While dd was taking a shit, I made a program to split a file with a speed of 100MB/s average. dd maxed out at 1MB/s.

>java
l0l

Yeah, I'm sure your Java implementation solves many problems that the authors of dd failed to consider.

>yava

Yes, yes it does.

>bs=16
nice try faggot

>bs=16
no wonder its taking forever.
Slap that shit up to at least 16k

bs=16 Wtf dude
can't even learn your tools before you waste everybody's time?

>bs=16
Nice bait.

even better bs=4M

Try it then faggots everything above bs=4 says it cant skip to the data

>java

...

because skip is calculated in number of blocks dumbass.
read the fucking man pages
I really doubt your file is that big.

So bs is also valid for skip? Who wrote that like this?

And also, I don't read man pages, I wipe the man directory to save space. If I cant figure out how a program works with --help I write my own.

you really want to skip halfway into a block?
the man directory takes at most 100mb
you can also google "dd manpage"

dd --help shows this
> skip=N skip N ibs-sized blocks at start of input

>dd maxed out at 1MB/s.
Because you're not using it right. Set the blocksize to something normal.

Looks like shit desu

Please stop blogging, you will never be him. Get over it.

You mean [image_of_terry_davis.ogv]?

Linus wrote programs that he needed since he made the mistake of buying fringe/unsupported computers. Terry A Davis wrote an operating system for God, big difference. We can't go around comparing any pleb to the prophet Terry.
