Who >old computer here

>Tfw still running an Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700 and an 8800 GTX along with
>8GB of DDR2 ram.

Still don't feel the need to upgrade. Plays the games I like well enough.

Step up nigga

Wew lad

i have a latitude c600.
i think it was from the local courthouse.
new computers so they threw out the old ones? maybe he ganked em and no one cared?

anyway it has 2 card ports so im eventually gonna turn it into a frankenstein desktop. parts should be cheap enough.

If you have a computer with powerful hardware, you need to get the fuck out of Sup Forums

Only people who don't know how to use technology to its fullest fall back on powerful and expensive hardware. Either that or they are gamer faggots. In any case, neither is technology-related

That's why discussion of graphics cards should be banned on this board tbqh. It's pure

2500K and 560 Ti here. Not as old as yours, but a decent 5 years of happy computing.

>tfw core 2 duo and 3 GiBs of RAM
It's pretty comfy, but I wish I had something more powerful.

Core i3 540 + GTX 460 768mb

I'm typing this on a Thinkpad T60p. But I'm never upgrading because no new laptop has a UXGA IPS screen or comes close to the quality. I have no use for a super fast machine, as long as Emacs works I'm happy.

I have a Q9300, HD7770 and only 4GB of 1066mhz ram but I can still be gaymer and play stuff like Overman and Metal Snake 5.

>inb4 Emacs starts using too much memory after a couple of releases
Are you using Emacs in CLI like Stallman does?

>Still don't feel the need to upgrade.

That thing's probably sucking your electricity bill like mad.

Q6600 with 4g ram and gf9400 here

Probably bait, but GPUs aren't just for games. And they are, in fact, technology.

>like Stallman does?

>3930k shows no indication of being almost 5 years old
>probably going to be used for another 10 years

Not sure why I'm even surprised when my t60p works fine for anything I want to do with it, albeit a bit hot.

Just installed Linux Antix on a pentium m laptop with 512mb ram. Works ok.

>32-Bit
>8GB DDR3
>Aero Theme
>Core 2 Dou
>9800GT
Old Tech is great

You should upgrade your GPU.
And get an SSD.
It'll make your computer last another 5 years

>got 3.4GHz Pentium 4 HT w/PAE
>6GB RAM
>3.5 floppy drive
>Creative Sound Blaster XF-i Xtreme Gamer sound card
>stock on-board graphics card

Feels good that it was only $80.Just an old Dell GX620,ex-business.

Seems like anything pre-2010 is under-rated and usually more durable. And cheap, part of under-rated tech.

>[email protected]
>8GB DDR2@1000MHz
>Radeon HD7950 with Alpenföhn Peter + 3x80mm and 2x120mm fans
>60GiB+256GiB a-data ssd
>2TiB WD green

Previous card was 4850, it lived long as hell with a bios mod.

I use it to play FO4 at max with med shadows and shitton of mods. Other than that it has fedora24 for everything else.

Feels great to have old shit that still works.

stupeed freg pester!!!

>people that can afford nice things are retarded
>my 15 years old PC is just as good
>I-I am not poor, I swear!

32 bit, only uses 4gb ram

holy shit how fucking retarded can you be.

>like mad
Like AMD you want to say

Computer so old don't need emulator for ms-dos games.

2600k/960gtx 4gb (gtx480 blew up) and 16gb of ram. Planned upgrade? Never.

i7 920 here, just upgraded my gtx 260 to a 960 to play overwatch

Athlon 64 x2
HD 4650
2 Gb DDR2

Get on my level, plebs

STILL DON'T FEEL THE NEED TO UPGRADE.
PLAYS THE GAMES I LIKE WELL ENOUGH.

>i7-920
Muh nigga. I just overclocked the piss out of mine and got a 970 when my 8800 wasn't doing it anymore.

Don't really play games so haven't had any real reason to buy a new PC.

Q9450
GTX 285
4GB DDR-2

GPU gets 85 degrees at lowest possible clock speeds. kek.

Good thing you're not a mod and can't impose your will of what you think constitutes technology then, huh?

Prove it

Honestly I just don't see any compelling reason to upgrade, it's still such a good processor.

I'm buying a new power supply before anything else, then I might get a good cooler and overclock a bit. How are you cooling your CPU now?

Check how your motherboard handles Xeons. A handful of the X58s take X5650s really well. Add two cores, four threads, overclock just as well, and run cooler. Cost under $100 on eBay.

>How are you cooling your CPU now?
Nothing special. Cooler Master Hyper 212X. 200mhz FSB is the limit of the board so there was no real reason to get anything better.

6 year old laptop, 1st gen i7.

Posted from my HP Elitebook 8540w.

>tfw MacBook air 2010, core 2 duo with 4 GBs of RAM
It's a bit suffering when using a lot of programs at the same time, but overall it just werks. Also I have other big expenses right now and i can't afford a new one, and PC laptops are out of the question unless Microsoft fixes the shitty windows 10.

Know what PAE is? Holy shit you're fucking retarded!

>He thinks PAE is allowed on windows

Windows has PAE dissabled due to licensing issues famer see here

Desktop
>Core 2 Duo E7400

alright i'll bite

Desktop:
Core 2 Quad Q6600 @3.6
4gb ddr2 ram(had 8 but sold because i don't use that pc a lot anymore)
HD4890 1gb

Laptop
Core 2 duo t9300
4gb ddr2 ram
onboard graphics
>Thinkpad T61

I7920 OC'd to 3.6, turbos to 3.8
12 gigs of ram

Shit is just fine.

Want to put a cooler running Xeon x5650 in it though

I'm running a p6x58de.

Asus doesn't say my board supports Xeons, but apparently some people on OC.net are running just fine.

I hope it works, otherwise I'll just upgrade to Zen

Dual p4 xeons here with 4 gigs ddr.

Other is c2d with 4 gigs ddr2.

Both play movies and run the software I need them to (I don't play games)

ayy lmao

I'm on a Dell Optiplex 755 with an old Q8400 and 8GB DDR2. A pretty solid machine, plays most popular games well. I'll choose this 8yr old beast over a console any day. Had a pretty sad story, found it abandoned with an old Celeron in it. Felt sorry for it and took it home.

Core2Quad
6GB of DDR2 RAM
ATI Radeon 5770
2TB of storage
kek help me

Thinkpaf T420 here with an i5 2520m

How did you change the colors of your screenfetch

>2500K and 560 Ti here. Not as old as yours, but a decent 5 years of happy computing.

2nd gen is still amazing. I wish i didn't sell mine and upgd to the 6600.

Core 2 Duo E2500
4GB DDR2 RAM
Ati HD5450
500GB HDD

At least I can code and watch my animays easily enough

>Athlon XP 2500+ (1.833 GHz, 512K cache)
>ATI Radeon 9800 SE
>4GB RAM

I actually built a rig that had a Q8300, 8GB of DDR2 and a 7870. The processor was a bottleneck in Battlefield 4 64P conquest, but otherwise it was perfectly fine for everything. Games that weren't as CPU heavy would do much better on that rig.

I eventually sold it to the guy who bought me the motherboard in 2007 or something. Granted, everything else around it had changed.

ITT: Poorfags thinking they can impress people with their old hardware.

>tfw core2quad QX9770 with 4x2GiB DDR2 and 9800 GTX+

MAXIMUM COMFINESS. I can still play 1080p.

Athlon 64 3400+
HD 4670 (AGP)
2 GB DDR-400

Get on my level

This is the best hardware that can be put on this motherboard. Pic related was taken on my Internet-disabled xp install, I use Lubuntu as my daily driver and it works surprisingly well. Being able to use the GPU for hardware-accelerated video playback and browser rendering is pretty much the only reason it's still usable, though.

You're probably the closest to my setup. Also still on AGP, I presume?

Your motherboard supports 4 GB of RAM?

Totally dude. 550ti, Athlon ii x645 and a generic OEM micro ATX & 8Gigs of memory. Fallout 4 and shadows of mordor are definitely playable.

Cars and guns are technology too.
