Educate me on the degree requirements to work in America Sup Forumsuize

I'm a Yuropoor and about to finish my undergrad CS degree (BSc), and I will go to grad school and do my Master's because undergrad is only 3 years here.

My school has some kind of agreement with an American university to get "combined" degrees. I.e. you study 1 year longer, do (lots of) coursework at both schools and get 2 MScs.

It doesn't sound bad at first, but if my goal is ultimately to work (not do research) in and move to the US, is this going to help me? Because it would mean a) I have to pay full tuition for my school (negligible because socialism lol) and the US school ($40,000 + housing and other bullshit) b) I practically can't work during that time because it's so much fucking coursework, and summer internships don't work either because the semester times overlap.

Is the debt + lack of work experience worth it for the additional piece of paper later or should I just do it the freeloader way and finish my "free" degree here, get more work experience meanwhile and get to the US when some international company here is doing a corporate office relocation (that sort of thing does happen), or just when they look for someone to go overseas?

The best thing you can do to eventually work in the US is to not do your Master's and get to work. Going for a straight Master's is probably the worst thing you can do for your career in tech if you plan on actually working and not just doing research.

>forget Master's it's completely useless
>get to work as soon as possible
>look for a job in US when you've got experience

If you still want a Master's then go do one after having worked for a few years.

Thanks. I'm not super inclined to do a Master's in the first place, either, but the situation is a bit different here in Europe and I have to consider this because I probably won't be able to work in the US straight away.

As I said, undergrad is only 3 years and postgrad is 2 years. The "5 year degree" is a pretty standard track and required for a lot of positions here, because a lot of companies don't want bachelor-only graduates (since they are straight out of school with only 3 years worth of a degree and usually not much work experience).

As far as my information goes, in the US a Master's degree is not that common anyway, only for research, because you have a 4 year bachelor and either directly fuck off to work or do a PhD straight away.

But anyway, it seems that spending an additional year just in school and acquire lots of debt is not going to really help my career, as I've expected.

Fuck off we're full, Mohammed.

Why does anyone want to come to the USA? I thought Europe was a socialist paradise. At least your not afraid of our wooden houses and 120v wiring.

>No muslims (in certain areas), lower taxes, more space, at least some integrity left as a nation

Those are my reasons anyway. I'm not much of a fan of socialism either and would prefer more of an American laissez-faire approach. But that doesn't mean I won't take advantage of it and finish my free degree here.

Because living in America is awesome if you have money. It really is. Just the space of it, to my European mind is boggling. Only Australia feels more spaced out but Australia feels too desolate at times and it's also hot as shit and it isn't a meme, the wildlife pretty much run the country, if they aren't house invading pests then they are fucking protected up the ass with laws.

The only problem with America is the people.

Im 35, have no degree, only a few certs and make well over $100/hr 1099. Get good at something on the operational level, start looking at the tactical level. Once you have that start looking at things on the strategic level. Build as many "friends" as you can through networking. If you are someone who can deliver and you're easy to work with money will come out of the woodwork. It's why sites like linkedin are so big here. Know when to buckle down and know when to ask for help. No one you want to work for expects you to conquer Rome in a day.

>The only problem with America is the people.

In second thought, stay the fuck out. We're full.

Was not me (the OP)

Why am I even defending myself?

But thanks to all your responses. I guess continuing to work is going to be the best plan. I'm already pursuing a meme degree, so no point in getting another piece of paper with a different school name on it.

See, Americans are assholes. Their country is not full at all. No American could live in Europe.

>See, Americans are assholes.

Because being nice always worked to prevent all those wars in Europe.

The definition of full is entirely up to the country and their ability to defend their borders

Yuropoors say the same thing

pls take me with u

Have you considered fucking off because we're full?

But OP why would you ever leave the greatest continent on earth?
>racially and culturally diverse
>high taxes to pay for equal society with chances for everyone
>small, cozy houses grouped together so you can always hear your neighbours in case you feel lonely
>small cars, we care about the enviroment:)
>guns are scary and more likely to kill your family and minorities than actual criminals

But I'm white :(

Oh nvm then, welcome aboard

>europeans
>white

the last white Europeean moved to America in the 1960s

You can only come if you promise to breed our corn fed heifers and make more white babies.

America isn't full at all.

Then explain the high rates of obesity.

How is too much food not a sign of underpopulation?

That's just further proof the country is not full.

I was making a joke.

If you harbor freedom in your heart, come on home brother.

fuck off we're full

Not them, but I thought it was funny.

>yfw you weren't born in American suburbs during the 70s
why even live?

But I was.
That looks like my grandma's house.

>See, Americans are assholes. Their country is not full at all. No American could live in Europe.

I was cool with it until I read the post about the Americans being the problem with America. The last thing we need is another entitled, opinionated European here spouting self centered bullshit based on their European ideals. Once you fucks are ready to accept the fact that the way you do things isn't the best way for everyone we can revisit this conversation. America is made up of many American nations who each do things differently. Things are done differently in LA than they're done in NYC, DC or KC. No one cares about your greasy opinion except other people who share it. As a whole I've noticed we've become less tolerant of Eurofags attempting to chastise us from their ivory tower of "how we do things in Europe".

Europe's fuck in the ass right now. Why would we want to emulate that? Deal with your own shot before you attempt to export your ideals.

TL;DR: Fuck off. We're full.

I just want to point out that there are 18 posters in this thread and I (the OP) didn't write that.
Otherwise I agree with you (although sadly I'm on the other side of the Atlantic and might not have so many people agreeing with me here)

>America isn't full at all.

Yeah we are. There's no room for opinionated twats with no relationship with reality. That's been filled by SJWs and the Europeans who beat you here. You've got to go down with your sinking ship.

>unironically wanting to live in the hell on earth that is American suburbia

Once again the American is the asshole. I called the country beautiful, a wonderful place to live.

>I just want to point out that there are 18 posters in this thread and I (the OP) didn't write that.

That's fine. I may work for a government agency that regulates travel but it's not the one that let's you into the country and I can't exactly say "don't let user in. He's a fag." since this is an anonymous pube braiding forum.

I'm just sick of entitled, opinionated, ethnocentric, Europeans constantly barking what they call a debate at anyone who'll listen. I've been all over Europe and Ireland and Germany are the worst. I just want to drink my beer, eat my wurst, and fuck a couple of bitches. I don't have time to hear why you think America is the devil for not providing food to the rest of the world or burning coal.

If you pull that shit in a lot of places in America you'll catch a bar stool to the face. Sit down, shut up and enjoy the time you're spending abroad. Try the local flair because despite what the beeb or RT tells you, American is awash in culture and tradition.

It is increasingly important the further into your career you get. You plant seeds early on with coworkers who will eventually hold seats of decision and power. I recruit almost exclusively from contacts I've made in the last 10 years. I've been doing this for 20 years.

>Once again the American is the asshole. I called the country beautiful, a wonderful place to live.

Whatever it takes to keep you from coming here.

The whole country is nothing but ticks and copperheads.

It's interesting that here in Germany both conservatives and lefties have a grudge against America.

The lefties just see the evil, racist, capitalist America (even though Germany is arguably quite racist in a lot of places), but even my pro-free-market conservative parents are not quite fond of America due to little things that have propagated over time (for example your weird Christian confessions instead of Catholicism), the fact that Alcohol is so strictly forbidden or the school shootings that have been over the media ("all Americans are mad!!!")

I'm not racist (I have some reservations against Islam but what you do in your free time is none of my business). My proposal to the refugee thing would be to cut welfare and let people in if they want to work and can get a job. Nothing wrong with that. Tell them to fuck off if they commit a crime during a grace period.
But here in Germany there is just one side who basically wants to shoot them all in the face and the other side who wants to have millions of them and increase taxes to 90% so everyone can get free everything.

I don't feel much at home here anymore. It's a country by psychopaths for psychopaths. Our history has shown that many times.

>there is just one side who basically wants to shoot them all in the face
Big surprise you feel the need to leave when you're this full of shit.

>My proposal to the refugee thing would be to cut welfare and let people in if they want to work and can get a job. Nothing wrong with that. Tell them to fuck off if they commit a crime during a grace period.

Learn from history. Don't invite the Visigoths into Rome.

Fuck off, we're full

Hey OP just wanted to make something clear

You're doing a 5-year plan, 3 years undergrad and 2 years post, for a Master's? If so, then I don't think it'll be equivalent to a Master's in the US (I don't know the nitty gritty).

In America, people usually get a bachelor's degree then head straight to work, unless the work field requires post graduate work, like medicine or psychology (medicine doesn't even require a bachelor's degree, I got into Med School without it).

I would suggest you finish the 5 years there as a resume builder and hey if it does equal a Master's here (which is 4 years undergrad then a couple more afterwards) then that's a huge boost to your resume on top of any experience you may have. Be sure to apply EVERYWHERE. Some companies want domestic workers that are familiar with US customs for demographic business/financing reasons, and some others would be more likely to hire for the "diversity" aspect.

Good luck to you man, and America isn't the only place to look for work and it's not the best but it certainly isn't the worst. We've got our own share of political issues currently to be fair. Every single religious and ethnic idiot is a retard on full blast.

>Incest-ridden Christian white families making $15k/year complaining about negroes
>Long-nosed Jews defending Israel
>Black-on-black crime at an all time high but blacks blame whites
>Rich oil company-based arabs not caring about politics at all

It's not great but it's not all that bad.
