>no auTIsmo-84
i'm disappointed

What kind of smartphone is this?

...

...

your phone can do 100x as much

This is all I really ever need. I've never really needed a calculator but yet again I've only completed AP Calc (so far).

I fucking hate this shit. Was forced to use it, never got used to it in college.
It is usefull but somehow I hate you.

Proprietary but it go the job done for my calculus 3 labs

My Casio was enough for high school. Does really a lot for it's price.

just use octave if you want FOSS. It has most of the functions built in. a lot of graph shit and some functions doesn't work well or aren't implemented so don't expect a drop in replacement

>using a calculator that can't triple integrate

...

Sounds good. I didn't think there was going to be anything FOSS that could replace matlab, though I am interested in any 3D graphing utility

GOAT calculator i love that damn calculator but the ti-83 calculators are just pure cancer to use

...

...

...

People working in the financial sector swear by that thing. 35 years and nothing has changed, other than a slightly faster processor. They could've made it even faster but market research showed that people didn't trust the results given by the calculator if it appeared onscreen too quickly.

This guy

probably the best on market in the category

Not even my Nspire can do triple integral so I just gave up on ever having a calculator do that and get a 36x

I love mine, use it more than my 50g

if you want functional, use R.
It is vastly better if all you use is the scripting part.
The syntax is a lot more forgiving than octave/matlab.
And with octave, you miss out on the big parts of matlab, like the toolboxes.

So if you need the toolboxes, use real matlab.
If you just want to calculate something and plot it, use R

dude literally everyone except the autist in my class has a ti83/84

>$19
>poorfag cant afford a 12C

What calculator do you use and why is it better than a TI-83/84?

Step aside faggots.

TI-Nspire CX CAS

ti-89

>his calculator doesn't do base-n conversions
>his calculator doesn't do unit conversions
>his calculator doesn't do modular arithmetic

My dad has been using that calculator since before I was born. It's like a member of the family.

wtf is all this nerd shit, i just want to calculate how much change ill get after shopping

i own a ti84 plus beside it, but i hate that one because of the huge bulk and battery usage. The fx-991ex was perfect for every calculations that i needed so far, it's solar, and the input interface is comfortable and flexible. Only that it doesn't do graphing, but i'm yet to see a solar graphing calculator on the market.

>tfw you fell for the ti-84+cse meme
>processor as fast as the black&white one but with a color display so evrything is slow

Then why are you using a scientific calculator. A $5 wal-mart throwaway calculator can do that just as well.

did they solve the bug though?

I'm just pulling your leg, fampai

Got the same one. It's beat to shit but still reliable.

Cell phones are good when precision doesn't matter, but TI-84 plus silver edition will get you through college and then some.

The human brain is a great calculator, but sometimes is prone to error.

and it's slow.
(there are exceptions though)

>Any Texas instro that's 80 and up can be programmed to do whatever you want.

Is octave better than maxima?

...

Somebody in a soundcloud thread on Sup Forums used this to create drone music.

...

Used it in uni for DSP modules.

>Take chemistry class
No calculator allowed. Do all this stoichiometry and long division by hand :)
>Take Organic Chem class
Memorize all these reactions even though you can easily look them up :)
>Take Physics class
No calculator allowed. Do all this menial arithmetic by hand :)
>Take calc class
No calculator allowed. Do all this menial arithmetic by hand. Also memorize trig derivatives and anti-derivative even though you can just look them up :)

My ti98 is just collecting dust
What the fuck is wrong with higher education in the US? Fuck the STEM meme.

no log/exp, no trigonometrics
not even fucking brackets

whats the point then?

>CPUs in cell phones magically calculate differently than CPUs in calculators
