thinkpad x220t

Do you use externals? A 120gb ssd on a laptop wow.

I just got this thinkpad a few days ago, I haven't really used it much yet

but yeah I definitely need to buy an external hard drive, any recommendations?

I like WD elements.

You mean Windows 10 Thread, right OP?

I'm stuck with this for a while so I might as well make it enjoyable so I got an ssd. I might get another 2.5 to 3.5 mount and put some of these laptop externals in and run raid. Thoughts?

Get an mSATA drive for your OS and programs and stick a regular HDD in the main SATA bay. No need for a clumsy external drive whose shit controller will give out years before the drive is ready to die.

It's half and half right now.

>Portable radiator

Why?

I didn't download porn or pirate a movie you basement dweller.

I won't bite.

Damn that's a lot of space!

A M D

...

Text too smal and tldr.

its 2936x476 get a bigger monitor then

...

How much did that shit cost?

$200 per CPU and $480 for the motherboard and got the RAM for $190

...

when u poor af

Those were given to you essentially. The CPUs are ~$2100 a pop. The RAM and motherboard are cheaper than retail as well.

Check ebay, you'll be surprised how cheap some 8 or even 16 core (32 thread) CPUs are.

That's fine but there is no way you got two 2687w for $200 each unless they're illegal ES's. They released like 3 months ago, those are brand new 12 core CPUs.

They are ES.
Don't tell Intel. :)
Chinese sellers.
To be honest it's more like $300 per CPU since one was not working and had to wait for the third to come before I could fire this baby up.

And just checking on ebay now the 2687w v4 engineering samples are selling for $700 each, none ES are $2100-2300 so I doubt they were $200 ES's

Then you got a good deal as those sellers could easily have gotten twice or 3 times that for them.

I'd never buy an ES to begin with though.

>all that blur

Lucky me.
Well you take a big gamble when you order from Chinese people.

One of the things I would've bought.
ebay.com/itm/2-x-INTEL-XEON-E5-2687W-3-10GHz-20M-OCT-CORE-SR0KG-CPU-PROCESSORS-MATCHING-PAIR-/152120925214?hash=item236b1d1c1e:g:-~IAAOSwInxXNaFq

But I took my chances and ended up with a cheaper and better purchase.

I've got a single socket x99 2011-3 board with a 5820k in it at the moment. I'll throw a used e5-2699v4(or similar) in there in a few years once they start getting cheaper.

The sad thing is, I only really play Duke Nukem 3D and AOE2

>The sad thing is, I only really play Duke Nukem 3D and AOE2
What else do you use your pc for? All of that space lol

The HDDs are filled with anime.
Most of it ill probably never watch.

Shit thats a ton of anime, I have roughly 800gbs lol

It's not that much. When I downloaded most of it back in the day they were just bloated encodes. Coalgirls and what-not..
I'm up to 799 different series', and 230 Movies.

>all these bigass shitposting machines
step up, niggers. Atoms are the best mobile cpus ever made

wow

i have one. but i also have a bigass shitposting machine, aswell as an expensive shitposting laptop, so my tablet is rendered kinda pointless,

i use it when going out of country, mostly, which is not every day.

How am I doing?

Is it time to replace my CPU and mobo?

will the shitty reference 980 cooler always idle at 60c without a custom fan curve?

thanks for your time.

I have around 7TB of anime

Impressive

My new gaming desktop, got it for 2000$.

guys don't tell him

made me think about pic related

lmao you win/.

What?

That guy's problem is similar to mine. I got mine from a Bestbuy, so it's not their problem. I guess games are just badly made now.

Actually they gave me a card named "R9 390" or something, told me to put it in. Since I already saw I had an Intel HD graphic inside at 1792 MB, there's now way I'd need this shit at 390 MB. I throwed it in the trash can earlier, and the truck already took it.

>and the truck already took it.
come on man, at least keep your trolling contained somewhat, you're being too obvious now and it's not fun anymore.

I'm not joking.

what should be my next step for an upgrade? I built this 2-3 years ago.

Delid and OC your 3770k.
Upgrade your gpu if you feel the need

...

GPU? maybe RAM if you need it.

try OCing the cpu if you have a decent cooler

on it

have a pape as thanks

...

bump

doh,the 18-core e5 2686 v3:s go for 370 dollars a pop,and they fit almost every x99 mobo on the market.those 200 dollar asrock mobos run them just fine out of the box

there is literally nothing wrong in stealing from intel

What do i win?

So?

...

...

upgrading to an rx 460. cant wait

OC'd to 4.3 ghz on air and currently stress testing.

...

...

just woke up and my CPU is idling at this temp 64c-67c
Is this bad ?

When I game it gets up to like 78c same for my GPU

forgot the image sorry

DDR4 memory @ 3000Mhz

>970

goes up and im not even doing nothing

My 6700k is a fucking dud with Overclocking. I have 1.4v going to the core when needed and still can't get beyond 4.4ghz with turbo left on.

My choices are either turn off turbo, and shoot for 4.6+ghz and the PC will be at 4.6ghz even when idle, or settle for 4.4ghz.

Bah whatever. At least the RAM XMP profile worked out of box and the PC accepts 3200mhz ddr4. Just swapped from i5-4690k/Z97 to 6700k/Z170 for less than $200 out of pocket today.

Thats a laptop right?

I probably would have just upgraded my 4690k to a 4790k and not need to reinstall everything.

ddr4

>no SSD
What a faggot

...

>AMD
>tfw waiting for Zen+Vega

6700k was $270 at Microcenter.
4790k was $300 same place.

To get new chip, board, and 16gb ddr4 was $560 with warranties on everything and tax.

To stick with 4790k and same ram etc would have been $330 after everything was said and done.

I only wanted the i7 for more threads because I encode quite a bit. I figured What's $180-$200 for
>ram twice as fast
>full nvme support
>usb 3.1/usb C on board
>20 Pcie 3.0 lanes as opposed to 16 and 8 2.0.

I don't plan to upgrade for a while and the $200 was worth it to me to make sure i don't have to upgrade for even longer. With my luck I'd have bought the 4790k, and Ram speed would have started making a difference for gaming/general use.

RAM speed actually does help quite a bit for hand brake encoding.

>old speccy

Fuck, I reset my settings recently, forgot to check the RAM timings.
