Those displays look fucking manlet sized. I use a 40 inch 4k TV.

I have an Oculus Rift that can simulate arbitrarily many displays.

>having only one display for your desktop

>shit aint even connected
>shit is probably not even bolted to the table

why don't you stop being poor and get real monitor arms

If i wasnt a poorfag i would have 2 of these.

accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&cs=04&l=en&sku=210-AHSQ

4k for when you want it, 4 1080p displays for when you need it.

i use to run a 3-display setup

felt like the biggest virgin ever and immediately got rid of that shit when i noticed it and stripped down to a bro 1-monitor setup

got laid right afterwards

has the right idea, virtual reality is the only way to do it without looking like you have aspergers

Literally any 4k monitor will have PBP.

I only need two for productivity and gaymen but still have a third that's used almost exclusively for reading.
What the fuck would I do with a fourth?

its obviously a photoshop

>staring at a fucking wall with some shit strapped to your face while using your pc
That sounds like the most sperglord shit ever desu.

>staring at a fucking wall with some shit strapped to your face while masturbating
FTFY

I do though.

>Taping four small displays together and having 8 cords to manage is better than one larger high resolution display with two cords

my laptop has an intel gpu inside so it can only drive 3 monitors.

They look Photoshopped to me d e s u s e n p a i

>4 different model monitors

Literally worse than having 1 good one.

>not using four 40 inch 4k TVs.
shig

I have 3 4k 40 inch displays,

either that faggot has a huge ass head and body or he's using 4 tiny displays.

A 40" 4k display is the same as four 20" FHD displays except there are no bezels. Please do go on about how the 40" display is worse.

Yeah I'm not sure why Dell was so keen on advertising the fuck out of this feature. Every 4k monitor and even TVs have this feature.

I punched my second monitor and it broke

I was drunk

I think he was implying you should have 4 x 40" 4K monitors or something crazy like that.

Which would be kind of cool expect the part where you'd have to swivel your chair around to see all that shit, or be extremely far away.

Maybe it's the Mountain's bro who doesn't even lift.

Dude is so well proportioned that standing alone he looks fairly normal strongman, but when you put him next to a normal object you just see how ridiculously huge he is.

I only need my laptop and one extra monitor, anything more is overkill for me. I'm not a stock broker or some try hard.

what's the general consensus on ultrasharps?

4k/ 1080p for porn

My setup doesn't allow it. I used to have triple monitors (one was for a different computer but all controlled by the same keyboard and trackpad) but I sacrificed the third for room for my laptop dock. Now I basically use my secondary monitor for watching TV shows while I compute and my primary monitor as a monitor

Because I have 8.

4x2, why not 3x3 ?

I do not have a crippling physical or mental disability. Even having more then ONE makes you a retard.

Btw, Ubuntu is the best linux.

haha. I run 5 panels and also have a projector and a Vive in the mix and I get laid weekly. In fact everyone who sees my setup, it is in my living room, love it. There are a lot more variables at play as to why most of you dudes have issue with women(girls in most of Sup Forums's realm).

>monitor count has anything to do with getting pussy
What the fuck am I reading?

kek'd, no I meant 1 4K primary display and 1 secondary one. Maybe a 2nd 4k monitor if it's not fuckhuge

I used to have a three monitor setup, then as monitors died on me that dwindled to two, and now one.

One monitor only has forced me to use workspaces, which made me realize that you don't need that many monitors. But there are still times where workspaces don't cut it.

So two monitors is the sweet spot, or one large 4K monitor. But I'm broke, so fuck me.

My desk is shit and can hardly fit two monitors, let alone four. ;_;

What's an appropriate amount of money to spend on a 4k monitor?

2 of them are the same. I could have 3 of the same but my benq is better than my old acer.

i never rolled quads so im not worthy

>virtual reality is the only way to do it without looking like you have aspergers
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

I've only got one port to work with so I'm stuck with dual monitors

youu are the biggest speglorg in this thread if you think chicks care about your computer setup

frankly if she isn't down with the triple head she's not worth fucking anyway.

Check my quads

my laptop can support a few monitors, but driving a pair of 4k monitors (as i have) would be a real pain in the ass. the fans would go crazy non-stop. i ended up building a (really pretty low-end) desktop and loaded it up with hard drives and a GPU that supports DP1.2

it might seem kind of crazy, but with teleport (or synergy if you use multiple operating systems) you get this surreal experience of extended desktops without having to plug anything in. considering that my laptop is my primary device, it sort of makes "docking" like this surreal futuristic thing where I just plug in and (when the laptop recognizes the network) it sort of magically sorts out the other monitors.

I've used Synergy before, it's great

I don't pretend I do anything that needs 4 screens, neither should you or any fag posting here.

Who said anything about needing four monitors? I don't need a lot of things, doesn't mean I won't have them.

yeah. it's kind of surprising that this isn't designed into external monitors. i suspect if apple is being really ambitious they might do something like this (high bandwidth wireless dedicated spectrum for wireless external displays, maybe driven by an integrated GPU, as has been rumored).

also when i say "plug in" in i mean plug in power. which (obviously) you could just not do as well.

>using a TV as a monitor
That's fucking repulsive. Do you have eyes?

it's some Sup Forums trope or something. these people honestly don't understand that the appeal of 4k is to have it in a ~24" monitor and scale everything to 2x.

in before people who literally, after 4 fucking years, don't understand why a retina display is nice.

4k at 40" is exactly the same as 4xFHD 20" monitors tiled 2x2 PPI and resolution wise, having no bezels like you would with multiple monitors sounds pretty appealing to me.

so you'd rather have no bezels than have significantly sharper text and other visual assets?

This sounds like something a gamer would say. It really just sounds like all your priorities are in getting the most immersive gaming experience.

Which is fine, but people who do things like read text and do work for a living will seriously appreciate a 4k monitor packed into the space a 1080p monitor would take much more than a sprawling 40" display on their desk.

It's the same reason people like the rMBP screen. Everything being sharper turns out to be a pretty nice feature.

Yes

Oh I'm not saying it's better than high pixel density, just that given the choice of 4x 20" FHD monitors or 1x 40" 4k monitor, hands down I'd go for 4k. I'm not saying it's the way to go, just that it's not just disadvantages.

See I don't game at all. Just pointing out that a 40" 4k monitor wouldn't be pointless.

oh, sure, but between 4k@40" and 4k@24" i would definitely and without hesitation choose the 24" monitor.

i can understand if your operating system's support for pixel scaling is still kind of garbage, but my sense is that most do it at least passably well by now. if you're using os x and you're familiar with/currently using a rMBP (or i guess a retina macbook) then i would find it shocking if you still felt you wanted 4k@40"

and i can understand too if you think this makes it a mac vs pc thing or something, but instead i see it as this: if everyone who uses a high density display on their laptop insists on that in their desktop displays, and the people who have little/no ongoing experience with high density displays are sort of randomly distributed, then it suggests that the experience is influential.

I've never seen a "retina" display and person and can hands down agree that I'd take higher PPI over a larger screen.

...

Fake photoshopped image. There are no screws holding the stand to the desk

It's a fucking stock photo you idiot.

what difference does that make. The monitors would fall off the desk the stand isnt secured and its right on the edge of falling off
