Would you please tell me if this is a good configuration?

-CPU i5-6400
-MB MSI B150A Gaming Pro
-Kingston DDR3 8Go HyperX Savage CL11 2400MHz (x2) + 2x 2gb DDR3 (1333Mhz)
-Radeon 1gb GDDR5 - 1080p full HD (PCI-e 2.1)

Good for what? Facebook machine? Porn Pioneer? Gaymen rig? Give more details if you want help. Also what GPU is that?

>"Radeon" 1gb GDDR5

it's utter shit.

depends on which pizza box you use to house all that shit

OK but the rest of this configuration?

Coolermaster
But I just want to know if this hardware is high performance for video editing, games etc.

I5 760 vs. i5 6400.
Which is better.

>DDR3 at mixed speeds
>gaming pro
>GPU that's worse than the integrated Intel 530

So the GPU is the weakest element?
Rest is good?

Not really. The RAM is shit, the motherboard is poor and you're probably getting overcharged for that bottom tier i5.

Is this a prebuilt? Sounds like you're getting scammed

Shit is a very specific technical term.

You better buy a pre-build computer.

This. Is. NOT. a review site.

Its mixed.

No its a kit of MB, RAM and cpu.
The GPU is an old one I had.

My asus p7p55d-e restarts every 2 mins for some reason. So I try to replace it. My i5 760 socket 1156 is not compatible with this mb.

It's DDR3 when DDR4 is cheaper and faster, and it's a mismatched set of 2400+1333 so it'll automatically clock down the faster ones to 1333 which is stupid and a waste of money.

>SAVAGE RAM

Yes I see. Thanks user.
Damn I need to find a mb as fast as possible.
Please give me some ideas for a good configuration.

I just hate asus so much now.

>-CPU i5-6400

get an i3-6320 ($20 less) or an i5-6500 ($20 more), i5-6400 is in a shitty spot of being worse than the i3 skylakes on single core performance and not being very good in multi-core benchmarks

>-MB MSI B150A Gaming Pro

get a non-gaming board unless you get an i5-6500k

>-Kingston DDR3 8Go HyperX Savage CL11 2400MHz (x2) + 2x 2gb DDR3 (1333Mhz)

not quad channel so you'll be losing speed with 4 modules, and ram runs at the speed of the slowest module so buying 2400mhz ram and mixing it with 1333mhz ram is silly, never mind that 16gb is absolutely enough and you'll get nothing extra out of 20gb

you'd do better with 3x8gb 2400mhz sticks but you should stick to two modules (2x8gb)

also skylake cpu support of ddr3 is very mobo/implementation dependant(the mobo you picked doesn't support it for instance), get ddr4 or go last gen intel (broadwell or haswell)

>-Radeon 1gb GDDR5 - 1080p full HD (PCI-e 2.1)

nondescript 1gb amd card, awful

>I5 760 vs. i5 6400.

i5-760 is a 5 year old cpu

spoiler: i5-6400 is better by +30% give or take

>Please give me some ideas for a good configuration.

see then go to logicalincrements and pcpartpicker and find something that works in your budget

if you're happy reusing your old amd card () it's fine

Thanks very much based user

>also skylake cpu support of ddr3 is very mobo/implementation dependant

and by this I mean DDR3L only as regular DDR3's default voltage of 1.5-1.65v isn't supported by skylake despite asus/gigabytes claims

Which mb brand should I choose?
Not real gamer just some video editing, little gaming tho.
I'm pretty disappointed by asus.

Your motherboard advice makes no sense. There are Z170 boards and non-Z170 boards. Whether it's a "gaming" mohterboard has no effect whether it can OC. The motherboard in OP's pic can't OC, though is fairly decent for normal usage.

OC is the last thing I need. I don't trust that.

Is this a bait thread?
- 4 sticks of ram with different clocks
- mid range Intel CPU which will be overheaded by some garbage amd gpu you're going to put in there
-2.1 PCI express
- no ssd

0/10 fuck off

>asking about a build
>tech support

fuck off

Go to bed, kid.

Kys

msi gaming series boards are pretty decent. overpriced, but decent.

Take out the entry level card and invest it in a better cpu or an i7. They come with their own entry level graphics.

can DDR3 truly damage skylake processors? haven't seen actual reports about it on the internet.
