OP did the lines go away when you first charged it up again or after you updated the firmware?
No its not over, this shit is due to a faulty display connector apparently. Either open a support ticket (they mailed me a new one and I kept the old one), or lookup fixes for it (involves opening back plate and stuffing a spacer in there).
After the update. It still had the lines when I booted it up.
Warranty expired q1 2015 user, thanks though. It's still working fine, so I'm hoping it's not faulty hardware

I did this to my pebble and was pleased to find that this is the issue. Its a hardware issue not software so pop that shit open and stick a bit of paper between the screen connector and the back plastic.

That's a known issue. Warranty it and they'll give you a new one. They give Pebble Times for OG Steels these days, idk about the plastic OG though.
