Is it the only good browser for Android?
Is it the only good browser for Android?
CM's browser isn't bad either
yes, dubs confirms it
No.
It's the only decent browser with ad blocking.
>botnet
Yes but firefox and stock aosp are also nice
kys
>kys
You might be confused with CM browser, which is another browser.
www.androidpolice.com/2016/05/22/gello-cyanogenmods-custom-chromium-based-browser-is-rolling-out-to-some-cm-builds
tugabrowser is best browser
it's garbage now, I liked it but now....
naked browser need a slighly better looking UI...
We YuBroswer now.
play.google.com
Seconding this
>recommending closed source software

>We YuBroswer now.
>play.google.com
How does this compare to tuga?
I switched from Tuga to this recently, I liked the UI better and it is updated pretty frequently. Pretty sure they are both based to the same build of Chromium (52). It's also on the Play Store so automatic updates just werk.
Naked Browser.
I just uninstalled that yesterday. was pretty good up until it decided it didn't want to load any fucking webpages and started seizing up like a retard on meth. naked browser it is then.
What about Naked Browser?
No. Firefox BTFOs lightning in every single way
>closed source
>can't get sync to work
>no auto history clear
>except it isn't
>user error
>use incognito for your shota
Except webms don't work in FF for Android and I can't figure out the fuck why.
Yes it is, look at the link, the GitHub is literally empty.
Sync is a known bug with CAF Chromium shit, you have to get lucky.
I don't like history because I don't like shit on my homepage and in my url bar, not because of porn.
Is sound in webms supported and I just haven't flipped a switch in settings or something? I test Lightning on my website and neither Vorbis nor Opus plays. In Fennec F-Droid they play just fine.
Naked is da shit. I use the pro version. Stable as fuck with tons of features
I like lightning, I wish it was capable of playing webm
I just use chrome . _.
Tugabrowser > Lightning Browser
Is there a good libre browser like lightning that is lightweight and supports webm?
Works on my machine. This is VP9, even.
Why not just stay with Lightning? Most people use that or any of the CAF browsers like Yubrowser and Tugabrowser
Lightning does support webm, you faggot. It just uses the android webview. How old is your ROM?
why is lightning so shit now? you can't even re-open closed tab anymore
CAF
Anything else is just slow shit
Because Lightning isn't being actively developed anymore.
Many of us have moved to Yubrowser. It has better adblocking and more active development.
I like it but doesn't the dependency on web view makes all your browsing go to Google?
Other than open sores and FREEDOM, what do alternate browsers have that Chrome or Firefox doesn't? Serious question here.
no. where did you get that idea?
because it uses the chrome (not chromium) webview, available from the play store so I supposed is proprietary but I'll be happy to be proved wrong as I use lighting often
>cant switch your main search engine.
>but its so fast
shut the fuck up
>Because Lightning isn't being actively developed anymore.
Why do you say this? Last update on fdroid is from less than 2 months ago
github.com
latest update is SHIT
Probably some Archfag who thinks if a program isn't updated on a weekly based it has been abandoned
Why does a browser need to read my contacts? That seems a little sketchy...
Link?
>closed source
>asking to read your contacts
Reasons enough not to install it
Naked a best.
>Chinese malware
Fuck off
I'm using a stock ROM, marshmallow, from play store.
opera mini
Stock, 4.4.2, from F-Droid. here.
That's funny, I cannot get gifs or webms to playback in lighting but they work flawlessly in FF.
Show me the malicious parts in the source code.
Doesn't Opera Mini still use the Presto layout engine, whilst Opera and Opera Mobile have moved to WebKitsune?
It used to be. Now Firefox has taken that title.
When lightning was still good and actually worked my #1 gripe was the tab limit.
>Pic related, tfw 40 firefox tabs open and ready
...
And before that? The updates aren't coming fast enough. There's significant bugs on the current version and Lightning doesn't even block ads properly.
Yubrowser is the new browser to beat.
It doesn't have that permission....

Pop-up before the contact permission request:
Where can I find the licensing and source code for yubrowser?
Are you that faggot who keeps asking even if you already know?
First of all, there's no github link in their description and they never mentioned that the browser is actually open source. Please take a look at my screenshots above. I think that's a pretty good reason not to install YuBrowser.
I don't know. I can't find it.
I use Tugabrowser
YuBrowser is literally just Chrome with adblocking.
I mean, cool, if that's what you want.
I don't know wtf you're getting at dude. It's pretty well known that contacts access is needed for accounts. You can sign into your Google account on the browser, hence it asks for permission. It's really not that fucking difficult.
Dont Firefox and Chrome also ask for contacts?
Not sure, but I don't really care. I'm not using a browser that needs to read my contacts - no, thanks.
Yu browser is good, I recently switched over from another similar browser
I don't lile how it doesn't have an option to make each tab it's own separate thing like all of the other other chrome based browsers though
I really like Dolphin but fuck does it crash a lot.
>using Dolphin
Are you from 2010?
Are there any good browsers that put the address bar and stuff at the bottom of the screen?
Or that will let me do that?
I'm switching from WP and that's something I think is far superior to android, why the fuck would you put the address bar at the top of the screen in a time when most phones are 5"+?

Does anyone know where to follow Tugabrowser development?
I'm on the alpha build that seems to be based on Chromium 52 but it has some small issues with crashing on certain sites.
The most recent stable build that was released today still seems to be on v46.
I'd like to know what the differences are between builds.
The difference is just what Chromium build they are on. That's it. m46 is stable, m52 needs work.
Are there any security implications by being on m46 vs 52?
Any idea why the CAF builds are all several versions behind Chromium?
Is there a Chromium build for x86 processors?
>Are there any security implications by being on m46 vs 52?
Obviously, yes. You should be using the latest if you want to be the most secure.
I use the default xyanogenmod browser, it's ok
no
Gello
Why do Yu Browser, TugaBrowser, Chrome, and CAF Chromium all feel exactly the same with barely any difference
I mostly use naked, it doesn't like some sites though (pretty rare but happens) so for those I use Lightning.
I also like how easy it is to switch to desktop browsing mode in naked. Comes in handy for some sites whose mobile versions are cancer
>he doesn't have root
It lets me get free livejasmine private shows and hijack webcams on the fly.
Where do I enable adblocking in naked? Not seeing it in settings.
Chrome is the best
Doesn't work on 6.0
Still waiting....
There is no adblocking, which is why we don't use Naked.
>needing adblocking on your browser
>not having root
>being on Sup Forums
>having to root just to block ads
Android is seriously a joke if this is true.
Being able to arbitrarily block or redirect connections to various domains SHOULD require root access.
Not rooting your phone means you don't belong here. You lose so much that it can only be the result of ignorance on some level.
>not having root permissions on your own personal computing device
>livejasmine
to be 14 again
>using an OS that doesn't give you root permissions by default when you buy it
>having to exploit the device in order to get root
Android is seriously a joke. Any Linux OS gives you root access when you install it.
Installing the su binary from recovery isn't really an exploit, it just isn't included by default for security. Also, desktop Linux isn't used by billions of tech incompetent smartphone users, it's for enthusiasts and tryhards.
