i'm asking this on Sup Forums intentionally. because i want your opinion.

let's imagine something really unrealistic:

>your brain gets cloned
>that brain is implanted into a completely different body

which of them is you now? on which of these bodies lies your consciousness? that same consciousness that belonged to you before the cloning process.

everything we are, including memories is stored in our brains.
so it's possible that the clone could be you now.

option a
>cellular memory is a real thing and your consciousness remains on the original body

option b
>your consciousness now somehow is present on two bodies

what does Sup Forums think about this?

i actually look for completely scientific opinions.
if you believe in some sort of deity or your're spiritual, state it as such.

Her lazy eye is driving me fucking crazy, thanks user REEEEEEEEEEEE

looks shopped desu

The eye is too distracting. I can't concentrate on anything else.

Okay first that lazy is really fucking with me but to answer your question OP, I would think my consciousness would transfer with me into the new clone so essentially the clone is now me.

>>your consciousness now somehow is present on two bodies

Something like this.

Kinda how twin brothers and sisters know when something bad happened to one of them, saw that shit personally once, guy died in a car crash while brother had a fucking seizure and fainted at the same time his brother died. Whey were distant from each other at least 350km.

When he woke up in the morning, he was crying, calling for his brother but he didn't know his brother have died.

Option a

Because it will clone your brain and its composition but it won't have the neurons that are firing in your brain at this moment and thus is a separate entity if it even operates. Those who have brain transplants don't have memories that belonged to the donor.

too bad metart is spewing out nigger porn nowadays.

Spiritual with some scientific evidence--all things in the observable universe was once one in whole (big bang).

>your consciousness remains on the original body
>your consciousness now somehow is present on two bodies
Counciousness is not science for "soul", user.

I´ll go for option b, our consciousness are nothing more than a process that can be replicated given enough information about it´s actual state and yet both are unique from their own perspectives.

whats nigger about it?

Neither a or b.

>on which of these bodies lies your consciousness?

See, this is where we have to ask exactly what you define as consciousness. If you define it simply as what that person is experiencing (seeing, hearing, feeling, etc) paired alongside their memories, then both bodies will have consciousness. However, this doesn't mean that you have consciousness in two bodies, it simply means that two bodies each have consciousness, that will seemingly be indistinguishable from each other at the time of conception. However, if the clone moved to a different country for example, and had very different experiences to what you have, and then you met up with your clone a few years later, I imagine you'd probably be very different people.

As far as we know, consciousness is completely chemical, as we have yet to learn anything that suggests otherwise.

consciousness is a biological function

>everything we are, including memories is stored in our brains
and large portions of the nervous system

they've done sets with niggers. not going to bother looking it up but they've been spammed on cuck boards like Sup Forums.

cloning is not the same thing as duplicating. scientists have cloned entire herds of animals from a single animals dna and the clones have different personalities/temperaments, etc.

if you cloned a person they'd look like you but could have a completely different personality depending on their experiences

i want to fuck her till her eyes go straight.

>program running on computer A
>RAM and processor state from computer A is cloned to computer B
>same program is now running on computer A and computer B
Your brain is nothing more than a biological computer. You can have your existential crisis now.

I have my consciousness, clone has a clone of my consciousness. There's nothing magical about it, no 'soul' to split.

I actually let out a slight chuckle. Good job.

The inputs will change though because computer B is in a different place and sensory stimuli means it's just another copy of you running in another instance.

It's like cloning a VM that gets it's IP from DHCP. The IP will be different but the services and code running on the VM is the same.

b)

anybody who thinks a) is a retarded delusional religious nut

It'd be more interesting if your brain was transplanted into a new body and the clone brain was put in your original body.

do u guys think she watches anime

>Be me
>Meet a 6/10 that flat out points out she wants to fuck me
>she has a lazy eye
>if she didn't have that I probably would have fucked her beyond reason because I got dumped last December and I'm craving for human contact.

And then they say that eyes don't matter in a woman.

Why didn't you just hit it from behind you fucking faggot

>The same consciousness exists in two bodies.
>The "Second" consciousness knows he's a copy
>From that point on he begins to react on being a copy and from that point he becomes a different, albeit similar, consciousness from your own.

Simple.

>jfo this fucks up with the Teleport thing from Star Trek

She was also kinda crazy... Wasn't too sure and I also kept thinking about my ex.

I was I was once in your mom's whole doing a big bang

>Those who have brain transplants don't have memories that belonged to the donor.
you're joking right

>6/10

Right? Such bullshit.
I donated my brain last year and every so often I pick up thoughts from it. There's no way it doesn't go both ways.

>option a
>>blahhhh blashhh

>compilerFW
error: SQL connection string is invalid.

Consciousness is the product of experience, so we would be the same person at the exact moment of cloning but we'd diverge immediately after.

i'm well aware of that.
consciousness is a state of being aware of and responsive to one's surroundings.

i wasn't referring to a soul

a duplicate would have made more sense in the example then. thanks.

then there'd be an option c: death
interesting one.
