Ubuntu. Why bother setting up debian to work nicely when you can just get it set up professionaly.

post pics

The word "Ubuntu" is a West African word, translating roughly to "I can't configure Debian"

Well I cant, what do? I want an OS that just werks.

git gud and read the fucking man pages

Ubuntu

trying to figure out if its worth switching to debian or not.

Install your preferred DE from the Debian installer.

Start off Ubuntu. I always recommend it for absolute beginners.

If you're a bit technologically competent, you can do Debian. It "just works" out of the box too, just to a less beginner friendly way

wtf man, she' 12

Do you enjoy your packages being old as fuck?

My preferred DE is Unity.

sudo apt kill yourself

No

so ubuntu then debian?

debians old or ubuntu?

paid shills are getting smarter these days

Install Gentoo

Ubuntu is downstream from Debian bro

Yeah there is Debian-testing you know

I did notice that, there are like 4 Debian/Ubuntu threads rn

Id consider myself technologically very competent. I still see no reason to try Debian over Ubuntu. What advantages will it bring for my day to day laptop use?

Ugentu.

>day to day laptop use
you don't need linux for that

>d consider myself technologically very competent
trust me you're not

the old inexistent battle

I'm sorry but if you were very competent you would not be asking this question

Or, "My vagina isn't big enough for Debian."

>Debian vs Ubuntu thread
>you don't need ot talk about those for your use case
Why are you here?

>trust me you're not
Maybe not compared to you but Im certainly way above avarage internet user.

It's all Systemd garbage

>Ubuntu
>They're fucking holding hands

Debian is better

I can answer that Debian is superior to Ubuntu for some specifical kind of professional use.

Outside of that, really, the question makes no sense. The only reason why you may need to use a Linux on a daily basis is "nerdy" hobby.

>Im certainly way above avarage internet user.
That doesn't say a lot

/thread

Ubuntu = Canonical = Cancer

It's the same fucking thing.
One's made for being stable and old as fuck.
The other one is made on the stable old as fuck system with a custom interface and to be slightly more up to date the the last one while not breaking everything.

>Be on Ubuntu. Everything just werks.
>Sup Forums tells me to try out Debian. Why not?
>Install Debian. Old Kernel. Wifi hardware not detected. Get a bunch of errors on boot everytime.
>Go back to Ubuntu and feel comfy again.

>It's the same fucking thing.
but no.
"a bmw and a mercedes are the same thing, they have wheels and you can drive them"

MInt

Wrong analogy mate.

You should have used a car that shares the same chassis and engine and the only thing that changes is the interior which is made to look more modern with proprietary shit.

>the only thing that changes is the interior which is made to look more modern with proprietary shit.
> but that's not true

...

So you're confirming the only difference is the "brand"

I thought debian cant into ppa.
and testing is still older than ubuntu 16.04?

>The only reason why you may need to use a Linux on a daily basis is "nerdy" hobby.
what kind of retarded statement is that ?
The only reason why you may need to use Windows on a daily basis is gaymen.

there are 6 different debian branches, and some of them have newer packages than ubuntu.
ubuntu is based on debian testing. there is unstable and experimental which are both more up to date than testing.

you could at least try to read what you are trying to install.
theres also an install image based on testing with nonfree firmware/drivers included

Ubuntu is the retarded ugly and potato daugther birth by a hot , juicy, mature and intelectual milf (Debian)
