Nearly all major public trackers now officially comply with DMCA takedown notices

How does it feel to know that public torrents are on the verge of dying?

When TPB finally accepts DMCA rules in order to stop getting taken down, it's over.

How does this make you feel? Why aren't you taking the proper measures to avoid being left in the dust when public torrents finally become a thing of the past?

>tfw you're already invested in private trackers
guess i got in at the right time

This. I am so glad I did this.

Public torrents have been a cancerous wreck for well over a decade.

I joined private trackers last year and I can't believe I didn't do it sooner.

>private trackers track literally everything you do, and do so across IPs due to sessions
There's nowhere to hide.

How am I going to into private trackers if I don’t download shit every week?

>How does it feel to know that public torrents are on the verge of dying?
It feels slightly less convenient than before.
>When TPB finally accepts DMCA rules in order to stop getting taken down, it's over.
That's a little over-the-top.
>How does this make you feel?
Inconvenienced, at most.
>Why aren't you taking the proper measures to avoid being left in the dust when public torrents finally become a thing of the past?
Because I just use torrents to conveniently get media and software for free. Spending money isn't a HUGE deal, and it's actually the right thing to do. Also because there will always be some method of piracy out there.

Also, the OP is obviously referring to PIRATED CONTENT, which is obviously ILLEGAL. I don't want to be a piracy-activist whose goal is more-or-less "stealing shit from people, because I'm entitled and I want it"

You don't need to.
In the case of WCD, just wait for freeleeches.

Are joining private trackers any difficult?

>paying to pirate
Dumbest thing I EVER heard of.

WCD requires you to take an interview that tests if you know anything about encoding/audio shit.

You can forget joining trackers with BTN and PTP, they're closed/incredibly hard to get into.

>websites have to obey they law
who'da thunk it

It's not law though.

Not everyone does this.
Not really. WCD has an interview system, and it's currently the easiest way to get in (speaking from personal experience). Unless you're some kind of retard, then it's difficult.
That's why you should hit the books if you're going to join a private tracker.
whatinterviewprep.com
Read up.

i haven't used a public tracker since like 2009.

i'm not a fucking retarded pleb.

this is Sup Forums.
who seriously isn't in a private tracker by now?

how do I into private trackers?

Read this first:
whatinterviewprep.com
As I said before,
>WCD has an interview system, and it's currently the easiest way to get in (speaking from personal experience). Unless you're some kind of retard, then it's difficult.

>tfw got an iptorrent account last week

What are all the recommended private trackers for anime, western animation, movies, television, comics, vidya, etc?

welcome to the shittiest tracker
also, let me teach you trick: you don't need to seed shit, atleast I have never been banned for not seeding. if you are in risk of being banned, just use the good boy points that you get for seeding freeleech to throw the torrents off

I'm kind of mad that Sup Forums fags keep ruining everything. First file lockers, now torrents.

>anime
Animebytes.
>western animation
Broadcast The Net.
>movies
Pass The Popcorn.
>Television
Broadcast The Net.
>comics
32pages or What.CD.
>vidya
Either Gazelle Games or Blackcats-Games, I'm not sure.

>anime
animebytes.tv

>western animation
There used to be a specific tracker for western stuff, but it's gone now. So you'll have to use Broadcastthenet or PassthePopcorn, or go for a general one like IPTorrents.

>movies
PassthePopcorn or IPT.

>tv
BroadcastTheNet or IPT

>comics
No clue, never searched

>vidya
blackcats-games.net

>shittiest tracker
why is that, content wise it seems good

you literally just register on a tracker with open registration

People say it's shitty because it's a general tracker. That's basically it.

They were also involved in some stupid private tracker drama that you don't need to worry about.

I've been using IPT for like 5 years.
It's fine.

I thought broadcast the net was very difficult to join.

/r/trackers is good as a resource and /ptg/ for circlejerk and info that is not public.

Currently you should try into GGn (a game tracker) since they have open apps @ gazellegames.net/ and do the what interview (more info in the /ptg/ sticky)

>tfw using usenet
feelsgoodman

IPT would be for you, then.
Ask around /ptg/, maybe an user will give you an invite.

It is.

The only way to get in is to rank up on WCD, and the only fast way to rank up in WCD is to upload transcodes of albums or actually buy new music and then upload it.

It's literally impossible to get in BTN now though because it's closed.

well, why wouldn't you recommend the best?

But yes, atm you should persue other trackers.

>every website has to obey DMCA
>every infringing file gets taken down as soon as its uploaded

>who seriously isn't in a private tracker by now?

Normies and retards.

I payed $10 to get access to tehparadox.com in 2008. Been downloading everything I want whenever I want with no worries ever since. Also lots of things on there you can't find on public trackers.

>mfw the first tracker related thread in a while that isn't in full denial that private trackers are supperior in every way

what a time to be alive

I don't have internet suitable for huge amounts of torrenting.

>who seriously isn't in a private tracker by now?
Anyone who's not retarded enough to fall for the biggest, most obvious honeypot ever made.

>mfw there are people itt who pay in order to get in a secret gay club to pirate media

Proof?

>I thought broadcast the net was very difficult to join.

Did you think being the best meant it was easy to join, dumbfuck?

>current year
>complying with DMCA takedown requests
cuck

DAMAGE CONTROL

>It's literally impossible to get in BTN now

Recruitment started at PTP weeks ago.

Is there any truth to their statements?

Why are people this stupid?
Please show me where money needs to be paid.

There's probably 1 out of 1,000,000 people getting caught on private trackers, compared to the 100k out of 1mil getting caught on public trackers.

>tfw had a hipster fag friend in college in 2008
>tfw he gave you an invite to waffles.fm
>tfw becoming a power user on college internet was easy
>tfw power user got me into all the high profile torrent sites, broadcast, sceneaccess, what.cd, animebytes, bibliotiq

No. Seedboxes/VPS are a nice way to gain easier buffer, but aren't essential for private trackers.

The second one is just a shitty conspiracy without any proof. In fact, you are far more vulnurable to DCMA letters by torrenting on public trackers because copyright trolls have access to them.

I'd rather pay to pirate than buy anything with DRM.

Also private trackers have more interesting content than Spotify or iTunes, Netflix and other shit will ever have.

whats a good tracker for video tutorials? im in MAM but they only have a few

god thats creepy

d2.vu and ttn for example.
The fact is, with a private tracker, you need to have an account, and accounts are strictly monitored, so that the only real way to not be NSA'd when using them is to use a dedicated VPN whenever dealing with them.

went Elite with a standard DSL connection on what.cd
am now Power TM on fiber

Why would you use public torrents other than TPB, though?

I understand that private trackers have better seeded torrents and wider variety. However it does not seem to be worth it due to having to do a secret club initiation which isn't too bad, but then you have to ratiocuck constantly or pay for seedbox. And for what? Weebshit I can get off nyaa.se , general use kat/tpb, skidrow/reloaded for games. I've been part of private trackers and all they are worth is showing how inner circle you are. The only fucking case where it's justified is when you are a very heavy user.

where do i get TPB offline version?

>TPB accepts DMCA
lol

Like what? New textbooks?

>secret club initiation
this barely exists anywhere, you either get in when registration is open or someone invites you
>but then you have to ratiocuck
just look for a tracker with a bonus system and youre fine
>pay for seedbox
as above, for trackers with bonus systems you dont need a seedbox
>general use kat/tpb, skidrow/reloaded for games
youd be better of using IRC to get those things

>tfw the opentrackers are actually ip-echelon-owned honeypots

what is this lilpay shit on kat asking for my cc to download

that's you being a retard and not having a decent adblocker

>private tracker
more trouble than its worth, I found that I was using open trackers/ streaming websites more than I was using a private tracker since "muh ratio"

you just need to find a specific forum to get what you need really, no need for private trackers

About damn time
freetards only want shit for free without paying
you should go to Russia, not live in America, home of innovation and prosperity

>caring about 'murrifat media

Glorious 2D master race doesn't have this problem.

>Implying private trackers are only used for whatever meme show Sup Forums likes
Anime has multiple big private trackers, it's one of the biggest reasons to get a private tracker in the first place.

I managed to get lucky enough to get into iPT and WCD by blowing my friend.
With these two trackers I sort of get everything I want so I don't think I need to be bothered with trying to get into more trackers. Seems like a hassle.

I don't give a flying fuck because I don't live in a police state and I have country-specific trackers that are never going down

I'll be fucked before I get on my knees and blow some internet nobody for a shitty private tracker account that I have to maintain like it's a fucking job

as i thought its not the real kat
was some knockoff trying to get my cc

rearrange and change few letters, now public tracker spells
>pleb tracker

>TPB finally accepts DMCA rules
will never happen

Remind me again why we need public trackers at all? I thought torrents could work without them?

rearrange and change few letters, now private tracker spells
>private honeypot

You won't find any peers without a tracker unless the torrent was just released an hour ago.

But what if you seed the tracker 24/7 and enable DHT? Is that really not enough for someone to download the torrent?

>interview to join a torrent website

lmfao
What the fuck is your problem

>he has an account on a private tracker website
>he got on his knees and opened his mouth whenever he saw the recruiter pop up
>he took an """interview"""" before his """boss""" allowed him in
>he waited patiently for senpai to notice his Whatcd account
>now that he finally sucked enough dick he has an account for his favorite tracker
>he must always remember to follow the strict rules and maintain his ratio
>he knows it's basically a job that he does >for free
>he's very proud of his job and takes it very seriously
>sometimes out of desperation he pays for the membership
>he actually pays people to work for their site
>he knows to silently bend over and drop his pants whenever the moderators want him to
>the only thing he gets out of it is 20% higher quality torrents and getting to act smug on anonymous Australian dragon dildo aficionado forums

If you try to download a torrent trackerless, the probability that you encounter a peer, even with DHT, is proportional to the size of the swarm. With a swarm size in the single digits, that's 0. Nevermind the fact that there are many torrents with effectively the same content at effectively the same quality level which further splits the potential swarm.

Someones butthurt they can't get into private trackers for whatever reason.

Well fuck
Sorry for being pleb but now I'm interested on spending time to get in on ptg

>IPTorrents
Anyone using this should be fucking gassed.

Off and on BTN recruits on PTP. It's not always up. At least on power user, I don't know if the higher ranks always have a thread.

read the pt general, then give up because it's literally more worthwhile to just get a real job that you'll actually get paid for and buy the media you want

does anybody know what this unhandled exception error is all about? I keep getting it on gazelle and i would rather not have to talk to them directly because i don't want to deal with private tracker mods. at any time. wcd was bad enough.

is TSH ok?

never did any interview
i don't shut down my computer, so just having a torrent client 24/7 and enough storage means no worries
i know there are people banned from trackers because they can't even do that, they must be complete retards

Makes me feel indifferent. I'm not poor and want to support people who create content that I enjoy.

>more worthwhile to just get a real job that you'll actually get paid for and buy the media you want
Oh rly
Then find me a place to buy >muh chinese cartoons called "Huyao Xiao Hongniang"
>protip: you can't

Because it's the Wal-Mart of trackers people cry

It's a good thing.

Piracy has grown totally out of hand.
Normies should not be pirating, it should be reserved for the top 3% tech savvy people that nobody cares about.

Personally, I will always find other ways.

They never DMCA my moving chinese drawings so I'm ok.

And if they go for it, then there's xdcc.

I do wonder if it would be a good idea to make a torrents website using IPFS or some other decentralized network. Tor is also in a shady status right now so I'd rather not use it.

I use private trackers for music, public streaming platforms for porn, get my anime from fansub groups, TV shows from youtube, don't watch hollywood movies at all and buy games.

How fucked am I?

This is what ptg fags don't want to realize.
The shit the teams do in the background would freak most people out

tor should get its shit together and let us torrent over it so we don't have these bullshit problems.

Only people with shit internet need better seeding.

>lots of things on there you can't find on public trackers
name one

Tor wasn't made for torrenting. Never was and never will be. You're slowing not only the tor network down, but the P2P network you're connected to.

Torrent over i2p or another network actually designed for torrenting

this...

I have been downloading everything I want whenever I want with no worries for free on public trackers. I dont remember a single time when I couldnt find what I wanted easily.
