He's not using Crunchbang++

>He's not using Crunchbang++

It's basically a lightweight minimal version of Debian already setup for you.

anime pls go

It's basically the walking dead, not a reviver.

But I'd rather ue 2bwm if I wanted stacking.

anime website

Reddit please go

Requesting that picture of Chad with the backwards hat listing off websites and saying he hates anime and man children, etc etc

...

Yes this, but you know, the other one. I've been looking for it quite some time.

I wish Antergos didn't have an ugly name and logo otherwise I'd use it

Just use Xubuntu like any other fuckin adult.

BunsenLabs is better because it's more actively developed.

It seems the #!++ dev is busy and doesn't have the time to properly root out all bugs and put out improved releases in a reasonable timeframe. He recently posted a link to a beta release with some bug fixes so there might be a new official release in the next few months.

>using a hobby distro

Lubuntu is lighter than Xubuntu and #! lighter than Lubuntu.

The lightweight minimal version of Debian is Debian.
You just do a minimal install.

This. BunsenLabs put out a new .iso I think on the 10th, because they put new repository signing keys in.

...

Yeah, but conky and everything is already set up for you.

>CrunchBang++ is an open source and completely free [of cost (#!++ does include several of Debian’s non-free packages as well as the non-free repository)]
dropped

>Crunchbang
>not Archbang

Isn't that a dead distro?

Anyway I set up openbox today and it didn't take very long.

Some people don't use conky or the WM that crunchbang provides. If you want a truly minimal experience configured to your needs you'd go with Debian minimal.

There is no reason for crunchbang++ to be a separate distro. Why don't they create a metapackage that contains all the default crunchbang++ packages and host a debian repo? Or push it to be an official Debian package?

Bunsenlabs has their own repository, and it is a community driven continuation of the original #!.
And if people don't want a preconfigured lightweight environment, then they can just install the repository on top of an already existing Debian install.

>community driven
Into the trash.

Most of linux is community driven. Especially all of the GNU shit.

>your post
>into the trash

I love those colours! Any way I could see your dotconfigs?

that wallpaper is fcking cancer

What WM is that? or is that just crunchbang?

>not using exherbo

It's basically a more elitist version of Gentoo which you won't be able to install.

That's openbox.

>He thinks normal people can't install exherbo/gentoo

Installing exherbo was easier than taking candy from a baby you literal fuck

Dude I love it it's so bad. Also pic.

All I need to do is shitepost, anime, and torrent is this the powers to be?

Where does ye think ye be

pirate pls go.

i dont wast time installing things that dont have in apt-get of my vps, that is why i use legacy version of xfce, mysql, php and everyshit.

Am I still on Sup Forums

requesting that rabu raibu image in the best resolution possible.

da.

Am I still browsing Sup Forums? What the hell did you do to Sup Forumsentoomen? I'm mad.

>tfw still using old crunchbang on my lenovo laptop

tried to install this several times and even on a vm and it didn't go forward. unbelievable, I know.

The original CrunchBang is dead, bur it has three followers.

BunsenLabs
- official community continuation of #!, endorsed by original dev
- active development
- active community

CrunchBang++
- one developer
- sluggish development
- aims to be/stay a replica of #! with newer packages
- only building i386 builds for now
- forum on Reddit mostly consisting of sporadic bug reports from users

CrunchBang Monara
- first of the three to release in 2015
- one developer
- no community of any kind that I know of
- starting to create its own identity with the latest release (three weeks ago)

Ayy gimme dat rare akari

THIS TbH
I mean it's almost completely Debian Jessie now but screenfetch still says #!. I like that

I prefer Arch because I'm in Intel so it's safe. Xfce is gold, I never found a better DE.

>Using anything with '++' in the title.
The '++' means 'bloated edition'.

I'm not using any Distro that comes with a WM preinstalled anyways though, let alone a distro based around one.

I don't have the dotfiles but here are the colors

#f0b9ce
#c7aae4

Pretty sure I just edited an Onyx theme.

Openbox, it comes default with C#++

Here you go user

>Lightweight
>Minimal
Why on earth would I want that?

Honestly made me laugh

Never heard about monara thing. Thanks

Set up for you WITH COMPLETE FUCKING GARBAGE BLOATED PLEB SOFTEWARE FOR IDIOTS maybe.

>FUCKING CONKY

SEE

IT EVEN HAS A FEMINIST WINDOW MANAGER WHEN YOU INSTALL THIS SHIT RICE DISTRO FOR WEEBS YOU'RE INSTALLING FEMINISM

I run Debian Jessie with XFCE and it's comfy.

It's fast and light, it looks good, the network manager works and I can easily connect to wireless, volume/brightness buttons work, power management works, removable volume automount works and thunar (or pcmanfm) can mount network volumes.

XFWM even has a minimal compositor which is adequate for my needs and lighter and less intrusive that GNOME's compositor

I'm sceptical in polluting my pure and functioning Debian install with a third party repository.

Would Bunsen Labs Linux (or any of Crunchbang heirs) offer any advantage in the lightness/speed/ease of use department or is it just about looks and making your desktop look unique (ricing)?

I have bunsenlabs installed and its gr8 m8, seriously.
>used crunchbang to revive POS old ass laptop
>loved it, werked gr8, could do everything I needed
>cb died, moved to cb++
>cb++ somewhat different, not supported/active as cb was
>discover bunsenlabs
>install and love it so much I put it wherever I can
>reliable and ez to use, really simple to set up and minimal af
>it just werks™ on an all AMD desktop, so fuck you nodriver memefags
>looks really nice because openbox and is simple to tweak/add themes
>its seriously fast with good hardware, I forgot what loading means on my desktop

I really recommend bunsenlabs, but its your call to leave a good setup.
AMA

I thought crunchbang was dead

>revive POS old ass laptop
Thanks for reminding me bro!
I have an old POS desktop which would be good, I will use Bunsen Labs to revive it

>AMD desktop
I'm on an AMD Laptop and I know what your talking about
Debian just werks, and if it doesn't out of the box you can replace the driver, change the WM or DE and make it work
That's why I love Debian, no artificial barriers like Debian forks

But does it use systemd?

>arch

>1051
Wow, Sup Forums is actually popular as fuck.
Time to migrate.

Cute

for a beginner to linux, should I install this? im going to dual boot with w8

Yes.

what's the difference with debian netinst?

I thought crunchbang died?

actually debian is the universal operative system

Nice blank wallpaper, faggot.

>Hubble deep field
>Cancer

I'm sure you're the kind of faggot who has an anime wallpaper, kys already
