HD7750
>55w card with no 6 pin
>66C Max temp
>Can be overclocked to 900mhz for a %10 performance boost

The bad
I have no complaints other than the temps getting up to 75C overclocked

GPU: Adreno 330
i dont like that it sucks

9800 GT
>6 pins
>???

The bad
>it's getting to fermi levels of temps
>old
>sucks
>map painting simulators are lagging on it

Bad: old, dying of old age

Bad
>Can rarely use all that power
>Power draw...
>Annoying radiator
>Crimson drivers are shit
>Probably going to blow up by the time I post this

GT650m
>It's in my laptop which is nice.
>Surprisingly capable.

Bad
>Throttles to stay within power envelope.
>Shit performance on anything unity

Gaming on a laptop is dumb but I live overseas and travel around a lot so it's the only way to play some vidya.

>9800 GT
Shit, you guys can say what you want, but I was 13 when that came out.

GTX 780

Good:
>Can match a moderately-overclocked 970 once overclocked itself
>Still performs well in most games

Bad:
>Performs like shit in some new titles solely due to Nvidia ditching driver optimisations for it
>Hot and power hungry

Still, I'll be rid of it in a few hours when my 1070 arrives.

HD7850

Pros:
> Economical in 2012 when I bought it
> Can run most games on max or everything but high shadows in 1080p at 60fps
> Stays frosty

Cons
> It's not Nvidia, so my Intel CPU hates it and constantly tweaks out when it comes to display connectors/drivers

The next card I buy will be Nvidia.

This card has been running for like 4 years, playing modern pretty modern games. It's only working now because I dont have any replacement for it now and Im waiting for my 1070 to arrive.

It did it's job, Ill grant it it's eternal rest.

fuck you Sup Forumsaggots

Iris Pro 580
>0 pin
>65w TDP shared with CPU
>great custom cooler options to keep it silent
>great driver support
Plays all the videos and games I throw at it while allowing me to have a computer in a tiny case.

Quadro FX1800

good: Linux support, CUDA cores for CUDA Hashcat

bad: not fast by any stretch of the imagination, only 64 CUDA cores, being dropped by NVIDIA.

GTX 1070

Good:
>60fps at 1440p
>ocs well
>cool for a reference fan
>great performance per watt

Bad:
>EVGA precision xoc program froze up my computer constantly and I thought it was the driver, not a fault with the card though, use afterburner
>Expensive, have a bit of buyers remorse despite being a real good card

I love discussing GPUs on Sup Forums because of people like you.

hd 5450

What i don't like?Everything, it's the shittiest GPU on the fucking planet

ITT: everybody posts, nobody responds. Why do we even have these threads?

R9 390 .
Good : it runs everything I need .

Bad: I don't play games that often

>HIS 290X

>Like
Good performance, especially for the price I picked it up for ($380AU, so $70 cheaper than the cheapest 970 at the time). Actually looks OK, imo, especially since it ended up matching my MOBO (z77 extreme4) and PSU, which is pretty wacky. Not too loud.

>Dislike
It is still a Sun localized within my PC even with the aftermarket cooler, regularly hitting 95℃ with pretty good airflow (2 fans blowing in, 2 out, 1 in the bottom blowing air up at it). Can get pretty loud at load.

Definitely want to get a card that runs cooler, or at least doesn't require aggressive cooling to keep it under control. It's kind of incongruous with all the other parts in my Define R5 which are, you know, quiet.

Isn't it past your bed time?

GTX 680
Good
>amazing performance per watt
>extremely capable
>got it for 85$ a few months ago

Bad
>shit drivers because jewvidia
>og owner stripped 3 screws on the card so its extremely dusty and hard to clean because muh blower fan
>2gb vram

How do you know what timezone I'm in? People post here from all over the world. I just woke up actually.

This thing runs games up to 2008 without breaking a sweat
But..it drains 120w max and it's hot as hell idles at 45 load up to 80c
Also old ass drivers.

These threads are way better than the threads where everybody's fighting about amd vs nvidia, here we talk about what we're actually using.

forgot pic

How do you guys tolerate using these old ass cards?

r9 380x

runs cool as fuck

crimson is the worst shit i've ever used

r9 390

Good: Oc'd to 1100 core without voltage increase, Never goes over 72C load, quiet

Bad: cost me over $500 NZD

>6870 died one day
>needed new cheap card
>bought used off some dismantling his SLI rig for less than a 750ti would have cost

i finally cooled mine after i installed a watercooler

Sapphire Tri-X cooler man, it's great

I have to, until my 1070 arrives at least which is gonna be like a month from now on.

Either this or fucking Intel HD graphics.

My needs aren't great, I play the original Halo and GTA san andreas, the old HD7750 rips through them while consuming barely any power, it'll even play Crysis maxed at 720p at 30fps but I don't really like that game.

I went from an HD 4870 to a GTX 1070, mind is fucking blown m8, mind fucking blown

Sucks you gotta wait a month though, got mine expedited in 2 days

I slapped a Kraken G10 + Corsair H60 and it is a beast, I OC'd to 1300 MHz and it stays at like 60 degrees

I built my rig before I got my 1070 and used Intel's integrated graphics for a while. I'm actually impressed that they can handle any games at all. Also I gamed on my laptop with a 750m before, this is a huge upgrade.

Nvidia gt650
Older but still plays every game I've thrown at it with at least medium graphics settings

R9 390
Good
>Enough for what I do
>Looks great
>Fits my NCase

Bad
>LOUD
>Memory clock goes to 1500MHz when using two monitors

Well, not quite sure if it's a month, depends if MSI decides to actually move their ass and send some cards here.
A month is the longest option, there is a chance that it'll come sooner(I fucking hope that it will, cant wait to play some witcher 3).

Driver version and use case? I've got one paired with a i7 3615qm. They get pretty toasty sharing the same heatsink and all.

2 Vapor X 290's

Pros
>good cards, should last a while

Cons
>not all games support crossfire

The Ugly
>Can't OC the best, but I mostly blame my case. I think I was only able to get +200
>3.5GB

I have a Dell Optiplex 7010 so you can get an idea of the airflow. Lowest this card idles at is 29 C and usually on average I would say it's 32 C

R9 Fury

Cool shit
>cool and quiet
>unlocked 3840 cores
>steamrolls everything maxed at 1920x1200, even downsampled
>god tier NNEDI3 card if you're into MadVR

Bad shit
>too new to use the drivers that worked with KOTOR and Riddick, ditto with the atioglxx.dll trick
>Radeonpro also acts cunty with it

MSI 580

hot and loud as fuck

R8 290X in crossfire both references

good
>decent performance per dollar

bad
>shit drivers
>loud as fuck
>hot as fuck
>idles at 60 fucking degrees
>fuck all game support
>AMD always late with decent game fixing drivers
>drivers do fuck all in most cases
>AMD Catalyst is pure cancer

can't believe i fell for the fucking AMD meme, i can't wait to get off this shit ride and get some 1080's. I am so fucking done with AMD you guys have no idea...

>7950

Its been a champ that has served me well for almost 5 years. But its getting to the point where eveb medium settings at 1440p is too much. But i mostly play autistic grand strategy games so i dont even know if i want to upgrade yet.

>32° C
Are you fucking retarded? Why would you complain about your temps and OC ability? Also Your case based on what I saw doesn't have the worst airflow, especially since you are getting those temps, though I know you are trolling anyways.

HIS HD4670 AGP

Good:
>arguably the most powerful AGP graphics card of all time (tied with the HD3850)
>smaller and consumes less power than the HD3850
>heatsink looks cool

Bad:
>no new drivers, using catalyst 12.3 at the moment

Neat

want one badly for my P4 socket 478 machine

GTX 670 FTW
Good
>Runs most games well
>fairly decent temps for blower style cooler

Bad
>Occasionally has to be re-seated as it shifts in the pci-e lane after a while
>2gb of Vram means low/medium settings in most newer games

Wow you own one of those I need them

amd 7870.

pros: still works
doom runs at medium pretty good
overwatch runs good

cons: drivers crash 3x a day and I fuckin hate it

SAPPHIRE HD 4650 1G D2 AGP

I love the XFX ghost cooler on my 7750, but that 4670 looks fuckin cool.

PowerColor R9 380

>Pros
>Decent framerates on high/ultra
>Cheap as hell
>Never reached over 80C overclocked
>backplate

>Cons
>Loud as fuck under load
>not a big upgrade from my 660ti

GTX 980 SC x2 (SLI)
-relatively low power usage (running both and a 4790k all overclocked on a 750w PSU)
-reference blower coolers so they look nice
-perform nicely at 1440p, especially when SLI co-operates

Bad
SLI seldom co-operates in 2016 with most new titles
Most applications never make use of SLI
No reason to upgrade until an HBM 2 offering (1080ti or 1180ti probably) so I have to wait quite a while.
Fucking SLI.

GeForce 9600 M GT
>works
>works with free drivers

bad:
>slow as fuck (it's faster than something like Intel HD 4000, but it's still slow)
>can't even get 200 FPS in osu!
>the performance in vidya is pretty much russian roulette with free drivers, and I have to use them, because Novidya won't update proprietary drivers for GNU/Linux

But hey, I can at least play osu with it.

iT PLAYS CRYSIS 2 ON 800X600

>CRYSIS 2 ON 800X600
That's a godsend for something with apg on it, very impressive.

Whatever the latest nVidia driver is
MBP (1GB GDDR5 version)

Overclocked to 1050/2500. They overclock like champs.

Good trick for heat is to underclock your CPU since most games are GPU bound and you don't need that CPU turboing up to 3.6 for no reason.

Real problem is it tries to stay under 85w combined load. GPU will throttle like crazy well before thermals are a problem.

ati radeon 7000.

Pros: runs lego island, diablo 1, and quake good
cons: drivers on windows 98 are a shitshow

>Electrolytic caps right on the heatsink
AT-WHYYYY

R9 280
>Gives 60 fps on overwatch
>But reaches 75-76C on ultra(not epic) settings
>And I have some spikes on some games(not only new games also on old games too)

Bad
>everything

im getting a r7 360 next week tho

...

>quake
You might as well run it in software.
Quake running at 320x200 is aesthetic as fuck.

Asus DirectCU II GTX 670

I don't like that it's constant +50c idle.

I like that it can still play the newest games even though it's 4 years old.

hard af on the 400 mhz k6-2

You ok user?

980Ti Lightning

mainly first world problems
8+8+6 pci-e power instead of 8+8+8
hard to color match with
pointless RGB LED when the rest of the card is black and yellow. most colors are going to clash

Nice system user, I love big heatsinks on things.

I actually have the 2 GB GDDR5 version in mine. I call her Sammy. MSI Afterburner?

Since no one talked about this:
MSI GTX 960 2g

Good:
>runs almmost everything in 1080p at ultra, just heavy games at high
>low TDP
>oc up to 1,54ghz staying around 70c
>I think is not bad for the price
>is nvidia, you know....working drivers!

bad:
>ram is not enough in very heavy games
>I think drivers are being fucked by nvidia. it was better when I bought it, but you need support for new games
>is nvidia so I have to fight with all my amd-fag friends and explain that it has fucking same performance/price of an amd gpu, that I am happy with it because runs clearly good in every situation, without a real conclusion

980ti classy
Got it for 450 and a waterblock for 60 a few days ago
Ocs to 1450 which sucks and extra voltage crashes it
Hopefully water makes it better

>I think drivers are being fucked by nvidia
I think the same thing is going on with AMD's Crimson, it made my HD7750 idle at 50C up from 45, and it ran a little shitter, I went back to Catalyst 15.7 and it lit the hell up, way cooler and faster.

gtx970

pros
>maxes out 1200p
>windforce cooler is chilly

cons
>3.5gb meme
>fans don't turn off at idle
>tfw I can never put my gpu in an itx case
>driver support is expected to go to shit soon.

will probably go back to amd for the next card.

I should mention that I'm buying Novidya next time, because of the driver support (especially nouveau).

>1080
mine ramps up to 78 temp with fans at 60% under load
I dont like its not watercooled, thats about it

GTX 670
>bretty good performance on release
>doesn't suck up a lot of power (100W less than my last card)

the bad
>didn't age gracefully (only 2GB VRAM)
>performs poorly in modern games
>reference cooler (biggest mistake of my life)

breh that gpu is 7 generations old, it was out 8 or 9 years ago.
they stop makeing drivers after a card hits 7 years old.
thats a given

i have a 780 in sli
never challanged,
the cards will die befor a game needs them both.
never over heats, just didnt want to upgrade for 3 more years.

Hey user! Is that a prebuilt? I have a Vostro 200 that I want to upgrade and might add a GPU

>7850
my nigger, best thing that i have bought. 4 years later and only upgraded the cpu, runs still like magic

r9 280x

Pros
>Runs everything on very high to utras @ 45+ fp
>most games run at 60fps

Cons
>going to need to upgrade for 4k
>3gb vram
>card that I have can't overclock past stock clocks without becoming unstable

there is no point to get that gpu, imo its the amd 6870 of its generation,
it will be replaced in 10 months by a truly better gpu that will somehow cost less.

Like
>dual 970ms
>never goes above 65C
>980 levels of preformance in a laptop
>room for over clocking
Dislike
>not going to be able to enjoy 1000 series mobile gpus..

It's a Dell Optiplex 745, and yes my card would work in your Vostro.

Old drivers are fine on windows, but on GNU/Linux games just refuse to launch at all, or run in software mode or something.

Considering that I don't care about new vidya, I could stay for 10 years with one GPU and be fine with it, because it plays games that I care about fine.

nVidia GeForce GPU (Alienware Alpha - basically a GTX 865M)

Enough performance for the couple games I still play.

Single HDMI 1.4 out. Have to use USB monitor adapters for the 2 other monitors.

Dude! I also have a Dell Optiplex 7010.
My Vostro has a Pentium 1.8GHz and 1.5GB of RAM, gonnna upgrade to a C2D and 4GB of RAM, and I wanted to throw in a GPU.

All I want it to do is play some games at 1366 x 768 and 1080p YouTube videos and shit posting.

I might seem like I dip, but should I also add a 200mm fan on the side panel?

C2D is enough for shitposting, but you have to make sure that you get a GPU for video playback if you want to watch youtube in a web browser.
Also, bloated websites can be kind of slow on a C2D (something like tumblr), so don't expect too much.
I'd recommend at least an i3 and 8 GiBs of ram for comfy web browsing.

ill be legit with you ,gnu/linux is a spiky dildo that fucks its users. sure it has its freedoms, but id rather just mod windows like i do,
ill mod win 7 into Armageddon sense they want to fuck us over with 10.
but why not just have a spare win7 crack disk for gameing?
i did that for a while.
but i abandoned linux for the reason you listed.
imo it makes mac look like an ok os. and that just unacceptable,
perhaps one day andriod will be a full on pc os in 10 or so years after windows tanks

GTX 285

+ Can play Skullgirls

- Cannot play Overwatch

Well, one can't have all the waifus, can he?

Wine-staging runs osu better on my computer, even compared to windows 10, and OBS just works better if I want to record a replay.

Also, I can't live without GNU Emacs, and it's gimped on windows, so I don't want to torture myself.

Oh, and windows uses too much ram, it's almost like I got a GiB of RAM for free when I swithced to arch.

I'm running a Q6600 and don't get too hot with no side or rear fan, you'll be fine especially with a dual core, I'm also running a 1366 panel (sadly) and it performs well on that res with 1GB of VRAM.

630m
Good
>temps never exceed 75C
>core overclocked to 800mhz, probably has more headroom left

Bad
>performance is bad as it's a 4 year old GPU that was low end when it came out

Hopefully, I will build a 6800/5820k system soon.

i have 16 gigs, so i never feel the ram pain,
i just gave win7 its own 200gig hdd.
it saves all the issues
but to each his own
linux users tend to be picky.
i dont have to use your pc, but i am going to say that you should probably get a 770 or 960.
keeps the struggles low
