>1st for Casio

way to let the general die without starting a new one fags

can anyone speak to the quality of "Borealis" watches? is it some fly by night brand or decent?

i'm interested in pic related: borealis sea hawk. it has a 4r36 so movement should be fine, can anyone speak to the quality of the brand or build quality?

different pic to show double domed sapphire crystal; i don't know if the crystal jutting out that much is a good or bad thing

And... the thread is ruined.

Is using a proxy like From Japan a good way to buy watches from Yahoo auctions?

At least I showed up 'on time' :^)

So fucking good. Why won't Bulova remake these, I won't mind negative LCD even.

Because nobody would buy it.

i would. That's already one.

...

I would too. Much better than shitty Casio digi-digi.

Also probably sparkly niggs like Will.I.Am and Kanye

And your whore mom too.

At least I have a mom and not two gay dads, you queer ass-baby.

nice fake rolex bro

I asked just before the finale catharsis of the last thread,
seiko couture
is is worth getting as a dress style watch?
specifically looking at the kinetic perpetual ones

If you want that funky 70's LED stuff check out the G. Gerlach Kosmonauta.

You mean the Coutura line? All the ones I saw were pretty ugly but they are Seikos so it'll be fine.

I like the blocky minimalism of the Kosmonauta but the message of polish pride escapes me. If it had sapphire glass, 200m WR and a battery that lasted more than 6 months, I would see myself buying and wearing one, autoironically of course.

Not been here a while. Here's my DIY NASA strap with a few months of wear on it

What's the other side like?

According the their website it does have a sapphire crystal and the battery life is rated for 2 years but it's only 100m water resistant.

Yeah, I like the look of this one
just wanted to make sure there wasnt any obscure reason I should avoid it

So I might have a fancy paper holder after some diving.

You often dive below 125m with cheap watches?

Other side is barely visible when worn

It's a fake Tudor, faggot.

I think this one has a lumed bezel which is particularly neat. Isn't it massive though?

yes

42mm wide, 15mm thick. i don't know if that's too huge or not

>Isn't it massive though?

Depends on how much of a wristlet you are. it is kind of thick though.

...

>175 €
>cheap
I'm sorry your lordship, have you perhaps come here by accident?

That's not so bad. thought it was over 45 because it takes after the DSSD

In the grand scheme of things. €175 is damn cheap for a watch if you're to exclude Supermarket Quartz from the average.

>€175
>not cheap for a watch
It's a lcd quartz, though.

Fuark, that is thick

I have a scout sniper, very nice watch for the price although it is on the big side. I do have some complaints about the bracelet but most of their other models seem to have better ones, especially the sea hawk.

>In the grand scheme of things,
I dont have 175€ to burn on that kind of a watch

I'm by no means saying that €175 is an insignificant amount of money. But to look at watches as a whole, €175 isn't much to spend.

Your problem. That's the price of decent watches.

Fucking hell user...

...

how's the overall construction of the watch or anything

any other complaints other than the bracelet

I decided to go with Rolex Datejust II for first luxury watch. Just can't decide on the color. Which one is best and most versatile?

Black is a pretty common colour for watch dials, instantly readable vs the batons too. With the white and grey they just sort of hide there. I'd say black.

I think the white dial looks the best and probably goes with the most clothes

Meh, the light colors look better with the Datejust design. For me, at least. I think the gold/champagne dial is the best one with the silver one coming second.

So are you choosing from the three in your photo famalam? They are all pretty versatile, guess it would come down to choice, go to a dealer and have a look at them irl

>why no glorious explorer or omega speedmaster

Got it today.

Favourite module by far.

I wish it was solar and multi band 6

what do we think about black bay 36mm?

imo it seems a little overpriced for ETA but tudor always does that and people say it's good value so idk

It's a shame the Explorer has the
6, 9 ,12 they just look obnoxious as fuck.

Nice watch you have there.

>not gold

Do all Tudor have ETA or do some models have rolex movements as well?
I like some Tudor designs but if they only got ETA it's a big no for me at that price.
Only the metal ones do, the old one looks great.

I don't think it looks all that bad, adds to the aesthetic I think

I think it's on ar with the datejust for looks

Air Kings aren't bad either

Never gold, unless you're that royal butler faggot on tv

Is that the only one you like?

>Do all Tudor have ETA or do some models have rolex movements as well?

Last year Tudor introduced their first ever in-house movement. It is not a Rolex movement, it's a completely new movement exclusive to Tudor. Before that they were all ETA and some of their models still today use ETA movements.

If I had to complain about something it would be that they put white lume paint on the numerals and not on the giant white hands. The tritium makes up for it though. Construction wise it's very sturdy feeling, the case is pretty simple though.

>a fake Tudor
You might as well kill yourself mate.

Eh, I'll never get a Tudor, then.
Just fucking save on the materials and work, not on the movement, what's the point?

struggled to get a good shot of this, sorry for the bottom part of the photo
\
old friend from navy gave me this for some reason. i think it looks nice

>€320
Nice
>42mm
Fuck.
If only the Steinhart ocean one vintage red wasn't so big with huge lugs I'd buy it.

Any other option at that price?

That watch is stealthy as fuck user.

Doesn't look to bad

The lume and the hands being the same colour is a little off putting for me

>for some reason
He wants your boypuss, Nancy.

You think I could sport it with a 16cm wrist? The Stein.

don't do it, i have 16cm wrists and everything above 40mm looks horrible no exceptions

;_;
im cleaning it with swabs and vinegar now
might be done by the end of the day

Why not just mod a seiko instead of buying a "buyer's remorse: the brand"?

Don't forget to clean your butt hole with vinegar too, after he rams it like a train, Nancy.

Yeah, thought so.
Though, this one is 42mm, how does it look?
Don't mind the garbage watch.
I don't mod no watch. For €320 I couldn't get a remorse even if I wanted, escept for not being able to wear it, of course.

Yeah. Honestly, people wear literal fuckhuge watches these days. You aren't going to look out of place with a 42mm watch, still below average by what is going around

Give the crystal a bit of a polish and it will look bretty gud

pls no bully
yeah, will do
its a good watch, right? i dont know if it will fit on me though

Whatever you say user, just make sure you don't end up with a collection of entry-level junk like some average redditor.

I need a watch to wear everyday. I don't even have a watch I can wear right now, I have a Seiko 5 that needs service and a new bracelet, 2 vintages (Zenith and Hamilton) that need servicing and that garbage which I refuse to wear and I'm trying to sell.

I want to buy a Seiko 5206/5216 LM and I'm trying to find a watch to buy to wear everyday.

getting some really good vibes of the 35mm tangente

would it be a good watch for daily use? i am in college

>would it be a good watch for daily use?
>no date
No.

How you collect watches is none of my business, and if you say you need a watch then you need watch.

It's just that I honestly think that there is absolutely zero charm in the Steinhart brand. They're decent budget versions of famous watches, but why not just buy some chink shit if you like the design? Or mod the fuck out of a seiko, that way you at least showed some sign of creativity. Or at least go for a brand that actually does a homage design instead of the "as close as possible before hitting the trademark" school of design that steinhart uses?

It's a brand that gets pretty much zero respect, and for good reason. I honestly think it would only be a matter of time before you regret the purchase, even it it's only 320€.

Is there anything in between the 6R15 Seiko and the Grand Seiko?

>why not just buy some chink shit if you like the design? Or mod the fuck out of a seiko, that way you at least showed some sign of creativity
What? Because the Steinhart has a decent movement, it's a certified diver and has decent materials for a cheap price?
>creativity
I'm not gay.

...

I'm interested in buying an actual decent watch after perusing these threads, what's the largest I can go with 7 inch wrists without the watch looking like it's too large?

I will leave this here, ok?

How much?

42mm

>I'm not gay.
No, but you sure are a jackass.

I've built a 40mm double red sea dweller styled watch and have had it and enjoyed it for over a year while I regret buying an orient ray every time I look at it. Get what you want

instrmnt.co.uk/watch/

What I want doesn't exist. Nothing is up to my standards and I wouldn't have the moeny to buy it anyway.

Shit.

A lot of the ones I've been lusting over are 44mm.

Got this for $20

Ok or not?

nice find

How the fuck does a mechanical alarm watch work? Where does the sound come from?

youtu.be/Lpb0TaVrFFk?t=78

>250€ watch
>Ronda 585 3H
>15-20€ depending on where you get it

In a year and a bit i am turning 30 and my wife is going to buy me any watch i want. She has already saved up a chunk of cash with the intent to buy me a rolex submariner which i have always fancied. Since it recently came up i have been thinking about it and decided i want to explorer niche or specialist options. I like the vacheron constantin style. However, i would also love to find the smaller specialist watch companies or hobbyist. I also wouldnt mind spending less on a watch since its ridiculously expensive when you think about it (so i try not too).

Before i go balls deep into all kind of fora i was hoping you guys could help me out a bit?

Is the LLD a good watch or another "not allowed to be better than an Omega in any way" neutered Swatch garbage?

>Inner rotating bezel
As an Orient Marshall owner, I can safely say that's it's annoying as shit having such a free moving bezel. Would much rather if it were 120-point inner rotating. Would no doubt be possible with a heavy lug system?, Or hell, could even live with it if the crown used to rotate the bezel had to extend first.

If what I heard is true the LLD is one of the better parts of modern Longines entire lineup. I have no hands on experience with them though.
