nasa really is stuck in 1960.

debian is the most normie server os not a big surprise

Is it really any surprise that an American government institution would stop using a product line the moment it got handed from an American company to a Chinese one?

This. Thinkpad is a meme since it became lelnovo

>prefers
Only because they get them for free.

Use whatever, their servers are probably running Linux or something. Employees feel more invested when they have the illusion of having their own equipment on their ends.

Yes, NASA employees prefer iToys for their presentations, but look what runs on the international space station

>le nasa lieks max maymay

Apple will no longer pay you the extra shilling hours, pajeet.

...

NASA fag here there is a pretty broad range of laptops most of the young guys use macbooks while I've seen old heads use thinkpads and Dells. It really depends on the person desu though.

>saying "maymay"
kill yourself

As someone who has done extensive tech support for NASA, they use a little bit of everything.

It's kind of interesting, there are a couple of homegrown Linux variants.

international /= NASA

underrated

If you weren't in such a hurry to shipost, you'd notice all their main machine are running linux.

International > NASA

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you’re referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called “Linux”, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project. There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use.
Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine’s resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called “Linux” distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.

>1877
Even if you meant 1977 there were no laptops then you fucktard. Go be a stupid pajeet somewhere else.
