A10 is pretty ebin.

Even better stuff is coming this year with new generation of consoles coming.

A8 APUs are pretty alright for $300 and under gaming rigs

and my FX 8 core just werks

As long as you don't get a dedicated graphics card and use fast ram, it's fine for regular use, wouldn't recommend for gaming though.

>AMD A-10

Don't those have shitty wattage?

Athlon x4 845

i3 6100 is vastly superior.

Maybe zen (released ~December this year or q1 next year)

APUs are master race, can't wait to sell my gaming rig for a Zen APU with HBM2 on package

>i3 6100 is vastly superior.
If your budget is $400, and you don't need the better iGPU of the A8 APUs

They bottleneck with actual dedicated GPU's... I have a APU myself.

Yes.

If you live in 2004.

Op asked for good cpu not igp or apu.

So as i said i3 is vastly superior as a CPU.

>Op asked for a good AMD cpu
FTFY

cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/AMD-Athlon-X4-845-vs-Intel-Core-i3-6100/m84491vs3511

20% better, 40% more expensive

It will be extremely painful without dedicated graphics though.

But Sup Forums told me that if someone criticizes amd is an nvidiacuck shill even if he's using amd hardware only :P

At the moment? Nope.
I want Zen to be good, I want to believe in Jim Keller, but AMD has been letting me down for 5 years now. They have had some good stuff happen like winning consoles, using open standards, and finally putting free drivers on Linux, but it still isn't enough.

Not as painful as having more than 50% less st performance.

Same here but i wait more for the normal Linux drivers since Windows 10 is kill for any AMD hardware

>hey have had some good stuff happen like winning consoles

How is this a good thing again?

Ever heard of the 5350? Amazing price/performance.

I mean good things in the general sense. It's good for them, but I don't give two shits since I haven't bough any current generation console.

It's going to depend on the game and weather you've OC'd it to 4ghz or higher, you should still be able to hit 60fps in most games, I used a 5800K with a 7850 2GB for years at 1080p

>MFW Planetside 2 brings my FX-8320 to its knees during 96+ battles
VANU SMILES UPON ME

I liked the Athlon II 2 and 3 core chips cuz you could unlock the 4th core. They are shit now tho, you can buy better processors off ebay for pennies.

You're a big guy

AMD gets money which keeps them alive and funds R&D that improves the products that you do care about

8350 works for me, but I wouldn't by one now, it came out in 2012 and zen is coming

What does this meme mean? Seen it only a few times now after being here for a little over a year.

I'm perplexed by these benches: anandtech.com/show/10337/the-intel-broadwell-e-review-core-i7-6950x-6900k-6850k-and-6800k-tested-up-to-10-cores/8
Is there really no reason for me to upgrade my 8320 on my home gaming box?

Not yet. Zen soon though.

not bad user

Wait for Zen or buy a FX-8320/8350/8370.

1090T/1100T.

A8 or better (FX)
Never A4

no, fm2+ is dead and so is am3+, wait for zen for anything decent

No.

Athlon X4 845 is decent

>tfw fx6300
It sickening

They suck.

860k is alright by me but I'm still going to upgrade to zen sometime next year.

Get the fuck out

i have an a10 but it doesn't feel any faster than the e6750 i had

Good thing this is an anonymous image board.

You'll never find me outside this thread :^)

my fx8350 hasn't disappointed me. Not sure what it competes with on the intel side though

Witcher 3?

If you're going extreme budget, the FX8350 is good. No point in getting anything with fewer cores or a lower or higher clock speed.

Pretty much the only good AMD CPU..but there are probably some decent APUs out there. No doubt Summit Ridge will BTFO any other integrated graphics solution

yes

Need my new GPU to get here faster so I can play it in ultra

8350 and 8370 are ok and they oc to 4.8ghz with ease. giving them very good perf/$

in my country i can get an i5-6500 for the same price.

I've had FX-6300 with HD 7870 for 2 and a half years and it's still playing the new games with good settings. I would like to upgrade and see games at their best but I'm saving up for a house, I can't go spunking hundreds on vidya.

Not really at this time. Ask again after Zen cores ship and we get to see their performance/clocking/heat/costs for ourselves.

If not for driver overhead, APUs could be so much better.

Yeah this. I suspect Zen will be more "normal", i.e. a bit slower, hotter and cheaper than Intel but still useful.

Just because it's hard to suck as bad as piledriver did. I mean, that was really, really bad.

If not for your paid shilling, this driver overhead meme would die

>league
>tokushit
>this bad taste
just kill yourself

I have a A-10 5800K, OC to 4.0Ghz.

It's shit. Windows 10 loads in 2 fucking minutes. It loads faster in a single core laptop.

>league
how retarded are you user?

Is this bait? Dota is probably older than you are.

sorry i don't recognize which mobas are which because i don't play shit fucking games

So what's shitty about dota?

Just an FYI though, the "octocores" are not true 8 cores

>he doesn't like tokukino

neck yourself

"True" is pretty relative. I prefer to think of my 6350 as three module with good multithreading.

You're still getting eight threads with the 8350, which is going to be standard soon. Plenty to match the low clocked Jaguar CPU in the PS4

Is this a loli moba?

Didn't they just land that Mac deal? we'll see how those turn out

coming from a devout AMD user, no.

I don't get it

I have an fx8350 and my motherboard is shit. (Early revision gigabyte 990fxa ud3) can't get a stable over clock since moving up from a 4300, MOSFETs get super hot even though I made a fan mount directly above them, and I suspect that it's recently causing my GPU to throttle after coming out of sleep mode (although not entirely certain it's the cause) should I get a new mobo now, or wait for zen, or switch to the dark side?

>Only 3 good fucking comments

Someone is hating AMD and samefagging or Sup Forums is fucking dead.

It depends. They can't really compete with intel's high end but they're pretty good for cheapish builds.

Why not both?

Really though, half the idiots here are just spec whores and don't care that AMD puts out decent price/performance, they just want to spend a fortune on core i7's then spend all day shitposting on Sup Forums.

Or maybe AMD is shit , Intel offers cpus that are 2x faster single threaded for a 250 buck price
AMDs summit ridge better be priced 250 for the 6 core and 325 for the 8 core

AMD CPUs are alright, I wouldn't use one though but that's mainly because I'm a hackintosh user and AMD CPUs are a bitch to get working.

If you want a cheap and runs decent AMD cpu go with either one of the FX-6300 series. If you want more get an FX-8350. I'm also a devout AMD guy having built many rigs to that standard but I gotta say, it's starting to look more like getting an Intel build and supporting the jews may be the way to go now.

>driver overhead
What

It's a real issue

>r7 270x

I thought its called r9 wtf

m.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/49iy75/what_is_cpu_overhead_and_why_is_it_higher_on_amd/

AMD has such cpu's they have to use Intels when showing off their deep fat fryer new gpu's

Concur. A10 is a fire and forget CPU. Only gaymens would complain

is there a way to disable the gpu part of my 6800K so i can maybe oc the cpu or something cause of heat?

>325 for the 8 core
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

>disable the gpu
>6800K
You fucking retard.
ark.intel.com/products/94189/Intel-Core-i7-6800K-Processor-15M-Cache-up-to-3_60-GHz

>APUs are master race, can't wait to sell my gaming rig for a Zen APU with HBM2 on package

That's not going to happen.

>what is an A10 6800K
you fucking retard.

man it's Jim Keller it'll fine

Jim Keller is god but AMD's enormous drag factor should not be underestimated. AMD is determined to disappoint so really the best you can hope for is that AMD doesn't find a way to shoot themselves in the food and just throws away all of keller's work to release some garbage instead.

AMD will do everything in their power to make Jim Keller's work into a massive pile of shit. AMD is just so fucking awful these days.

You can play most games fine with an fx-8320, it won't bottleneck

It's an APU, why did you get it if you are going to disable the igpu?

i found it for cheap, and needed something for light gaming. getting a 960 soon so i thought maybe there was a way to trade the igpu power for cpu power. or something.

No, not in the last decade or so.

i like my 1090T tho

Keller or not it doesn't really matter because AMD doesn't have fabs anymore and has to use 3rd parties like Global Foundries to manufacture their chips.

None of them have suitable 14nm/16nm process for high clocked (4GHz) high performance CPUs.

Even if Zen is going to compete in performance per clock they have no hope of reaching frequencies much over 3GHz because GloFo 14nm process is shit.

yeah like how improved the 480 are

>HEY GUISE ITS GUN BE BETR AND CHEAPER THAN NVIDIDIDIA

>its more expensive and worse than 970, 1060 is reking it

Just wait for Zen

Man, AMD is fucking trash.

I have an 860k paired with a 7950 and they do the fuckin job. still running games at 1080p 60 FPS.

Dx12 should fix it, but I'm definitely avoiding AMD for a while.

Low quality trash
