Just switch to Linux already
BSD is a deeper level of satori
Can *BSD be made as minimalist as LFS can be?
that's a strange question, minimalist how?
i guess you can install openbsd without X or even the man pages
It's done for you. You get a terminal calculator and a clock, and that's about it. Literally, there's no software beyond what they stole from Linux.
>there's no software beyond what they stole from Linux.
nice meme
Opinions on PCBSD?
clunky when i last used it, maybe it got better
But I already switched from Linux.
>Literally, there's no software beyond what they stole from Linux.
That's a lie, there is quite a bit of native software for *BSD.
>responding to the nothing works retard seriously
What should I use to lock my laptop screen in OpenBSD? I found slim for a display manager but it looks like slimlock relies on PAM
Perhaps you could look into slock from suckless.org
Their programs tend to be designed for portability.
Doesn't xscreensaver also include this functionality?
#rektandburried
stop replying to yourself
>butthurt cannot see IP count
I'm looking for a graphical one so it looks like slock's a no but I'll look into xscreensaver, thanks
more like
>i got banned and i dodge bans because im a little bitch
Linux is for SJW retards. Fuck Linux, Linux politics, Linux and related developers, and Linux SJW feefee commanders.
>Banned
Where do you see I a ever banned?
what the fuck is this post
also are you new? you do know that all bans are not public, right
Does that prove I was banned?
everyone knows you've been banned several times
>He doesn't know mods occasionally make a ban public
Lurk moar newfag
that's exactly what i said though, you fucking retard
BSD is for vegan contrarians. Fuck BSD, *BSD politics, BSD (again, since you're so buttravaged) and related developers and BSD contrarian NEET commanders
You seem to think you are in reddit.
haha you're doing this again
what's next, hipster, macfag, hippie?
i can make a bingo card out of your posts
Do you suffer from post traumatic stress disroder?
oh yeah, that too
thanks, forgot about that
>hipster, macfag, hippie
Seems legit but for the macfag part though
i really miss angela desu
she was a better shitposter
Man I forgot about her
She's from Sup Forums and /r9k/
I like when BSD threads gets derailed like this kek
ENJOY YOUR BROWSER OS SENPAI
how does that picture relate
you do know they threatened to sue her if she used the freebsd name, right?
My sides
Also, nice supportive community you got there
who would've thought that a company doesn't like it when some insane crackhead uses their name
Wasn't she a BSD dev?
I miss the FreeBSD autist who's only argument against OpenBSD was that backdoor accusation and muh jails.
"dev" is arguable
seems like she only did like single line fixes and some documentation fixes, she was practically useless and i wonder how she got commit rights at all
>she
im pretty sure it's the same guy, he just heeded our advice and changed it up
Is getting commit rights that easy?
This new shitposter hates *BSD in general. The FreeBSD autist loved FreeBSD and really hated OpenBSD. I'm sure they're two different autists.
you have to realize that she's a woman first in a mostly nerd dominated environment
so yes it was easy for her
some other dev was really defending her by saying she apparently submitted a lot of diffs at some point, of course he was the committer so he's biased as fuck, so who knows if he was lying
it's not like we can take his word for it, he is a shitposter after all
i find it funny that he stopped replying after i posted that archive link that proves that yes, he really does this every day
How big would a bare minimal install of OpenBSD be? Just the essentials and only the essentials like how you can get a tiny 10 MB install of GNU/Linux with just the essentials.
hm, never actually tried it, but according to the FAQ it's this:
>OpenBSD can be installed in as little as 512MB, but using a device that small is something for advanced users. Until you have some experience, 8GB or more disk space is recommended.
i doubt a full install actually takes 8GB, it's probably more of a safe recommendation, but 512MB makes sense considering its usage in routers.
you have to keep in mind that a lot of the openbsd packages are compiled with X in mind (unless its really obviously something that will never require X in a million years), so you're on your own if you don't install Xorg
