Why haven't you downloaded Windows 10 yet?

Why haven't you downloaded Windows 10 yet?

Because I do not want to.

It's not an upgrade from Linux

because gnu/linux

>have windows 7 home premium
>have to upgrade because of 16GB RAM limit
>see I can get windows 10
>thinking of all the problems that'll happen with software compatibility
>decide instead to initiate windows 7 pro upgrade and use a keygen

I'm waiting for it to cost something so I can support this clearly superior platform with my money

I already did

I'm going to buy it. My current copy of W7 is OEM locked to my 6 year old severely outdated pre-built PC. It'll cost me 120 euros but at least it's an investment.

I just installed Fedora. It sure is fun having to install things like audio codecs so I can even listen to music.
Then again, I remember when I first got Windows 7, it didn't support all codecs either. My girlfriend who uses windows 10 said W10 didn't even have a PDF reader installed, wtf? So she downloaded some bloated crappy one from their app store thing and it takes 20 seconds to load

Windows 10 is okay. Just okay. I'd run linux or buy a mac but
>muh gaymans
I use mac at work and like it for development

Why should I? I enjoy tty1-6.

Worse than 8.1.
>100% disk usage all the time
No thanks.

roflmao my ass off
fix your gay machine you miserable fuck

HDD is not a defect.

fix your HDD

Anyone noticed a that weird feature?
I guess it's from Windows 10
When I start a video in firefox that has sound, videos in WMP pause
and when I am listening to music with a player (spotify and foobar here) and I start a video in firefox the sound from the player gets reduced by a lot so I can watch the video better, as soon as the video stops or I close the tab the music from the player gets turned up again
I think that's really cool but where is that coming from?

I have a new SSD, a 4yo 5200rpm laptop HDD and a 5yo 7200rpm HDD in my tower and I never saw 100% disk usage
maybe take a look at your miserable machine before you claim it's Windows' fault you shit

Poo in the loo parjeet

I have, since day 1.
I see no problem with it.
Just a lot of FUD.

It do not support my c2d t5550

i have. and i have a iso on a....
>dvd

Because I run the enterprise version, which doesn't qualify for the free upgrade.

New laptop came with 10. It's not that great, OP. I want 7 back or change to some distro-4-dummies.

what dont you like about it ?

>windows
>2016
Nice try, Microsoft.

This is autistic. I've had 10 since it came out and haven't had any compatibility issues.

The tiles are often unresponsive. It seems like every damn browser is completely shit-slow. I don't like the interface. It looks like xbox haphazardly stitched with Win 7.

The Windows 10 settings menues are a fucking joke. Groove music/video player is disgusting. I got shitware like candy crush pre-installed. Fucking Lenovo has "utilities" and "settings" that basically make everything seem redundant.

Really, Win 7 is already established with software and basic functionality. I don't remember having to wait 20-30 seconds when I load disks to do anything on 7.

I have reset this laptop fucking 2-3 times since I got it in June.

Sadly already upgraded for dx12. Now I get almost double the performance in Dolphin, so I guess it was worth
I'm dual booting with ubuntu as well

>home premium
>not ultimate
lmao

I like to torrent movies since i have no friends to go to the movies with

I got FTW10 the other day, I like how it looks but I only "upgraded" for that sweet, eternal digital entitlement so when I'm forced to switch over I'll be able to do it for free.

Pros: I was able to set up and partition a 1TB that my bios could see, but w7 was unable to.

Cons: Literal fucking AIDS, they made it just about impossible to go back to w7. I had to format my ssd because I kept getting some bullshit about not being able to continue installation of w7 due to some certificate signature bullshit.

Not to mention, trying to do it via getw10 or whatever kikery they are using took so fucking long I couldn't even. Eventually just used an iso from microsoft to install it. wew

I actually just finished building a pc and i installed w10. I've seen all the shitposting about telemetry and shit you should turn off, can someone direct me to something that tells me what i need to turn off?

install gentoo

check em

Because it sucks.

You need to turn off windows. There is no middle ground.

Two out of my three devices have already automatically upgraded to it. The Yoga did it while I was in the middle of giving a quarterly report.

That being said, I am on the fence about attempting this on my gaymen computer. I will likely have to upgrade all of the hardware in a year, so I don't see the point.

One thing I do have to appreciate about 10 (use it at work now) is having the taskbar on multiple displays. Though I do recall some faggot Microsoft dev claiming "It will confuse the users" when asked about this not being a feature back during the 7 launch but now he is probably eating ass in some back alley somewhere.

Right now. My brother gave me a laptop he hadn't used in a year. Cleaned out all the crap viruses and adware. But for some reason I can't get the machine to see updates through windows update. It just keeps on searching. So I'm upgrading to 10 to get the free 10 key and then downgrading back to 7 to see if it gets fixed.

Or I'll just install ltsb n I found online from an iso that has the same sha1 on microsoft's enterprise site

Sad! Like I said, I just installed from the USB because the utility they use takes for fucking ever. Wish I could just download them from the website itself and be done with it. Leave it to microsoft. Xbone would be dead in the water if users had to deal with this level of shit!

If you have some time to waste you can actually narrow down the root cause by using the Windows system update readiness tool (checkSUR). Just note that you will need to make the packages directory and rename the offending windows update msu you copy into it to it's base KBxxxxx.msu name.

Would like to know this to. How do we go about making Win10 less backdoor-y?

>539 mb
Alright I already made new versions of softwaredistribution and catroot2, as an aggressive option. All it did was wipe my update history. Downloading now, hopefully it finishes before Windows 10 muscles it's way to fully install. Still gonna upgrade just to take advantage of the free OS for later on.

You pay Microsoft money to get debloated and featureless version (ltsb n) or be part of the DoD and get a version with viewable source code.

I fix comps for a living and any laptop 3+ years old will have a compatibility problem. Mic, touchpad, webcam, touch screen, one of those fucking drivers will break and youll have to spend an hour finding just the right chipset bullshit to fix it

If you send them cash (and a thank you note explaining that it's for Windows 10) in the mail, but include no return address, they'll have no choice but to take your money. This is what me, and all my friends did.

"If it ain't broken, don't fix it"

What I'm using works 100% as I want it to, there is no reason to go through the hassle of a new OS for minimal benefit.

You can if the client is not windows.
