What the fuck do you need such powerful components for? Do you actually do anything productive with it besides gaymen?
I still can't see the need for anything more than an i5 and I actually produce music and render shit.

9 out of 10 battlestations on Sup Forums are just for gaymen.

Sup Forums is infested with manchildren.

I can see the appeal of having a silent and aesthetic looking pc but I still fail to see the need for overclocking or 500 dollar graphics cards.
Why are gpu threads so popular anyway?

Fuck off

Sup Forums comes to visit.

so Sup Forums consists mostly of Sup Forums?

At least a third.

a lot of people have disposable income and not enough sense so they buy shit for no reason

It allows gamers to be productive as a CHOICE if you are bored there a bunch of things you can do with them. But coding, rendering, producing, and mining(if you do crypto currencies)

All that is boring as fuck and you can play video games. Thats like an added bonus

"wow this guy has a $2000 pc setup! What a waste of money!"
"Wow this guy has a $5,000 duck hunting setup. He's sure into his hobby"
"Wow, this guy has $5,000 worth of mods into his car"
"This guy has $20,000 into his boat"
PC parts really aren't that expensive of a hobby.

you use eqipment for things. What do you use an overclocked i7 that a normal i5 wouldnt do?

>thread full of poorfags complaining that some people here have jobs

Install/compile gentoo at higher speeds

>PC parts really aren't that expensive of a hobby.
This may be true but they're still expensive enough that I've been continually putting off my desire to build a tower despite having ample cash for over a year now. I have a good, working laptop which makes me feel like a greedy asshole for wanting to build a tower (even though I'd legitimately have uses for it). Justifying it almost seems wrong somehow.

Maybe it's a sideeffect from having been poor most of my life, I dunno. It's annoying though.

>I don't need computing power at all, buying CUDA-capable graphics card is just a rationalization for Sup Forumsermin in denial
>12 hours into discrete deformations of gifs and unchill, laptop crashes

>criticizing people on an anonymous technology board for how they spend THEIR money

Sounds like a poorfag.

>good goy
Seriously tho: the performance increase is so negligible it doesn't make any sense to buy new gpus/cpus every year

>wow he enjoys a hobby instead of slaving away in a middle management job to provide for his wife and his wife's son
>WHAT A MANCHILD
not even a NEET but fuck you and everyone like you desu

That's being a manchild, dipshit

The use of the word 'manchild' is just stupid shaming language from nu males who make uncomfortable jokes about "having to get permission from the boss h-heh" whenever you talk about doing something fun or exciting

>need

That literally is one of the life-long effects of being poor when growing up. I know that feel too.
Being with my partner has really helped me realise that money is to be enjoyed when you have it - but do so responsibly regardless.

Shit. U got me l33t-L0rD

For 1080p yeah you don't need a whole lot to drive it anymore.

If you want 120+Hz or 1440/4k then the sky's still the limit.

>Do you actually do anything productive with it besides gaymen?
No, are you new here?

gaming is what advances technology you waste of organic material

You sound like the owner of an apple product, kys fagit

I actually have two $700 gpu for cuda and machine learning research.

That feel when i do my main gaming on a shitty core 2 duo
That feel when i cant play any AAA game
Someone can send me a decent computer jesus

Get a job
