>runs K-9 Mail, ProtonMail, Signal, Conversations, SecureSMS, and other open source software on his Android phone to "avoid the botnet" >still has Google Play Services installed >he doesn't know that Google Play Services is a system-level app that reads everything that has a notification, so when you get that "secret message" from your buddy on Signal, Google Play Services can read and collect the notification you got and access keywords, names, and other data.
Why haven't you uninstalled the Google-created rootkit spyware that is Google Play Services, Sup Forums?
Don't you know that Google Play Service has access to everything on your phone and can read whatever shows up in your notifications?
Why do you try to "avoid the botnet" when you still run a system-level Google rootkit on your phone? Because you need to watch those funny Youtube videos?
Bentley Bell
I like trying out apps, even if I will delete them within an hour and never look back.
Justin Watson
But I have, like a year ago.
Wyatt Cook
Because I'm not a terrorist and I have nothing to hide.
Kayden Reyes
But I use microG, and the only proprietary application with access to everything is the Play Store?
I can still fucking use Youtube and the various chat applications..
Also, you're heavily overestimating what Play Services can do.
Zachary Walker
microG
Elijah Turner
If you have nothing to hide please give me your bank account details. Does microG work if I freeze play service?
My play store has stopped working.Right now I'm using apkpure to sideload apps.
I get this "unfortunately play store has stopped working" pop-up while using my phone. It randomly reboots after ten minutes/screen timeout/screen gets locked. Most of my apps have stopped working.sdmaid, play store, clover, nova launcher prime, swiftkey to name a few.
How do I troubleshoot this? Is it worth the hassle or should I freeze all Google apps?
Will my paid apps work if I go with microG?
I'm rooted and running android 4.4 if it matters.
Wyatt Hughes
>memeing this hard
Julian Morris
What the hell is sideloading? How is it different from downloading something off of your lan?
Thomas Ross
wat
Lucas Adams
GPS is not that powerful
Mason Roberts
Had a phone without Google Play Services, used FDroid, APKMirror and such. But how the hell can I receive notifications?
Brandon Green
surrrrrrre
Brandon Brooks
are you being serious?
Ayden Barnes
>Implying google can't track you even with gapps removed.
Jason Cruz
Paid apps that require license recognition won't work. One time recognition apps will.
Adam Cook
On a Nexus 5 without Play Services since 2014. Haven't looked back since.
Tyler Campbell
Replicant.
Asher Martinez
Why would I go out of my way to give you my bank account details? There is a high probably of you using it to buy a bunch of dragon dildos. This risk isn't there with a large public company who is actually held accountable for their actions.
Easton Scott
Or you could just stop using a mobile OS developed by an ADVERTISING COMPANY
Carson James
Google Play Services is just a bunch of formerly core android capabilities that have been built out into an app/library so that users don't need to rely on OEM OS updates to get new versions of some services, and developers can target those services easier.
Google can track everything you do on your phone regardless of what you have installed.
Luis Long
>android >not templeos fucking cia nigger
Ian Brooks
> held accountable for their actions. Normalfag detected
Nicholas Gray
>Why haven't you uninstalled the Google-created rootkit spyware that is Google Play Services, Sup Forums? Because it breaks lots of apps. Broken contacts sync, no calls in signal, no skype, no banks clients, no play store (eg no app updates). If you dont want google botnet, just block it with firewall.
Jordan Sullivan
We would but nothing else works just as well.
Joseph Allen
I use open source software because it's generally better and because I'm not made of money. Thinking you can own any type of internet connected device and not be vulnerable to prying eyes is just stupid.
Camden Williams
I use opengapps pico
Dylan Perez
>I use open source software because it's generally better
lololololol
Colton Stewart
That's still Google Play Services, retard.
Christopher Flores
>Not using the best phone iPhone
Nolan Gutierrez
Because it's a fucking phone Whu would Google care about 1000 sms that are 40% spam and 60% "on my way" type. Even before we had smartphones for illegal o private conversations we meet irl You fags need to go outside more often
Angel Watson
>another g/tard falling for the botnet meme.
Make sure that tinfoil hat isn't too tight, user.
Btw my phone is full of loli porn and I sync everything to Google photos for more than a year. Bite me.
Jaxon Brooks
Because I can't root my phone. (s5 active)
Isaiah Stewart
Notifications from what?
Nicholas Martinez
They can and they do. If a single person using a GAPPs Android is on your network, they've exposed you. Agent spoofing may prevent this, I think.
Jack White
You fag should know Android OS listens.
Evan Lewis
So do you have Play services installed for some reason?
Anthony Martinez
Yes, Google apps use it, including the Play store.
Ryan Miller
>FM Radio How?
Jason Murphy
Not him, but it's probably Cyanogenmod and your phone has to support fm radio
James Young
Checked.
I never really used the FM radio when I had a HTC M7, I was just curious as to how he had it on a stock-looking ROM.
Michael Diaz
Is not stock, is AOSP with all the available Google apps. I disabled the AOSP versions, the radio FM remains, of course.
