To be fair, it's actually a pretty good deal on a 5k display.

>And nothing else.

To be fair, there's also a computer inside.

>with a 5k display

If you can call it that.

Also, no shit, sherlock.

this is not out yet

it's a computer, shercuck. don't be an idiot

Latitude XT2
Spacesaver M

That's my point.

I'd rather have the monitor, untethered to that garbage, so I could use it with a proper pc

I'd rather have the monitor with computer built in, it's more powerful than anything I currently own and more power than I'd need

Would the Senn 600s/650s be a good upgrade over a modded set of Hd 558s?

If it's more powerful than you need, you have no use for a 5k monitor, family.

Do you think they just cut the actual saw for this?

Blatantly false. Just using a computer is more than enough to justify purchasing a high resolution monitor.

what in the world are you using to think

Nexus 5

Ath-ad700x
They're the most comfortable headphones by far.

MDR-XB700

He's clearly cutting thru the laptop, user

Never again. It have the crappiest cable i've ever seen.

Five years old now, might be looking to buy Senn again for closed headphones. Their high end open phones are too much for me.

I have one of those, the cable is shit and will break

Excellent for bluetooth.

How does someone manage that? Did you press a soldering iron there?

what is this epic meme

Pic related.

SMOOTH

>never regretted buying Veilheisers

so I assume you never tried out any other headphones afterwards?

DT 990 pro

looks like a PIV or M laptop
businesses tend to throw them out in piles since 2010
you don't even have to have a working one for this pic

...

There's no way its him

I have them for two years now and the cable is just fine.

I used 2mm drill bit to grind a hole in it, then pull the cable out, bore out cable sleeve a bit and insert cable back. And u better solder it fast, that plastic cant handle high temps.

webm autist when?

They are looking authentic.

my nigga

>tech related
>headphones
get the fuck out

I have the 598's they are great for videa that sound stage

and what would you suggest as a better alternative?

audio-normie here.. here is my input on sony audio;
every sony headphones or anything sony audio I have had sucks balls.
>Crt tv
cant hear shit, have to blast it loud as fuck to understand english
>sony bravia 32
cant hear shit, have to blast it loud as fuck to understand english
>sony bravia 40
cant hear shit, have to blast it loud as fuck to understand english
>old ass gen 1 noise canceling headphones
goat, best $20 Ive ever spent, got two of them cause fucking yea. god help you if you cover the microphone hole though
>2011 noise caneling headphones
sucks balls, feels like its literally earbuds inside of a headphones packaging. noise canceling sucks. audio performance sucks.
>home theater surround sound thing
not a budget model, audio sucks, have to use a separate eq to make it listenable.
blows cause have to readjust the eq for every.fucking.song.

No audio general or anything thread, so copy-pasting into here: Hey Sup Forums. I've been working on craigslisting a home audio system after my previous hand-me-downs failed. Right now I have polk audio ii monitor 30s, and a denon avr-4800, and still working on the turntable. I hadn't set anything up in a while, so I decided to try it all out tonight. I have an RCA to AUX Cable to test out the sound from my laptop/phone. However, once hooked up (what I think is) correct, the sound that gets produced sounds like a muffled laptop speakers with the volume turned all the way up, but half as quiet. If I try to turn it up any more, it clips and the receiver shuts off. I have no idea what the issue is. The banana plugs I'm using were supposed to come with some sort of clamp, but those are missing, but the little spike that goes into the speaker wire is still holding the wire in place, so I don't think that's the issue. What could be my issue here? I wasn't under the impression that the AVR4800 needed a pre-amp, but was I wrong? What the hell is going on?

Update on this: I removed banana plugs and put the speaker wire straight into the receiver. Now, I'm getting sound through my speakers, but it sounds like there is no (if any) bass, and just the sound is horrible quality. Could it be the rca-to-aux cable? What can I do> :(

headphones are always a great purchase because they retain their value incredibly well as long as you take care of them

Me too, until one of the drivers died. I also had a pair of xb500s but one of their drivers died too.

/!\ WARNING WARNING WARNING WARNING /!\
THIS CARD IS NOT ACTUALLY OUT YET!! THIS Sup Forums USER IS TRYING TO TRICK YOU WITH A FALSEHOOD!!

Why the fuck do you keep buying that shit?

Some day I'm picking up a pair of XB-1000s, till then, these are more than good enough.

could it be too much into a single outlet? these speakers sound so flat and im losing my mind

No

Off the top of my head:

Logitech G100s mouse
Yamaha A-S500 amplifier
Gigabyte 660Ti graphics card
ASUS M489GTD Pro motherboard
GSkill 4x2gb DDR3 ram (in 2010)
Nikon D3100 camera
Sennheiser HD280, HD555 headphones
Sansa Zip Clip mobile music player
Sony PS3 controller
DAS Silent keyboard
QCK+ SK Edition mousepad
ASUS RT-N66U router

Most other items I have regretted or been displeased with at least at some point - these ones have been appreciated almost universally.

Items on this list I have never had any real reason to regret or doubt purchasing.

crt was given to parents at a point after I bought the bravia 40".
The bravia 32 was grandparents. I bought the gen 1 headphones and loved them, but the wire got a short years later. Bought the 2011 version to replace it and got fucked and couldnt return them. found the second pair of gen 1's at toys r us on clearance, knew they were goat so bought them.
the surround sound system was only $30 on craigslist.

good question though, if I bought all of this shit AND paid full retail for it I would be pissed. But I didnt, so I dont really give a fuck.

No audio general, so I'm starting one because I need a problem fixed. I've been working on craigslisting a home audio system after my previous hand-me-downs failed. If I try to turn it up any more, it clips and the receiver shuts off. I have no idea what the issue is. I'm getting sound, but it's just extremely low quality, and don't know what any possible issues could be. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Ops i mean this guy

>they are great for everything

Except tracking. Never track with open backs.

Yep, had mine for close to a decade and they are still working absolutely perfectly. K702s broke multiple times, Focal Pros broke, these will probably last my lifetime.

Headphones don't produce a sound stage. EQ and Reverb do that in the mix stage.

DT770s
Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ITX
Phanteks PH-TC14PE
Sapphire Tri-X R9 290
LG G3
Sony MDREX58V (several times, my dog chewed a few of them up)
Dell Latitude

Correct. Headphones don't produce sound stage.

They represent it.

Just listen to music through a pair of MDR 7506s, then through Sennheiser 598s. The difference is immediately apparent.
Neither are "bad", per se, but the soundstage representation in the 598s is much, much wider, thanks to being open back, vs closed back

seems like we only appreciate headphones

...

7506s are neutral - that is to say closer how the people making music and producing game audio want you to hear it.

The representation of a sound stage (disregarding the frequency curve for simplicity's sake) is only defined by the distance of the speaker in relation to your ear drum and the reverberation difference between open/closed back. In which case you should go for K702s over 598s if the closed back reverberations are so unbearable from the 7506s. The colouration of the 598s would only be negated if your ear drum was, physiologically speaking, further from the sound source than the norm. So you would have to have a pretty massive head to justify buying 598s.

Most importantly of all, however, your ears become accustomed within a matter of hours to such subtle differences as circumaural reverberation, so unless you are a pro EDM producer somehow not mixing on speakers, you should go for the 7506s.

>so I could use it with a proper pc

You can though. You can even install gentoo on it if you want.

Just got these and I've noticed the bass is focused on the left and kicks on the right

Why?

Same, 7 years I think.
I did go for the hd650 recently though, won't ever regret that either.

>what is acoustic pressure buildup
Also, you did nothing to refute my point, and simply attacked me using 598s as an example (I guess you have some weird grudge against them?)

7506s are perfect tracking cans, but shit for mixing. 598s are garbage for tracking, because sound leakage that comes with open backs, but they are ARGUABLY (key fucking word, here) the best mixing cans at the price point, and excel particularly at positional representation, ie: they've got a good fuckin soundstage, stop being autistic, and learn what you're talking about.

Playstation 2

Not even trolling, I love that thing.

I've got a stack of fats next to me right now

Ati HD4870. Thing was a beast back in 2008

>i don't get that '-'
the cable of the k240 on the pic is like 10cm long

COULD IT BE THE LEGEND

IS HE BACK? I HAVEN'T SEEN YOU IN OVER A YEAR YOU GLORIOUS BASTARD

You've never put on a pair of Beyerdynamics have you
