smooth.
Camden Cox
sauce?
Ryan Perez
>why is an OS made for smartphones with 64bit processors performing worse on my 32bit machine
Tyler Rogers
Google it
Parker Ward
don't want jewgle to know i'm searching for sauce on this, if i did i wouldn't have even asked for sauce
Eli Flores
Well try iqdb then, it might have sauce.
Cameron Robinson
>Was lollipop 5.1 the last good android? No, KitKat is the latest good version.
Nathan Ortiz
>dalvik >jit Lol
Jonathan Evans
KitKat has both Dalvik and ART, switchable in Developer settings.
Charles Gutierrez
Yeah, on nexus devices and pajeet roms.
Zachary Bailey
No that was KitKat. I used to get 6 hours SoT on my OnePlus One on CM11S and it dropped down to 4 after an update to CM12.1.
Andrew Price
You need to factory reset after every update normie. Welcome to android.
Ryan White
What?
Josiah Roberts
>Moto X Play >5.1.1 used to give me 13 hrs SOT >6.0.1 gives me 10 hrs SOT and Moto Display doesn't work sometimes
Thanks Google, thanks Lenovo.
Camden Brown
No idea about official updates, but on CM13 my phone has better SoT than on Lollipop.
Sebastian Taylor
Cm12 was just horrible overall
Cameron Bennett
People complained about the same shit when Lollipop dropped. I remember because it happened to me.

Marshmellow is bretty gud on my S5.

Ayden Wood

Nathan Williams
Lollipop 5.0 was pretty bad on my Nexus 5, but 5.1 had been really good.
We haven't seen a 6.1 yet though so I'll have to pass 6.0 in favor of 7.
Nathan Williams
there never was a good android
Evan Kelly
Wrong
No, I believe it's becuase your system is 2 years old that you have this poor performance. Maybe go back?
Brayden Wood
SD800 is still a good chip, I've seen devices with mtk6735p running smoothly on YouTube, my sister has an oppo with the sd615 in it that runs smoothly.
I have no idea why performance took a hit on 6.0, but I'll probably try cm14.
Asher Nelson
SD800 is more than good enough for MM. I have both the SD800 and SD810 running MM without issues.
Brody Johnson
True, my g2 is blazing fast on 6.0.1.
Julian Rivera
For me at least. The Marshmallow update reversed the stereo channels on my phone. Factory reset didn't work, now I'm waiting for the next update.
Seems to be an issue with the Moto G only, though.
Luke Ramirez
I still delay installing CM 13 on my old falcon due to this. 12.1 works good so why bother I guess.
Nathan Lopez
>7 hours and 48 minutes ago Sup Forums hasn't lost its charm after all these years.
Wyatt White
Sup Forums had charm?
Eli Watson
How in the fuck do I get viper4android to work on touchjiz marshmellow? I've followed countless guides but driver status is always abnormal.
Camden Bell
this
don't forget to wipe dalvik cache, pajeet
Blake Sanchez
Is that a boy in that skirt?
Isaac Wright
KitKat was the last good Android OS.
Michael Stewart
Why do people keep saying this? It's clearly not.
Did people love dalvik that much?
Brandon Jackson
KitKat was as good as it gets with dalvik. I see lollipop and marshmallow as a transition update. Android N will hopefully be good and have the 5.0-6.0 issues fixed.
Nathaniel Young
no it's a cute girl.
Xavier James
The elephant has me suspicious
Luke Foster
if my dick gets hard it's a girl
Charles Smith
Many saw reductions in battery life, many concessions had to be made in terms of xposed functionality, and apps consume more space in exchange for marginal performance improvements.
Caleb Ramirez
How much more space? Can't be much more than 10-15% right?
Leo Smith
>update to cm13 on my gs5 >suddenly everything better >screen on time increased >overall battery life increased >better task scheduling for the cpu which leads to no overheating because lel snapdragon >finger print reader works despite no samshit installed >opt into nightlies instead of the stable release >nothing ever breaks i dont know what to say. im pretty happy with this.
Henry Nguyen
>blog posting >anime posting >secretly support posting
Mods are dead.
Joseph Gray
I get similar results using the URWsoft stock cleaner.
Under what conditions did your CPU overheat? I have yet to experience this.
Cameron Fisher
>his girlfriend doesnt have a penis
Andrew Barnes
the snapdragon in the international gs5 is kown to heat up a lot. its partly fault to the gpu though. so its mostly demanding applications and games. however using the youtube up for a long time also heats the phone. having a few apps run in the background is also bad.
all this shit dissappeared when i update to cm13.
Andrew Cooper
The G900F? I don't play games on my phone but use lots of its features. Only time it gets hot is when I use maps, tethering and charging at the same time.
Needless to say I don't get a lot of SoT with all that stuff running anyway but without I get 4ish hours SoT.
Hunter Thompson
>Many saw reductions in battery life, many concessions had to be made in terms of xposed functionality, and apps consume more space in exchange for marginal performance improvements.
I had that for 5.0, but 5.1 has been flawless for me. Although, kitkat was designed to run on devices with as little as 512MB ram, so maybe ART consumed too much memory on their devices if they had 1GB or less.
Jackson Cox
yeah the G900F. ofc it will not get hot if you dont use it much. however i can give you a real life example. before i had the gs5 i had a moto e. under the same workload it would run cooler than the gs5 in every scenario. including the one you mentioned. because i used it as a gps in my car.
Lucas Harris
Which moto E? Because the 1st be moto E o ly had a dual core at 1.2ghz and 2nd gen moto E still only had a quad core 1.2ghz.
The SG5 CPU manages 2.5ghz in comparison.
Aaron Morgan
first gen moto e literally runs cooler than the gs5.
Landon Hill
>1st be 1st gen
>O ly Only
New Google keyboard a shit
Anthony Young
Nagisa is the best
Jace Bennett
People have been saying this since 2.7!
Please fuck off now.
Xavier Nelson
Have any of you guys tried the marshmallow trick?
Landon Flores
I updated my Wileyfox Swift to Marshmallow (well, Cyanogen OS 13) and I have noticed no performance or battery life changes. The OTA update did screw up the OS though (crashed on unlock, probably because I limited the permissions of google play services) so I had to flash a clean rom.
Austin Martin
Yeah don't fuck with system app permissions too much, doesn't take a lot for it to go full retard.
Angel Moore
Yeah, 10-15%. On poorly partitioned devices, this means a noticeable encroachment on data space that was otherwise available on a device previously running kitkat.
Luke Wood
Yeah true, I always forget there are devices with less than 16gb storage.
Parker Johnson
>SD400 runs cooler than SD800
Yeah and half the performance too.
Landon Wilson
Tell me about it.
Anthony Phillips
Wot?
Eli Williams
You shove marshmallows up your ass to make yourself poop delicious marshmallow hot chocolate.
I made jenkem with it one time and that shit took you to space.
