>A file named "UpgradeSubscription.exe" is found buried in the System32 folder of Windows 10 build 14376. ZDNet reports the file has been recently uncovered.
>"In the file's properties, it's described as the Windows Upgrade to Subscription Tool, and its date and time stamp corresponds to other administrative tools in the same build," reports ZDNet.
>The presence of that file is certain to ignite speculation among conspiracy theorists who were convinced in the run-up to the initial release of Windows 10 that the year-long free upgrade offer would turn into some sort of paid subscription.
Remember cucks, there's no downgrading to Win8/7 now. Enjoy your lifetime of giving monthly payments to MS for keeping Windows 10

You are implying we have a problem with this.
If Netflix can charge a subscription, why not Microsoft?

Ultimately it depends on how limited the "free" version is.

99% chance that gaming will be their target...notice how focused on gaming M$ is & how they r making x1 games exclusive to w10
for gaming you will need subscription

Once you have upgraded your Win7 system to Windows 10, your Win7 license gets 'subsumed' into the Windows 10 license. It can no longer be used to install Windows 7 as it is no longer valid.

Let's assume that what that user said is true, what's stopping me from using an activator for w7?
Blake Butler
The objective fact remains that the Apple MacBook Pro with Retina Display doesn't have this problem.
Dominic Jackson
I don't know... Botnet included in the activator?
Christopher Cooper
It does if you install Windows 10
Sebastian Watson
Nothing. Also it's not true. Only thing the license prevents is that you can't have 7 with that license and 10 you upgraded from in use at the same time. I don't know if using both at the same time deactivates the other or what but that's the most it does.
Jackson Davis
One update that you will have to remove, other than that, nothing can stop you.
Adrian Rodriguez

>I don't know if using both at the same time deactivates the other or what but that's the most it does. It does. I pirated both in a multiboot setup, upon clean installation and activation of windows 10 I had to re-run the windows loader for 7 afterwards.
Jordan Powell
Except for the one update Microsoft pushed out that cripples daz loader, which you can just remove.
Dylan Harris
Been able to pirate Win 7, use a keygen and still get updates for many years now. The license is completely meaningless.
Same for Win 10 btw. Who the fuck pays for Windows.
John Parker

"The Windows Upgrade to Subscription tool, found in the latest Windows Insider builds, helps to manage certain volume licensing upgrades from Windows 10 Pro Anniversary Update to Windows 10 Enterprise. This binary file is not associated with the free consumer upgrade offering nor is it applicable to consumer Windows editions."
Nice try.
Asher Sanchez
Anything that isn't the official source is assumed compromised. You need to bail on that Windows installation ASAP senpai.
Dominic Murphy
Microsoft has been saying they were moving towards subscription since they launched Azure and Windows 7.
Really isn't surprising, they will eventually include LTE service as part of the subscription cost to try and act as a middle man between you and your ISP to jew you out of even more money.

Top kek, there's a shitload of software now that requires Win10 only and literally nothing is stopping M$ from paying software/game companies to make their products win10 exclusives and then you're pretty much fucked, I doubt that most people would bother trying to get their shit working on a pre win 10 system, so they'll just buy win 10 subscription and stay cucked for the rest of their life and you would have the choice of using outdated software on your win 7 system or becoming cucked.

>there's no downgrading to Win8/7 now Sure there is. If Microsoft starts charging a subscription for things I need that Windows 7 or 8.1 has then I'll downgrade then. Not that they will. That big scary .exe is used when you upgrade to Enterprise. I swear the tinfoil hats around here must be cutting off blood flow.
Austin Rogers

Because it's in a insider preview build
Jack Jenkins
Microsoft already have a bunch of subscription products, Office 365 being the biggest one.
Not that I have any proof, but I'd think this would be a tool to upgrade the pre-packaged retail version of Office to Office 365, or the pre-installed OEM trial version to a full Office 365 subscription.
There's zero indication Microsoft are planning to make Windows some kind of subscription product, it hasn't been a significant profit driver for them for over a decade, they're just going to charge for new licences and stop the free upgrades on July 29th.

microsoft making people pay for windows via a subscription, would be the end of them as every single trade commision, and consumer rights, groups would sue the shit out of them, microsoft would be better sticking to hardware, OEM subscriptions, and enterprise,as they all obviously make more than windows licenses.
Caleb Butler

I love it. Every time a new build of Windows 10 comes out, fucking Lincucks have to put down their asthma inhalers and run off to find some MYSTERIOUS FILE and/or registry key/setting that definitely 100% proves Windows 10 is taking photos of your desktop, is sending actual personal files back to them, or will turn into a pay-for-play walled garden/digital jail, and all your old Windows license keys will crumble to dust. I'm never going to run out of popcorn at this rate.
