first for seastar meme

I like the crystal. The dial is a bit weird though.

Cheeky. What kind of strap is that?

How bad is brass as a case material /wt/? Does it develop a nice patina or does it just tarnish and get ugly? Does it not patina if you polish it?

It is corduroy on top with leather on the bottom.

>corduroy
I can't find anything like it, who made that particular one?

First for kallous klokkes

The title of the ebay listing I got it off of is "NEW AUTHENTIC MICHELE DECO CSX 36 BURGUNDY CORDUROY WATCH BAND 18 mm." I can't find it any more either.

Is the SKX007 still a good buy for a diver? I know there's the newer turtle but the turtle-shaped case looks like dogshit to me.

Any other brands i should watch out for?

Prolly gonna put a Bond nato on it.

Much help Sup Forums.

Careful, there's a difference between dogshit and shit

Neither. kill me

wtf? is this like a factory second?
the cross on the dial is crooked.

Welp i apologize. I'm okay with the turtle shape maybe when i'm wearing it on a weekend or something, but this will be my only watch for now so need something a little more conservative.

You could cut up some old pants and make a strap like that user in the last thread.

The movement in the SKX007 is deprecated. You should do a search for microbrand watches that use the Seiko NH35 movement of which there are many.

>deprecated

Gotta keep up user, jeez. Latest and greatest only.

Aren't microbrands with any newer movements lots more expensive than the SKX.

I'm a cheapskate student looking for my first mechanical :/

>no "watch thread /wt/" in the title
one fucking job

Yes. Dive watches are essentially memes, seiko being the most prolific dive watch producer you get extra meme points, its is also the cheapest iso certified diver, more more bonus points here

The new orient Ray is also pretty good for the price. Not as memey though

Interested in this. Any senpai pls.

Alot of the higher end watches make it all out of one piece of crystal.
Some stupid brands even mill a whole case out of the shit.

Not saying that is the reason it magnifies, glued on ones magnify just as well.

Hahaha nice failure to launch.
Are you a newfag or a troll?

It's not good. For one, it's kinda soft. Ammonia in human sweat can also stress it and cause it to crack.

May also turn your skin green from copper content.

Bronze is pretty much strictly better, and that's still just not good. You see bronze on some new high end pieces for the novelty value of being able to patina very quickly, but it's just not as good as steel for a case material long term.

It depends on how you personally define "lots more expensive" I suppose. You can find some in the $300-$400 range.

Hi there!

You seem to have made a bit of a mistake in your post. Luckily, the users of Sup Forums are always willing to help you clear this problem right up! You appear to have used a tripcode when posting, but your identity has nothing at all to do with the conversation! Whoops! You should always remember to stop using your tripcode when the thread it was used for is gone, unless another one is started! Posting with a tripcode when it isn't necessary is poor form. You should always try to post anonymously, unless your identity is absolutely vital to the post that you're making!

Now, there's no need to thank me - I'm just doing my bit to help you get used to the anonymous image-board culture!

Sorry. I didn't realize until it was too late.

Thank you, NineBall-senpai!!

>not disabling names and maintaining the purity of an anonymous image board.

My first decent digital watch, hoping for good things.
Should I bother trying to source a bull bar for it?

D-d-d-d-d-d-digital animal freaky folks

Y-you too

Anyone know if this has a screw down crown?

Forgot picture.

why the fuck isn't this thread titled /wt/ ???

It used to be in the first line if the post as well, but at some point it got removed. If I make the next thread I'll re-add that. Or if one of you does then please do.

If that's a monster, then yes, it does.
But seeing that it's only rated to 100M then probably not.

Am I a mentalist or could this work? Classic american clothes office prep and casual black / white tee and jeans / khakis.

>Am I a mentalist
You know a mentalist is a type of magician, right?

...

What's a good price to pay for one of these cool 70's Seastars?

Get a scuba dude Amphibia then for ultra meme points.

Enjoy it, I have one and they are great watches. Tough as fuck too.

Don't bother with bull bars, they aren't needed and I've read that they put indentations into the bezel over time.

How's the band on it? I'm considering getting NATO adapters for it too, heard they're not the most comfortable.

enough with the fucking natos already

for crying out loud just stop

B-but comfy

The band is fine, I find it pretty comfy to be honest. It kinda curves down near the lugs which makes it hug the wrist nicely.

Read the review of the Pulsar PW3001 from wus and now I'm interested.

>Vostok
>The only half decent Invicta
>Obris Morgan, but I think they're not doing Explorer at the moment
>Steinhart or whatever that's called
>Other Seiko divers, not that "conservative" though

>tfw when going to service the 40$ Lm special and get new crystals for both next week

Feels good.

Godspeed good sir

Yup.

Luckily they both share the same model of crystal so its a simple order.

Me too, I just pulled the trigger. I think I'm gonna get an engineer bracelet like an user here has.

>No title
Well done genius.

its actually a rare russian tuning fork, idk if what he's doing is good for the movement and stuff but it works

If I recall correctly those are just a straight copy of the accutron 214.

>a factory second
>the cross on the dial is crooked
You see this is why I love this anonymous online board - although its anonymous, everyone can see the stupidity written here. If someone told me they heard one guy saying that to se other guy IRL I wouldnt believe them.

yep

guy also has an even rarer raketa automatic

>That and you can generally just get a sense of someone wanting to buy versus not.
I had to go to a car dealer once and fake to be interested in buying a car for a survey company.
Twice. For cars of different brands. I think I managed to fake at a decent level considering I had never bought a car in my life. The key is believing what you're saying yourself and never for a moment let the insecurity kick in, just go with the flow as though you were really there for that reason, if you don't know something just ask the seller, don't let them see you don't know what he's talking about and you're acting as if you were nonetheless.
Hide your fakeness behind elements of honesty, basically.

It feels pretty bad, though. Thank god I dit it only twice.

Seiko is starting to drop the 7S26 in favor of the 4R35.

>check it out
>€129
Since when do canadian $ translate directly into €? Holy fuck.

Nice. Enjoy it. Remember to not wear it on the hand.

Most people aren't fully commited to the George Costanza approach (believing your own lies so thoroughly that you're not lying.)

Most people ask for a card and refer to speaking more to the salesperson at a later date because that's what it literally tells you to do online if you google for how to get a salesman off your back.

I was talking about deceiving them, not getting them off your back.

It's about behaving like what you're saying is not a lie.

>I was talking about deceiving them, not getting them off your back.
I know you were. I was talking about asking for a card. It's a universal symbol for for "no thanks, I don't want it, but I'm too polite/shy/afraid to just tell you no."

>It's about behaving like what you're saying is not a lie.
Yes, that's the George Costanza approach.
youtu.be/vn_PSJsl0LQ

...

Never seen Seinfeld, I'm not a burger.

>that's the George Costanza approach
I can already tell from the title it's not. I'm not talking about a lie being what, I'm talking about being belivable while you're lying.

It's a good show.

>I'm talking about being belivable while you're lying.
So is he.

No because he refers to the quality of the supposed lie. That's not important for me.

>taking social advice from ninefag

>No because he refers to the quality of the supposed lie.
You're trying to argue with me about a show you haven't even seen. I'm not sure why. It should be very apparent from the prior posts that we agree.

/wt/ - Social psychology

Don't be upsetti, have some spaghetti

Asking for a card was the foot in the door for having this dealer
1.) spend a good 10 minutes looking for the keys
2.) let me sit in their most expensive GTR
3.) have my friend take a picture of me in it
4.) make an embarrassment out of the dealership when the guy told me I could start it up and the battery was dead
So yeah, no please stop making an ass out of yourself I'm too busy being a cunt to dealers cause I'm a bored college student with a taste way too expensive for himself

My watches:
1. Seiko Sportura SNA451

We've agreed on the principals, but you still insist on trying to argue with me by going back to posts you've already replied to and trying to find something to bitch about.

2. Fully restored in mint condition Seiko 6138 Panda

3. Also restored fully original Tissot Automatic Navigator Chrono

Number 4 will be Seiko SRP777 Prospex diver.

>missing lume
>mint

Pic from google just for info, retard. Mine has a NOS dial, and lume is perfect.

More like
>restored
>mint

He means he had it restored with original parts, hence, mint. I don't see the problem in that.

Anything that's better than the Prospex in this price range? Advicesause, pl0x!

>but you still insist
I actually literally only made that post and the spaghetti one, I got a text that you were still upsetti over what I posted yesterday and wanted to see if you were alright

What's wrong with the neo turtle?

Any one know where can I fing replacement crystals for a vintage Citizen? The caliber is from the 7800 series but I cant even find the repair manual to check the crystal serial number...

You won't find one for a Cosmotron out of Japan.

Plus, they are harder to find than vintage Seikos.

I'm checking japan auctions but no luck for now either... How costly can it be to make a custom one?

Hot

good analog watch for < 50$ with minimal look and preferably water proof?

We have discussed this earlier.

This is a clock that is used in a radio room on board a ship, indicating radio silence periods for listening to the two emergency frequencies. Not respecting radio silence is grounds for shooting.

Often there are different colours used to represent the two emergency frequencies. That was also shown last time.

Now the 500 kHz frequency is disbanded and reused for radio amateurs and shipping instead uses satellite communication also for emergencies. Being a telegraphist was a fairly good job about 20 - 30 years ago. It is stull used for some rather specialised work.

t. Old Spark

Snk809 or Komandirskie.

You'd be hard pressed to find one.

Even the crystals for my LM specials aren't easy to come by.

youre probably better off getiing a fucked up watch for parts and replacements , rather than looking for a specific crystal.

Not to be a cunt but:
fully restored. ...
mint
Pick only one

Please stop feeding the ugly trolls.
We knew it, he knew it, you blew it

if it's fully restored to stock with new original parts, it's mint, dumbass.
