RX 480?

I thought the RX 480 would be cheaper than this... Is this legit?

Not bad for eurobucks, that's with VAT apparebtly

I aint clicking that, thats the price?

That's $325 fucking USD

>being a eurocuck

>greymethod.co.uk/Store/Product?id=496

What were you expecting OP? 199?

You stupid fucks still haven't figured out exchange rates?
.88€=1$
Also: vat =+/-20%

just bought one from them... that's pretty good with VAT the 1080s were like £620 on release

Lol

$200 + VAT + Import price = £250+

If you're expecting less you are wrong

$250, dumbfuck

OH right, that price includes sales tax.

So what is OP complaining about? The price seems perfectly in line with the MRSP

£ not €, bro. Chill

it's britbong currency, not euro

daft faggot

$260 pre tax

£221.32 without tax is £184.43 - the 8GB cards have an MSRP of 229USD (200 for 4GB) so £184.43 into USD is $271.62. The price seems to include delivery so it's a little expensive but I think it's justifiable considering there's no other card in the price range.

You may aswell just buy it OP, or ask them for a discount?

>reference

enjoy that leaf blower tier noise. we know the aftermarket cards with actual decent coolers will be £245+

That is the 8GB model too.

That's the 8gb model. Not bad.

>reference
>$849.99

we're talking about GBP not EUR here, keep up

Don't forget import cost to the retailer plus the extra the retailer puts on it to make a little profit themselves. I am doubtful the US will pay $229 for the 8GB version. More likely closer to the $300 mark at launch.

That's 8GB too, not bad.

Knowing European socialism, yeah that's the real price

UK Prices always include tax, USA ones don't have to.

So comparing USA prices to UK prices never works.

Once you add in import tax and any other dumb costs UK people will always be paying more no matter what.

Since it's alreasy posted that the 8Gb is 249 Euros on another site then yeah seems kosher. It's about what I expected. Th cost of hardware in the UK is usually a direct conversion from US to GB once VAT and other shit is added on. Go look at any GPU slightly older than the 1080/1070 on amazon.co.uk and then compare to the US site.

That's the cheapest one I've seen so far, the only other one I've see is £290

amazon.co.uk/ASUS-Gaming-NVIDIA-GeForce-Graphics/dp/B014ZC2F2E/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1466601512&sr=1-1&keywords=980ti

Like I said.

Just wait for Amazon or Overclockers.

>amazon

there are shops selling brand new asus 980 ti's on ebay to clear stock for £350-380.

I am aware of that but I wanted a comparison of actual box shifting retailers. Not some shady seller.

Why would I do that? I already have a GTX 1080

So I looked on eBay for this card, turns out it's the same seller - just their eBay store?

ebay.co.uk/itm/like/XFX-RADEON-RX-480-CORE-8GB-GDDR5-36CU-150W-TDP/122021281044

Why are you even bothering with this? It's a stock model, wait for the ones with aftermarket coolers and extra power pins.

The card's limited to about 1.3GHz in stock config, it needs the extra juice to get to about 1.5GHz

I would not buy a brand new 480 from Ebay. I'd rather buy from Amazon with confidence I can send it back if there is a problem. Amazon never give me any trouble. Ebay sellers I have had to fight with to get my money back etc.

Amazon probably is a better idea yes, over here it's too risky for UK businesses to fuck around with your money but I'll stick with amazon, their feedback is good though

>tfw got a brand new r9 390 8GB for $330 CAD

kek

For real? Thought this was the plus 249,99€ thing with a base price of 50€ so 299,99€ or something.
Obviously not native speaker.

>mfw new amd technology "poolaris"
>can't beat an upper midrange nvidia card from 2.5 years ago

the 4gig version supposed to be 200$, reference of course
8gig version closer to 300$ so thats pretty nice

3dmark.com/fs/8900698
3dmark.com/fs/8900159

Firestrike scores for the 480

That's 287€...
I swear to God if this card doesn't get to my country at 240€ tops, AyyMDead can go fuck itself.

>blaming AMD and not the socialist shithole you live in

b-but muh free healthcare

Are you talking about 4BG or 8GB version?

Actually the healthcare in my country is vastly superior to 'murica one so i dont care if i have to pay 40€ more.

Yuropoors always bitching.

the 8GB version is +$30, or $229 USD

It is not +$100 for an extra 4GB of RAM.

>287€...
Around 280€ was expected by everyone. Optimists said 250€ Some people assumed 320€ for aftermarket cards with 8pin connectors.

Reminder that fears over the Brexit are influencing the value of the Pound Sterling.

>b-but muh free healthcare
There's no much point in memeing with something that is definitely superior to the rest of the world. Meme with something else.
>socialist shithole
Nope. Southern Yuropoor here. Try again.
8Gb reference is the one I'm planing on getting. I would expect it to run at around 230~250€ in the store I frequent, anything above that is not even worth looking into.

>40€
Or
>10,000 medical bill for ambulance ride
Gee, I dunno...

So just shithole then

It's fucking absurd how Euro is more valuable than Dollar, and still we get like 50% higher prices.

US price without VAT is 199 $ for 4GB version and 229 $ for 8GB version.

In EU, you have around 20% VAT on top of USD/EUR conversion. Something has to pay our healthcare system and other services.

nigga do u understand how any of this works

No, sorry to break it to you.

8GB version sells for about 230 USD.

Thats 156 pound + 20% = 187 UK. Price on site is 217 uk. So thats 217/187 = 16% mark up. Either due to limited supplies or if its an aftermarket OC tax or both.

If the 8GB is 250, then its 170 pound + 20% 204 UK. 217/204 = 6% markup. Most likley its the former with 16% markup over VAT.

Import taxes and protectionism for a non-existing yuro industry. It's retarded how countries apply high taxes to certain imports to "protect" their market, when they don't even produce alternatives for those imports.

Literally never heard of that site.

You're dumb.

Retail 8GB is $230 USD. Thats $203.87 EU dollars. 20% VAT seems average, so that will take it $245 Euro MINIMUM. If companies decide for extra tax, it will be higher.

>doesn't even know the difference between euro and pound
>calls others dumb

why is american education so bad?

Hmmm.Tell me.
Price of the card is 200 $.That's 176 €.
Add taxes on that,take Britain's 20% tax for example,and you get 211 €.
211 € = 162 £.
Yet the price is 217 £.

Am I doing this right?

>$245 Euro MINIMUM.
And that's a price I'm willing to pay.
For someone calling me "dumb" it's pretty hilarious that you didn't even read the "240€" line.
I clearly stated that if it goes beyond that, it's NOT worth it.

So you're opting out of GPU market or going for RX470? Assuming thats the case since you're bit poor for AMD stuff.

>A quality 550W power supply is recommended

Why? A 450w power supply is more than adequate for a i5 + 480 build. You could probably go lower.

No. If the prices go further than that, I'll just save up some more money and get a considerably better card. the reason I'm considering this card is because it looks like a great value, but If I cannot get the best price/performance, I'll just wait a few months more and get the high-end stuff.
It's not rocket science.

>Thats $203.87 EU dollars
>EU dollars
triggered

Yep even 350 would be enough with non oc'd hardware.

>$229

DELETE THIS

Tax in the US varies by state. I buy my computer parts in Oregon because they lack a sales tax.

$200 is for the 4GB version without taxes
also they will be in short supply so they will be expensive first

Yurocucks always get jewed the hardest when it comes to PC hardware.

>Get 450w
>Get dual Xeon running 140wx2
>Get 6 HDD and 2 SSD
>Have 8 ram slots
>have bunch of pcie peripherals and usb
>computer crashed

REEEEE AMD SUCKS IT CANT RUN SHIT. IT RECOMENDS 450W AND IT DOESNT WORK.

You're retarded m8. RX480 is the best price/performance even with 250 Euro. The 1070 GTX will be double the price to about 500-600 Euro with only about 30% difference in performance. 1080 will cross the 700-900 Euro. Yeah. Good luck with that.

>What language is that?

Be Canadian then complain

You're getting 980 performance for less than 300€.

Slovak.

GTX 980ti price drop when ?

>Not buying a ticket to vegas for 3 nights, buy GTX 1080 there and then fly back to canuckland for cheap

We'll have to see if that is true first. And I'm running a 780, I want either a killer price or a considerable jump in performance. 980 for 300€ is not worth it.
>You're retarded m8. RX480 is the best price/performance even with 250 Euro
Refer to the previous line.
>The 1070 GTX will be double the price to about 500-600 Euro with only about 30% difference in performance
You seem to not be able to understand the "a few months"; prices go down. I'd rather wait than paying over 250€ for a very small performance increase. The 1080 isn't even in my radar. I never mentioned the 1070.
Are you forgetting that your dear POO IN THE LOOs are releasing the 490 and 480x too? If I wait, I'll wait for Vega, my not very bright friend.

Shit, you guys got 20% VAT right?

I'm Hungarian and we have 26% VAT. I have around 87-93 000 FT (270-295) I really Hope I can buy at least a Refference 8 Gig.

>Probably cheaper than buying one here, its more like canacuckland

>claim that the grass is greener where you live
>bitch about paying ~$40 tax
If Europe is so fucking great then stop complaining when you get taxed more than Americans. I don't fucking understand these threads.

I buy my parts online because lack of a sales tax

>buying a 28nm HOUSEFIRE in 2016
kek, nope.

it already happened. 931.59 to 916.75

>GET HYPE

^^this.
People jump on the price too soon and think they will get the price quoted. Yes itll be less in the US as the co. op linked have had to pay import tax and added a bit on for profit.

>claim that the grass is greener where you live
Never did that, just an amerimad doing it.
>bitch about paying ~$40 tax
Of course I'll complain, specially with all the shitposting you people have been having about the "200/230$ 980 killer!" going up to a lot more than that.
Nobody is talking about America vs EU, my trigger clapfriend, we're talking about a card that might end up close to 50-100€ more expensive than it was announced.

me too user!.

>nvidiacuck
>canacuck
KEK

I would buy one for 500$ but not any more.... just not worth it really

Wooo the truth is finally starting to hit home.
What was a "close runner to a 980" for a cheap price is now "how much?!?!?!?"..bahahaha

jeez louise

To top it off I have an AMD FX house fire too
Top keks

>Win10

>gtx 980 is still 344 British poonds after 'price cut'

rx480 still wins

so £344 x2 (because two cards is apparently nearly as good as 1x1080)

Nah I will stick with my 1080 thanks

With the brexit, you can bet that it won't matter much longer.

Who says out will win?

yeah, have fun with that
