Remember to buy hardware that supports Open Source drivers user~kun

using gentoo myself, and proprietary drivers still work fine for me

I will stick with gentoo thanks
I don't care about an autistic pedophilic bird fucker has to say

Thanks for the Reminder Reimu. I'll see you on Sup Forums later tonight.

KAWAII TOMATU

Been out of the loop for a couple of months.

Are the new AMD open-source drivers going anywhere at all? Haven't heard shit for ages.

But AMD is shit so...

I only see the avatarfag on Sup Forums.

Btw nice reddit filename, OP.

Is Funtoo better than Gentoo?

>weaboo website

What´s the most free laptop that 1.- Isnt impossible to get 2.- Isnt underpowered as fuck and 3.- Wont make you look like an autist (this is not important at all)

Thinkpads with libre and coreboot good enough?

As opposed to non rolling-release ones? How many distros are you using?

Is Reimu for sex?

Fuck off.

I SURE DO LOVE WATCHING MY 720P VIDEOS AT 15FPS BECAUSE MOST OPEN SOURCE DRIVERS ARE SHIT

for real though, why are the open-source drivers for graphics cards so disappointing when there are countless people working on them?

even with an entirely free system, I don't find rolling-release comfy at all, I find it aggravating. Every day you're out of date again. Every day something's changing. Leave it too long and shit breaks when you update. Update every day and shit still breaks when you update sometimes, because gotta go fast is valued over testing and stability. And 99% of the time I don't give a crap about anything in any of the updates, other than security fixes.

Rolling-release is a giant pain in the ass meant to make things convenient for devs, not users.

Because GPUs are fucking complex devices and manufacturers withhold a ton of documentation.
The only choice is to reverse engineer most parts of the drivers.

Rolling Release doesn't necessarily mean bleeding edge and instability.
Take a look at Gentoo for example. It's stable as fuck and a rolling release.

No, her armpits are though.

Thank you for encouraging me to learn about 4chanx filters

Maybe software should support hardware and not vice versa?

how the fuck i am supposed to work when there's no open source driver for my ayymd GPU?
