I miss ATi too. Is there any way to see the ATi icon in the system tray with newer graphics cards such as the RX480?

Do you miss AMD, because they are one in the same.

No, ATi was different. ATi just felt special.
ATi RAGE, ATi Mach, ATi All in Wonder.

ATi was just special man. I think you have to be a late 80's early 90s PC builder to understand why ATi was just...special.

AMD ruined ati.

I always had All in Wonder cards. Felt amazing having a "DVR" like a decade before they were even a thing.

Ati x600 was my first graphics card. I still have it.

ATI was the card you pulled from your store bought PC and replaced with 3dfx or Nvidia. They were mediocre in the 80's and 90's, but dirt cheap which is why PC vendors loved them. Even Matrox was better at 2d.

DELET DIS REEEEEEEE

In the early to mid 90s the ATi Rage was an excellent upgrade.

3dfx came later on in the 90s.

Nvidia was unheard of until 2000-ish.

Underaged fag detected. Nvidia cards only became popular post 2000.

3dfx still required a 2d card and really only became decent in 1997/8

Matrox was never relevant, like PowerVR.

Again, either you're underaged or wasn't a Sup Forumsent in the 90's

Come to think of it, ATI didn't even become good until they bought Art X which worked with Nintendo on their GPUs.

No, system builders used SiS, Oak Technologics and Trident GPUS.

DO YOU REMEMBER TRIDENT?
They were the prebuilt choice.

You have no idea what you're talking about.

ATi was one of the first to hit the 3D scene. You've got no idea mate!

You should fact check before you call other people children in effect outing yourself as a child.

Not the user you're replying to but what did he say that was wrong?

>ATi was one of the first to hit the 3D scene
Is this a joke?

He's right though, the 1995 ATi Rage was actually a somewhat capable 3D accelerator. It was only until the 3dfx Voodoo in 1996 that 3D really took off.

Riva came out in the 90's. Matrox was most definitely relevant.
Yes. I had a cheap shit 2d Trident card to go with my Voodoo 1.

ITT: underagefags getting BTFO

>ATi Rage was actually a somewhat capable 3D accelerator
Using what API?

>What is Riva TNT
>Ignoring the TNT2 stomped over the Voodoo 3 if you had a decent CPU, in both speed and features

It didn't even take the Geforce for 3dfx to start declining, the GF2 GTS was the final nail though.
