Ayy I love my x220. But a SSD is essential. A 120 is cheap enough, and big enough for say xubuntu. Just don't put any obnoxious stickers on it.

As someone who runs FreeBSD on an X220 can confirm this is not true.

I'm glad to see we've got another another Linux user who started in the past year or two.

Recently there was a thread asking for age/distro and everyone over about 23 used Debian or something similar. Gentoo, Arch, and other hobby distros are only appealing if you want to spend all your time tinkering.
