Those all sound like reasonable permissions since the gameplay mechanics require all those things to function.

Why are you even worried? You don't go outside.

Privacy lost on 26 October, 2001

People who don't use iOS shit or stock android don't have this problem. :^)

what is pokemon?

This; ffs people are dumb if they don't realize the patriot act was the death of privacy.

new fetish on xvideos

>Those all sound like reasonable permissions since the gameplay mechanics require all those things to function.
This.

If anything, some of Google's "permission" warnings are beginning to remind me of shit like GMO labeling -- it's just over-reporting that does nothing but scare retarded people. Receive data from the internet? Modify, delete, read contents of USB storage? What doesn't fucking do these things?

That's nothing. It also has FULL ACCESS to your gmail account. That means Niantic can

>Read all your email

>Send email as you

>Access all your Google drive documents (including deleting them)

>Look at your search history and your Maps navigation history

>Access any private photos you may store in Google Photos

>Falling for the Botnetémon meme

>You can disable access for these permissions in Settings

So legiiiit, all of these statements are true!

>That's nothing. It also has FULL ACCESS to your gmail account.
No.

Protip:
Press the "decline" button on permissions you don't need/want, and apps cannot use them!

I can confirm this. Niantic accessed my account and subscribe to tranny porn.
I swear it wasn't me.

>Receive data from the internet? Modify, delete, read contents of USB storage? What doesn't fucking do these things?
Those permissions would be out of place on something like a calculator app.
They are definitely useful, those permission warnings.

Windows Mobile users don't have this problem!

Because Windows Mobile hasn't been updated since 2010?

Really? Go to the Google My Account page while logged into the Google Acc you use for PGO, hit "Connected Apps and Sites" and tell us what you see.

The fucc is with this game anyway? Does it detect when two people who are playing the game are next to each other, and force them to battle on the street like real pokemon?

>install app
>asks for shit ton of permissions
>allow them
>use if for months
>it never tries to access any of things it has access to

why?

>falling for the fake PGO app

Nope, this is the legit release

Really makes you think...

It's called "Pokemon Go Release", fake af. Have fun getting your data mined by the chinese government.
The official game isn't even listed there lmao

>You don't go outside.
We do now, beta uprising begins.

Yup, I'm sure that the official Pokemon Go app downloaded from the App Store has been hacked by the chinese and we're all being data mined. Makes perfect sense.

Shitty programmers. It's a clone of one of the developer's other games (Ingress), which may have needed these.

Isn't this the malware apk version? Lmao

>implying pokemon go isn't a highly successful and subversive NSA/CIA/FBI spying tool

Think about it
>agency needs intel on an area
>put a pokecenter there
>suddenly 30 random assholes are there waving their phone cameras looking at everything
>agency receives this data

That means the version I sideloaded atm has all this shit removed? Wow those russian hackers are so nice :)))))))

OP I have bad news

really makes you think

>there's a pokecenter right outside my house
>and another near the biology research complex where I work

Here friend, I'll spoonfeed you:

My Lloyds banking app requires a non-rooted phone.

>or stock android
Stock android has this feature since 6.0 user

You want a good answer?

Email their support team. Some people have already and they actually read the damn emails and complaints. Someone for example on /vp/ lived in butt fucking nowhere and recommended some places; they added it a week later.

Email support. Tweeting them doesn't work because they don't pay that much attention to social media

In my chinkphone i can controll those things in permissions...

>what is rootcloack?

>We've independently verified that the game requests full account access on iOS, but the Android version doesn't appear to have the same problem;
HAHAHAHA THAT'S WHAT YOU GET FOR BEING AN APPLE FAG

Cry harder about other people's device choices, please

Shitty programmers is the reason but that applies to every app not just this one.

Shitty programmers ask for blanket permissions even though they know damn well they only need one of them.

>
no.

TRUMPCOIN

Something I've never heard of before, that sounds rather interesting.

Only if you sign in with your gmail account. I signed in with my Pokemon Trainer Club account.

I avoided PTC because users are still getting fucked by the servers

and how exactly you had privacy of your phone before? most of the basic apps that already comes installed ask for access to all that

The one thing I don't understand is the need for Contacts access.

Finding friends more easily, how fucking dense are you?

>implying they care about your guts thread photos

Do your contacts show up in-game or something? I haven't gotten past the username part since everything short-and-sweet is taken.

Not implemented yet. The entire things feels like some half finished freshman's weekend project. The only gameplay elements are throw a pokeball at a circle, and tap to attack until the pokemon with less HP dies.

Yes, a piece of paper in one country was the death of privacy worldwide.

You can also swipe to dodge, from what I've read.

>not using a throw away google account
top kek

Just checked mine, all I see is Clash of Clans, Boom Beach, and Pocket Mortys. And even they only have very limited access.

Looks like ya dun goofed.

Mass surveillance at it's finest, these ways are alot easier to get data + they are not breaking any laws with these kind of applications

>no battling to catch pokemon
>catching is literally a glorified safari zone
>no pokemon centers
>no pokemon marts
>all items are acquired only from random pokespots
>caught pokemon don't even have levels
>only way to "level up" is catch 500 of the same pokemon and convert them into candy to feed to the strongest one to make it evolve
>this is how you evolve everything including trade only pokemon
>there's no trading period
>there's no direct battling period
>there's no move sets
>battling is limited solely to gyms and ai controlled opponents which are actually pokemon other real people assign to that gym
>battling is just straight up tap to spam tackle until someone faints

What a fucking waste of a license. I've seen flash games from over a decade ago with better gameplay than this shit.

The Jews are really spinning the dreidel with you, eh?

gotta catch em all though

OP OP OP OP

THAT'S THE ROOTKIT VERSION

THAT VERSION HAS A VIRUS IN IT THAT INSTALLS ITSELF ALL OVER THE PLACE AND DOES ALL SORTS OF BAD SHIT.

It does have full google access but only because it's technically a google app because the big G are involved directly.

no it hasn't

What, calculators don't use USB storage or something?

That's literally the fake one...

Not unless you want to write out a "calculator history" or something. Why would a calculator need to write to persistent storage?

Jesus christ this, it doesn't even feel like a game.

save equations?

>believing other countries matter
>implying the US's shit policies didn't spread to everyone as a result of 9/11 and the "war" on terrorism.

Sure.

Just play Pokemon Emerald on a GBA emulator or Platinum on DraStic if you have a good CPU. Don't waste your time on this shit.

Take your paranoid schizophrenia medication.

Does him being a paranoid schizophrenic some how discredit his argument?

Yes because it's delusions and all in his head.

>it never tries to access any of things it has access to

Because certain agencies, who use these backdoors didn't find you interesting.

How can it be delusions if it's clear that it's real.
Look at that list! What could they possibly need with all of that?

How would a GPS based game work without GPS?
How would you save data without storage access?
How would you connect to the internet without network access?
How would you detect walking and movement without activity recognition?
How would you sell microtransactions without Google Play Billing?

You're just reading a large list and getting scared because "Vibrates your phone" is written as "CONTROL VIBRATION WE CONTROL YOU RPHONE"

YOUR COMPUTER IS BROADCASTING YOUR IP ADDRESS. DOWNLOAD THIS SECURITY UPGRADE TO PROTECT YOUR COMPUTER FROM HACKERS.

Have you made any Android Apps?
Do you actually know what you have to add to the android manifest to get those to show up?
Pro tip: It's deeper than it looks.

Only permissions there I don't think are strictly necessary are storage (data could be stored remotely) and contacts (you could be required to type in friends or bump phones or something).

Everything else seems strictly necessary given the game.

Go on, explain for the class, then.

I'm sure you've seen the new pokemon as well but can't show us because it's on your uncle's secret gameboy 3

It doesn't matter what is necessary, the fact of the matter is you're all dumb for playing this game.
>Go on, explain for the class, then.
Explain what?
Here, don't bother me again:
developer.android.com/reference/android/Manifest.permission.html

I'm neither of those guys, but I'd like you to explain why we're dumb and who it's hurting. I'm genuinely curious, because I don't get where you're coming from.

BECAUSE THEY'RE GONNA SELL ALL OUR INFORMATION AND DESTROY OUR PRIVACY and stuff.

I dunno.

infowars.com/pokemon-go-linked-to-cia/

Uh.. iOS had permission settings before 5.0

CIA niggers are at it again. Thanks for the heads up user.

It's much more fun if you think of it as geocaching with pokemon.

If it was a full-fledged pokemon title with all the gameplay mechanics (battling, trading, movesets, etc.) nobody would want to buy a 3DS ever again.
