No

E-ink will be perfect when it can do color

POO
O
O

>grayscale e-ink when there already is color e-ink

It already can, but it would still make for a horrible monitor due to refresh rate/response time

Retarded, explains why it has OSX on the display, OLED is literally all we need for monitors

is that dot matrix?

E-ink is better for large format or slow paced tablet format, I want my home's walls made of E-Ink displays, allowing me to change the color of the house at will

You'd just want transparent OLED, also that would be retarded as well user

Seeing how they sell an ugly 13inch screen at that price I don't think so.

prices will only come down. that's his point.

>not wanting an optical camouflage capable house

For porn?

are slideshows your fetish?

It would be the best way to read hentai mangas

assuming the resolution is improvable.

I actually would buy one for that if it weren't for the price.

>Giving a fuck about your eyes

I'd buy an e ink laptop that can run for weeks.

>Retarded, explains why it has OSX on the display
epik

There are experimental 48hz color eink displays. Nothing for consumers though.

this is decent for programming

>world's first
why are kikestarter scams so shit?
some chinks already this

an E-ink display with adaptive-sync would help with some of those latency issues, but good to see the tech moving forward so well

It can't really be all-purpose is the real problem. Videos won't be a thing pretty much ever.
Chromecast would be a good fix, but I don't think non-walled-gardened solutions will come about for quite a while if ever either.

adaptive sync requires 9hz minimum

Why is everything on that page an image?
So that the real manufacturers would be unlikely to find it with text searches?

Why the hell would I want a grayscale monitor?

I... Did you know you linked the same guys as the OP?

the framerate isn't the issue, it's calling the first frame refresh right when it's needed. that's the majority of what people see as latency.

Oh wow, the kickstarter scammers even hacked the chinks webpage to point to their crowdfunding page

>OS compatibility issues
>for a fucking monitor
fuuuuck off

I know this might be difficult to comprehend, but if you can't think of a use for it it's probably not for you.

Of course it isn't for me

But what use does a gray scale monitor have for a desktop?

You don't need colour to view text and other black and white content

What is most relliable monitor that needs least resources?I want to use monitors istead of my walls

The new, current generation will have colours.

But it isn't very useful for a desktop but godlike for tablets or phones if you don't use them for video watching.

Did you know you can perceive the polarization of light with the current lcd you're using?
Look at a blank white area of your screen and rotate your head left and right (like a confused dog) while staring at a point.
If you're perceptive you'll see the Haidinger's brush rotating counter to your head.

That's my favorite thing about lcd displays. Long live lcd.

I'm glad someone else noticed it too

>reflects light like paper
Useless then for 99% of the basement dwellers here who've never seen any light besides their monitor for a long while.

i'd consider it as a panel replacement for my laptop, but not as a standalone monitor
