This will go extinct in your lifetime thanks to Apple

>this will go extinct in your lifetime thanks to Apple

Feels good, man. No more tangles or snapped cables ever again. Freedom! :)

Gr8 b8 m8

>Freedom
>Apple

Subtle bait. You're good.

>literally how i hook speakers to my computer
>going extinct
??????????????????????????????

>wireless audio

I own a soldering iron and a shed full of components, I'll never have to stop using the 3.5mm socket if I don't want to.

F you powersaving Bastard

As long as it's BT 4.0 quality is fine now.

B-but batteries?

I don't buy Apple devices anyway, it's only going to extinct for macfags.
Just because Apple builds notebooks with a single USB port doesn't mean you can get plenty of other ones with multiple USB connectors, mic and headphone jack, hdmi/dp, ethernet etc.

3.5mm sucks fucking ass. I'd say at least half, if not more, of my 3.5mm to RCA cables are fucked in some way

I don't know what the alternative is (I hope it's not wireless, as my 30 year old stereos obviously don't have that), but the future can't be worse than 3.5mm

>I'd say at least half, if not more, of my 3.5mm to RCA cables are fucked in some way

And I say that none of mine are so perhaps the issue lays with you?

You know who never complained about having a 3.5mm port? Only everyone.

Yeah just gotta buy the 19.99€ adapter to get it back

INNOVATION

The future is most likely going to be wireless and USB C, enjoy

But wireless IS the future.

Sony is going wireless. Audio Technica is going wireless. Sennheiser is going wireless. Bose is going wireless. Koss is going wireless. Beats is going wireless.

It's 2016. Time to get with the times, gramps.

All hail 2.5mm audio jack!

I buy most of mine used (Value Village, $1 each, so I can have a few without spending a lot) so maybe that's the issue

but even then, the cables look completely fine, yet I always lose one of the channels

I bought a pair of $5 bluetooth head phones from some local shit chain.

Took them apart and soldered an male 3.5mm to the speaker out on it and use it on my $400 headphones. Batteries last like 11hr if you keep it playing non stop which is easily enough. It wouldn't be hard to quadruple that with a 18650 and a sled.

>Time to get with the times

That's not an argument. Wireless is unreliable.

So you use $400 cans to listen to SBC encoded audio?

I've got an old bakelite radio with a 2.5mm mono jack on it.

It's neat.

>wireless is t3h future

just like wireless mice and keyboards

Fuck that. 5mm is where it's at :>

Literally no quality difference between the hacked up BT "adapter" and running it across HDMI, 3.5mm port from on-board sound or either DAC.

>not 6.3 mm

There is. Audio gets encoded into an extremely bad lossy codec for bluetooth transfer.

The only escape is aptX. $5 bluetooth headphones don't support it.

Most peripherals use some kind of proprietary technology, like most of the garbage Logitech shits out. Bluetooth isn't the problem, the implementation or even lack of it is.

They just want to explore another market branch they aren't killing off the stuff they already make.

Audio technica would go bankrupt before they ever considered getting rid of cables, their shit is used on a lot of places, not just minimalist laptop meme audiophile setups.

Suture, because vacuum tube acoustics and electrostatic headphones went extinct

>this will go extinct in your lifetime thanks to Apple

Feels good, man. No more discs or snapped discs ever again. Freedom! :)

>TFW your computer's drives are PATA
>You have a seperate CD-ROM and DVD-RW drive
>You still have a floppy
>Yet your PC still has up-to-date spec

What's it like just wilfully stripping options from yourself?

>What's it like just wilfully stripping options from yourself?

what's it like being stuck in the 90s?

>No more tangles or snapped cables ever again.

actually this feature is genuinely cool for me. how many headphones ive bought in my lifetime is kinda crazy.

In what way am I stuck though?
It's not like there's anything a computer lacking those things can do which mine can't is there.

why are there a graphic of blue intestines on that guitar?

Bluetooth is too battery drainy by design, at least compared to unifying.

Bootable USB drives are faster and have no moving parts.

...

I have a serial card installed right under my GTX 970. I also have a USB floppy drive.

Can't tell if trolling but that is a top made of quilt maple.

Yeah they have wireless models
But then explain why all their best performance, their top of the fucking line, their absolute premiums

Are all wired

Listen to yourself, you really are a fucking dumbass

>Literally the most standart port on laptops and computers

>Going extinct

Applefags are even more delusional than I thought

What do you need an internal floppy drive for? Outsource that crap, son.

>quilt maple
i had to look that up
all i saw were blue intestines

>but the future can't be worse than 3.5mm
At least 3.5 can be inserted any way. The future CAN get worse.

He does realize that Apple wasn't the first one to do this to laptops, right???

>Snapped cables
wtf are you doing with your headphones, user?

Personally, I would like it if the USB ports can be used for audio. I believe USB can handle better transmission and output more quality sound.

I think.

I'm no electrician.

>their best performance, their top of the fucking line, their absolute premiums
>picture
oh, user.

usb can and is used for audio
though that also requires all the analog hardware (the dac/amp) to be in the device, as usb is digital

Yeah Orpheous
Literally can't exist without cables, what's your point? It's the best of the best

looks like i got schooled. didn't know you need that stuff to listen to audio in HQ.

thanks for the info user!

Well, like it or not, but Apple is pretty innovative. They do something new and do it well. Then, in one year other companies start to produce things with the same features. Sometimes better, sometimes worse.

>Speakers through a jack
>Not HDMI, Optical, SP/DIF

>ITS [current year]!

>snapped cables
Non-apple products don't have this problem. :^)

Retard.

the wheel: reinvented

Nah, I just keep using things with a 3.5mm jack.

>the wheel: but square

Apple will extinct in the lifetime of the jack.

fuck proprietaty connectors and hardware.
It didn't serve Sony well, it never served anyone well.

Apple is a shit, praise chinkphones.

>between the hacked up BT "adapter
The difference is that you will have to have your soundchip in your headphones.
And that's not too easy with earplugs.
Not to mention you will have to charge your earphones as well as if smartphone wasn't bad enough.

Btw have you tried Snapdragon new cool sound ship?
I have, and it is AMAZING, difference like between integrated PC audio and discrete audio.
Go for it.
