Cool as shit

Also move to the Pacific Northwest.

air conditioner

I paid for an Air Conditioner about 18 months ago. That's how I deal with it.

I don't have a working AC unit, so I do the classic way that's been used for decades: filtered ice water.

My current plan is to stay in the southern hemisphere.

Bought an LG air conditioner for $200 3 weeks ago. Keeps my room at a nice frigid 70 degrees. Even came with a remote so I can avoid getting up and maximize my shitposting time.

Tfw your 2 year old AC doesn't make your room as cold anymore

I feel you bro. 8:00 at night and the heat index is still over 100.

Btw I have central air, but my battle station is on the second floor so it's 1000 degrees upstairs and -15 degrees downstairs

My shitty apartment only has a window unit. It vibrates weirdly and leaks water inside my apartment sometimes, so I tilted it backward so that the water all drains outside. We'll make it, lads.

... R-right?

;_;

nigga my ac is more than a decade old and is str8 frosty

put some chicken breasts in my car for free sous vide

Lol free food poisoning

living in a basement

I'm actually cold

Put on the AC and make sure the doors remain closed

Central AC. Nice and comfy 68F.

No, quiet you fool, we don't want any more imports. We have quite enough stupid already.

You have Bernie-voting leftist hipsters.

Gets hot in Miami :/

>Using an 8350 for my house fire :^)

Some, in Seattle, sure. And the rest of the state has spoon fed Trumpsters and Clinton supports as well. Your point?

>AC
>no air in
Enjoy your CO2 buildup and general indoor air pollution.

>Pacific NW
>90f right now
Please stop your propaganda.

>measuring temperature in F
don't tell me you also use inches instead of cms?

Oregon need not apply.

REEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Don't blame me, blame the establishment keeping Metric down in America.

just turn on the ac?

I use centigrade, but measure in inches. In fact, even where metric is used, imperial is still used, like in carpentry.

don't wear a shirt mayne.

How do you get fresh air and oxygen into your home without it costing $$?

Open a window.

Fans and long T shirts for more airflow.

Fans only make it hotter.

In a vacuum, maybe

But for an apartment/room, it makes it cool.

The comforting and cool breeze of an evening thunderstorm.

12:00 at night and it's 81 degrees in my bedroom. Humidity is 45%.

35C is hot for you guys?

By not living so far south.

dealing with dry heat and thinking its anything comparable to heat with any humidity what so ever

>Not having a slight tropical storm to cool down your summer
lol pleb

>dat humidity

Also: Aluminium.

central CA coast master race

>It's a dry heat meme

Yeah, and yours is a wet heat, huh? Faggots. Both suck dick, winter master race.

MOTHERFUCKER

My laptop gets pretty hot when I play vidya on it
Is putting an Icepack under it a viable option to cool it down

My upstairs neighbour has an air conditioning unit, so I put an intake fan in my vent and it steals their cold air.

I'm using a state-of-the-art new piece of tech that came out Last Thursday.
It's called an "Air conditioner"
It's fucking amazing; just magically cools the air. Like fuck, I can't even imagine how it works; bitch who invented it be damn smart, nigga

pls mom

fuck you and you're gay shit!

Air Conditioner.
It's cheap, effective, power efficient.
Cools the air, cleans the air, lowers humidity.
Can be weekly programmed, got wifi controls.

And it's piss cheap.

Anyone not using an AC already is just plain retarded. It's so fucking cheap, it's crazy.
(A Chinese Gree, or Midea unit is cheaper than a ghetto PC build.)

>Like fuck, I can't even imagine how it works
Physics?
There is a load of refrigerant that transfers the heat, usually it's R-410A. The heat is transferred between the inside and outside unit using the copper pipe and said refrigerant.
The two tubes that you have to run between the inside and outside unit is the said refrigerant one, and the water drainage. ***

It's not really magic and it's not complicated either.

There are only two golden rules:
Always make sure the water drain pipe is tilted by a few degrees, to make sure the water does not stay in the pipe. ***

Always clean the AC before you use it each season. An AC cleaner is piss cheap, and you just take off the front of the inside units and spray that shit inside.

Btw I'm this guy:
I design, deliver, service HVAC systems ranging from home to big systems. AMA.

>95
You don't know the meaning of heatwave

It's cheaper and easier to make dry air more humid, instead of removing humidity. It costs what... 10$ to get those things that just make water vapor?

Not being a pussy, ever tried it?

>tfw August only gets worse...

my condolences

tired of this fucking northern hemisphere propaganda, it's winter and I have the heating on you idiot.

You heard of this new tech?
It's called British weather.

AC unit.
Is this a trick question?

First time i ever used my air conditioners delay feature. Got that bitch set to turn on an hour before i get home.

Ctrl+F ice condoms...

Jesus, guys. You are stupid. For those who aren't endowed with AC's, ice condoms are the nr. 1 alternative. Fucking educate yourself!

Is AC=muh ozone/global warming still a thing?

...

god damn, dude...
I actually have a moderate understanding of refrigerating systems. Not down to a T, like I couldn't explain in detail, but that post was OBVIOUS satire about how stupid OP's question was.

>British weather
Have you ever actually SEEN the Sun? like IRL?

Refrigeration really is some freaky science wizbiz bullshit though.

I understand it pretty well btw.

I saw it like 3 days ago, most people I know are still suffering sunburn from it.

I'm not joking.

No.

The only ozone harming is when they release the refrigerant. But no one does that anymore.

1) The new refrigerants are faaaar less harmful to the ozone layer.

2) You get fined to hell if you release it. In Europe you must track all your purchase/usage as a company and/or technician.

tl;dr: Nope.

And I had a few hours of sleep. I am sorry.

I turn on the air conditioner for 5-10 minutes every hour or so. My room gets hot so quickly.

Why would you do that?
If you have an AC that is not a decade old, it will just turn off the compressor and let the fan run only, resulting in almost no power consumption.

Still would get hot in OR. When I lived in a place that had no AC (this is also a somewhat common thing in PacNW), I tried this:

I... think it was effective?I dunno. I was desperate and maybe it slightly helped with my ass sweat factor

> Not picking up a set of these bad boys during Prime day

lol

alright, makes sense then.
I was only annoyed because it ruined the joke

>95.7 F
>on a heatwave

do you live in northern Russia or some shit?

>What technology are you using to beat the heatwave?
Windows. I open them up. Amazing, I know. Of course, with the summer blasting outside at full tilt and temps going over 20C, it's not exactly the greatest solution, but fuck it, it works.

>Bought AC after last year heat wawe.
>Can not turn it on, because this summer is relatively cold, and temperature in my room is 22 celsius even with 8350 on.
What the fuck nature.
Sucks to be europoor.

> Europe
It's been 34-42C constantly for long weeks now famalam, where do you live? Norway?
