>Well, stories don't get much worse than this. A 14-year-old boy in China was killed when his chair exploded, sending chunks of metal into his rectum. The bleeding this caused killed him.

My only advice is to get a big and tall chair(universally comfortable) anything other and you might be disappointed.

You got to Test chairs out yourself. I bought a speedway chair based on it's design and after a month hated the thing.

Idk what chair I have. I bought it at TJ Maxx for pretty cheap. It looks like pic related. I like it fwiw

the only acceptable option

Some cheapo HON chair. I want to get myself a high-end chair since this thing is twelve years old and I get real sore after sitting in it.

That chair is actually good. Saw it for $100 and tested it out. They also have another futon-like chair that would be nice for a desk.

>doesnt have gaming lights
trash

Picking this up tomorrow, what y'all think

Been using one for a couple weeks, the lumbar support feels like it could be a touch higher up.

just fuck my shit up

Got the same chair. Shits comfy

Markus best chair

>no headrest

>ikea

Eliza Tinsley — Liberty

Not sure what name it sells under in the states but this thing is master race.

It doesn't feel very sturdy or like it's made of good materials. The chair I actually want from IKEA isn't sold in this country anymore so I can't be bothered to find the name but it's blue.

A step up from the office depot trash, decent for the money. back support is meh.

I kind of want to get one of these, put some speakers in those holes by the headrest, then blast eurobeat until someone calls the cops.

Best chair with no head rest/support? (don't want to fall asleep in it)

Fabric or mesh preferred, it's too hellish in florida for leather

I have a steelcase leap at my office desk and a steelcase think at home.

I like the think better but both are good.

Thanks. Think I'll pick up a small cushion from there as well to help with back support

My fucking nigga. Herman Miller makes a good chair.

I use a Malkolm because I'm a poorfag. Still, it's one of the few cheap chairs that fits my fat ass without havint to remove the armrests

>using a herman miller chair at home
why dont you autists get off the computer every once in a while

I care about my back sorry

Literally using an office chair I found in an alley, the casters were broke but I bought new ones for 6 dollars, I've had it for 4 years now and it's still great

currently using a Serta Big & Tall it is a bit lackluster in quality but is super comfy because memory foam

I saw this on sale one day for 80$ but they were out of stock. Some person took the last one 5 minutes before I came. I ended up getting this chair for 50$. Still not as good but pretty comfy for the price. I would have preferred a darker color but still a good upgrade compared to my old one.

I really like that one and the Lazy boy's big and tall chair. I went for a racing chair (Speedway from SAMs Club) and it feels like shit. Never again will I get a chair for looks. Shoulda saved up and waited. You have a damn good chair.

>mfw i have this chair because im a fat ass

id give it a 7 out of 10.

holds my fat ass but it isnt the most comfortable chair

Something my dad stole from work in the 80s

Upvoted.

had this or a very similar one, mine peeled like a motherfucker after a year of ownership.

ill be buying this soon.

what you guys think?

>Not getting a steelcase chair

you guys are getting cucked. been in a hermin miller and steelcase and steelcase chairs (the jersey and gesture) blow that hermin milller out the water

i'll never understand why these chairs, or other office chairs, come with headrests like this. who requires whiplash protection or has such a shit neck that they actually require that?

>Expensive as shit ergonomic chair
>Work at a laptop
For what purpose?

Currently using this chair. Doesn't feel as good as it looks(not saying it looks good either).

I rather bought

you spent over 1000$ on a chair. You're the one getting cucked my friend.

You're the one spending over $100k on back surgery.

I live in Canada, and I also sit properly in a modestly priced chair. If you're not grafted to the chair or unable to walk, spending that much money on a chair is absurd. Most of the problems caused from sitting are from not taking breaks and getting up and moving around

>buying a cheap chair
>inevitably setting yourself up for permanent back pain

just as a heads up to you fellas

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Veblen_good

I'm sure you guys also have Macbook pros on your desks too?

Naw nigga if Herman Miller and Steelcase chairs were $100 they'd be flying off the shelves

>People want to spend a lot of money on something they use for a significant portion of their lives
What a ridiculous notion.

>you spent over 1000$ on a chair.
Sure if you're buying it new, it's like $200 used from failed start-ups.

you're the first reasonable voice in the discussion. that's a great idea.

>walk into staples
>start sitting in chairs
>man approaches me and asks me to stop sitting in all of the chairs
>continue to try out chairs while reciting Japanese anime intro songs as thought it were normal speech
>find chair that is comfy
>purchase chair
I don't know what this chair is called, I just know the sound it makes when it leans back.
Makes it sound like I am farting.

So yeah fuck expensive chairs that will definitely work for most everyone, just try cheap ones until you find the one that WERKS for you.

>Put chairs on display

>warns you not to sit in chair

Iron-knee. But probably a bad sign of shitty chairs. I used to test keyboards out at a local music shop(they're all hooked up and on for some reason, but employees don't want us actually testing them out). Doesn't makes sense.

Probably because they sell the products they display. I know at Guitar Center, they didn't really care unless you were trying to break the thing (they let thirteen-year-old me play the Gibsons for fucks sake). But at this local music store, they wouldn't let me touch any guitar, even the cheap ones, because my jeans had rivets.

currently sitting in this chair. I am in this thread to get a new one. It is comfy, but gave me all sorts of back and posture problems. The bump at the edge of the chair knocks something off and it doesn't have locking tilt to correct it.

>>continue to try out chairs while reciting Japanese anime intro songs as thought it were normal speech
D-Does this work?

they cost like $3k in Australia

abandon ship if you're tall.
6'4 here and the "pillow"-bit is placed so fucking awkwardly on the top of my back/shoulders

>2016
>sitting
I bet you think breakfast is the most important meal of the day and dairy milk contributes to bone health

lean back. does the back of the chair swivel independently of the butt? no? then you should throw your chair in the garbage.

i prefer steelcase to herman miller.

tho the eames is my jam.

got pic related, and never looked back, also did countless of tests at random shops, opted out for this one. Nothing came close to it in terms of how fucking comfortable it is. 150 euros.

Pic related, its so big you can cross your legs on it no prob

Is there anything that comes close to the quality of a steelcase chair for under 1000 euro's?

Got pic related for $300.

No more neck pain that I've experienced with my last chair. My back is feeling much better too. So I guess you can say it is worth it.

It's a really comfy chair if the looks don't bother you.

Pic/link related, I see a lot of hate on it after I bought mine (picked it up at office depot), but I love it. I'll use it 8+ hours on some days, never get uncomfortable, love the adjustability.

Don't you feel a bit silly being stationary in a racing chair sometimes? I've been meaning to upgrade my chair game but everything is either hella expensive or F A S T like yours.

Exactly this, had I bough a chair like this I'd be embarassed to invite anyone over.

>What do you use - and is it worth it?
Whatever does not break when you sit.
Mine was like €20 and still functions as intended. I grant you that it may be time to look for a new one but then again consumerism is an addictive disease and you should work hard to counter it.

It also kind of depends on your style I guess. I won't call anyone pleb for not going with the Sup Forums minimalist look and adopting something more akin to a sportsbar look for the computer space. It wouldn't fit in my current environment though.

Maybe business-like, affordable AND durable is too much to ask.

Chronic back pain is worse than consumerism in some aspects

That being said, I also tend to keep my chairs for 4-5 years before replacing them, my current one is almost 6 and is getting replaced in a few weeks

Looks stupid, but comfy as fuck

If you ignore the gaming and racing gimmicks of this chair, it's really comfy. Well worth the price.

Get something like pic related then. They come in a lot of colors, you know. Or do you just hate the general shape of it?

...

This I actually don't mind AS much. I'll look into this one.

>not getting on off Craigslist from liquidators

I am using my couch and my spine is completely fucked.

Battlestation pic?

Pic related, my actual chair

>tfw phone takes 7MB pictures so can't post directly to 4chin

Just laptop on the armrest. The problem is there is not way to sit straight and comfortably at the same time.

These things would work pretty well, but i have yet to find one that isn't engineered for woman and manlets.

Does it look to faggy to make actual big ones?

Is it confy to fap in it while watching trap porn?

after 2.5 years my dxracer is falling apart, the "leather" is getting bald spots everywhere, the chassis is breaking, i suspect shitty welds and way too small welds too. i give it another month before the seat falls of the leg. after about a year-year and a half the squeeking started too. cannot recommend

I understand my dude.

it's crooked as fuck now too

Busting your knees to save your back.
We all will get older and have back problem but at least we will be able to walk. Do not get those unless you want to live in a wheelchair on your old age.

how long have you had it? i give it about a year before you are literally sitting on a plank of wood with some fake leather on top. been there, done that.

You can buy steelcase / herman miller / whatever used or refurbished for less than half of retail.

If you sit at your desk more than 6 hours a day it's so worth it for this reason

...

Thinking of getting this,
microcenter.com/product/427869/Racer_Gaming_Chair

kinda worried that the DX racer might not be as comfy for a tall guy like me.

How tall are you?

6ft,4"

my work just got a bunch of haworth lively chairs and theyre really awesome. been thinking of getting one for myself.

it's been almost a year and it's fine. still have warranty, if anything happens.
