Right now i could get a new GPU but im onto a stupid dilema , since i live on the third world my only choices are the r9 380x and the reference Rx 480 or the GTX960 which should i go for (my goal is 1080p gaming)

why don't these shitty normie fucking fuck threads ever filter
fuck you for making it unfilterable moot. fuck you right in your dirty poo hole.

I want to buy some SPARC hardware but know nothing about it. Any suggestions?

What specs would I need on a server to stream live HD video to over 10k clients?

So I moved some stuff away from it, and changed the elevation of the modem and router so that the modem is closer to the ground while the router is closer to the ground. As you can see by the picture, I'm not getting 85 down on average as opposed to 100 down.

But theres also this hiccup that occurs which makes the speed dip for a bit, as one can see. What causes this?

Are Windows OEM keys legitimate? Is it safe to buy Windows keys off of Kinguin?

I mean, if I buy one of those Windows 10 OEM keys for $10, will I have a copy of Windows that Microsoft won't deactivate 4 months from now?

Bruh, you are being autistic. It will NEVER be at full speed via wireless. The same as you dont have a dedicated 100mbit constant stream supply

There is literally nothing with your router.
Also
Run that test 10 times and youll start to notice something

I'm not asking about the speed anymore, I'm now asking about the dip. What causes it?

sun flares
your neighboors microwave
your walls full of metal

Is there a VPN that would let me post on Sup Forums?
I currently use PIA and have to deactivate it every fucking time I want to post, this is annoying.

moot hates free speech. 98% of tor nodes are blocked, and most vpns are aswell

Most of them are probably going to be banned.

I can not get my z170a mobo to boot direct to windows. How can I fix this? Google is no help at all.

It just loads into the bios every single time and I have to choose windows each time.

what graphics card should I get if mine died () and I want to start anew with Linux (not ubuntu crap I'm thinking arch)

my integrated graphics are slow for loading internet even. not really planning on playing videogames anymore.

other than that I don't know much but am taking computer science courses.

The reason all of the IP addresses associated with anonymity are banned here is because pedo faggots have use those IP addresses to post their shit here, thinking it's funny (it isn't). If anyone where to answer your question and post a VPN in this thread that had new IP addresses that aren't currently banned, it would be seen by some faggot lurking this thread who would use it to post cheese pizza on Sup Forums, which would cause that IP address to be banned permanently.

>vpns aren't private btw

I accidentally scratched my monitor when I pulled it out of the box. Do you think Best Buy will exchange it if I say I got it that way and act understanding, but firmly upset?

Help.

My PC has been randomly restarting for the last couple weeks. There's no rhyme or reason to it, sometimes it'll reboot itself a few seconds after I turn it on, and sometimes it'll go all day and be fine. Sometimes it'll do it when it's idling, other times I'll be doing something graphically or processor heavy. No blue screen, no error messages, it just simply reboots itself.

Temps are fine, and I've cleared CMOS and updated the BIOS. I've been running 3DMark stress tests on it for the last two hours, and it was fine until I started typing this on my laptop and it did it again. All of the tests that were completed successfully came back fine.

It has to be an electricity problem, right? I'm thinking that something might be fucked up in the wall, but I've also got a pretty old UPS I have it plugged into. Could that be an issue?

I just don't get why it's so random. I would think that if it was a hardware issue the reboots would be have a pattern to them, even if it was a PSU issue. I've also got a lot of generic third party power cord extensions running throughout the case. Problem with one of them, maybe?

I've dug my old rig out of storage and I'm going to hook it up to the same outlet to see if it's doing the same shit. Try to isolate as many variables as I can.

Frustrating as shit. Anyone got any ideas?

Pic unrelated, just to get attention.

Whenever a device leaves my home wireless network, the modem starts to drop other devices in the network as well. It happens every few seconds, few seconds of normal connection, few seconds of no response pinging the modem. The problem persists until modem is reset.
What might be the issue?

How to stop firefox from delaying whilst scrolling? This lag is annoying as fuck

I have a 380X and it's great.
The reference 480 is actually still pretty good, if a little louder.

The 4GB 960 is good if your CPU is trash.

It's probably the PSU

Make sure you wired the power switch correctly.

That sounds like a graphics hardware problem

If the video is pre-rendered, even a shitty box could do it.
Your problem is a multicast one.

Any recent xeon cpu should be able to do this easily. You can stream video p2p

Sup Forums doesn't actually know anything about technology that isn't mainstream.

anything better that i should consider for $300 instead of moto g4 64GB 4GB RAM?

keep it at $300 budget pls

I hope not. I can't afford to replace anything right now.

I got handed down a p5e3 deluxe (s775 ddr3). It has a retarded issue where restarting or reseting makes it fail post the next time. To post I need to hold the power button for 5 seconds and then start it.
I tried updating the bios (it was almost stock) but I got nowhere. The previous owner was a retarded braindead that was using a 9600gt without the 6pin plugged in and fried the top pcie slot.
I'm not gonna cry if I can't figure out the problem but I still want to find it. Any replies welcome.

If you're not bluescreening, it's a hardware fault.
Hardware costs money, deal with it.

I had an M5A97 R2.0 that had a similar problem.
I ended up replacing it.

So i'm an IT in the Navy.

Our unclassified/secret/top secret networks are all separate and use Windows 7 Professional.

Our unclass. and T.S. enclaves have registered Windows but our secret network just started giving us the good old expired trial message after the Network went down due to power loss during the switch from ship to shore power.

Is there any way to validate Windows without buying it? I can't authenticate it by the way through Microsoft since the secret network has external websites that aren't ".smil" blocked due to the classifications.

I've used cracking programs to validate windows 7 for myself but that will take awhile to get approved(probably disaproved) by the Information Security Officer and our Information Assurance department.

Any tips would be appreciated.

Thanks, good information to have

I also plan to have a chat room for the 10k clients, and token purchasing. A website similar to Chaturbate. Would this still be fine for one recent Xeon box?

Also any tips for hosting live porn would be cool

Id spend that money towards a cpu upgrade. Skylake igpus are great and kaby lake will be even better.

Without using dodgy third party tools, you can phone MS for each box. Other than that, I don't know.
The reason that authentication doesn't work, is probably the .smil block. You need to get the authentication servers through the firewall.

What's a good free program for recording videos with a webcam?
All the ones I've tried so far are garbage

That's a completely different problem.
Streaming video is simple. It just requires the right networking platform.
Receiving, transcoding, then streaming is far more intensive, and difficult to set up.

Yes would work since igpu will handle video and majority of cores will be free to do other stuff.

There's less and less of us that do, but I know there's still some guys who are actually here to discuss technology

I couldnt even power it on without it being correct. So it has to be.

What should I do? Take it out and put it back?

Heh, just relogged and now it's normal again

Alright
should i get a 390 8Gb if its 50€ cheaper then a rx480 8Gb ?

Yes, if you don't mind the lower efficiency and reduced features.

Trying to setup a LAN party
A friend's PC seems to turn on for about three seconds, then "shut off" without making a single noise or displaying anything at all on the monitor, but leaving the fans still running.

Checked the RAM, did the "disconnect everything, press power button for 30 secs, plug everything back in" trick, and nothing.

Pls help.

Is the GPU plugged into the PSU?

mind if I ask how to corroborate that?

How often should I open up my computer to dust the insides?

How do I change Windows 10 to LTSB without reinstalling?

once every month or two is pretty fine

You forgot MemePads.

I still use my i5-3570K and want to keep it but I want to upgrade my motherboard so I can get DDR4 RAM, is that doable or will I have to get a more up to date CPU?

You enter the product key for ltsb and it changes automatically
I would reinstall if I was you though.

Welp, nevermind.
It's working now, fuck knows why.

Is there a way to watch embedded flash live streams (e.g., a news website) without soiling an otherwise free of non-free computing system?

How do I decompress a PNG file from a Unity game?

No, sorry. Freedom isn't free.

Assuming I upgraded from Wine with the free upgrade, how can I get the LTSB key?

ark.intel.com/products/65520/Intel-Core-i5-3570K-Processor-6M-Cache-up-to-3_80-GHz

>Wine
Win7, not Wine. Goddamned phones.

You don't get an LTSB key. They don't exist.

From wine?
I dont know what you mean but I can see the product key of my windows 10 edu version under system info

Probably because your filter sucks. Perhaps you assumed OP would always put "/sqt/" in the title. I was bitched at once for putting "/SQT/" instead.

I had this problem on Windows 8.1 and strangely it went away entirely when I upgraded to 10. Now it scrolls really smooth.

Can I install LTSB if my computer is 'enabled' for Windows 10?

I have a best buy geek squad brand UPS. Better to just leave it in the basement, or worth swapping out my plain old surge protector/power bar for it?
Is any UPS better than none?

Yes. It uses a different authentication system.

How about /\/sqt\//i

Why the fuck do people use Arch? I can't wrap my head around why anyone would do it.

It's fun.

dwarffortresswiki.org/index.php/DF2014:Fun

How do I filter a thread with a certain filename in Sup Forums X? Like if the filename is bananapicture.png or bananaimage.jpg and I just want an image with the word "banana" to be hidden. I'm reading a guide but putting something like /banana/i;boards:g in the filename section doesn't seem to work.

>an image with the word "banana" to be hidden.
I meant the thread with that image hidden, not the picture

Fucking up is fun!

Either way, it keeps you busy.

There is no internal end point, single goal, final Easter egg or "You Win!" announcement in Archlinux. Therefore, eventually, almost every install will die. The only ones that don't, tend to be very conservative and very boring—and what fun is that? Thus, Arch = fucking up ∧ Arch = fun ⇒ fucking up = fun, and that's okay! It's a distro philosophy, so embrace it, own it, and have fun with it!

Most new players will fuck up their first few installs sooner rather than later; when you fuck up an install, don't feel like you don't understand the game. ArchLinux has a steep learning curve (often referred to as a "cliff"), and part of the process (and fun!) is discovering things for yourself. However, this Wiki serves as an excellent place to speed up the learning process.

When you fuck up, you can always chroot and fix it, or go visit it from a live distro.

If you're looking for more ways to lose horribly test yourself, try either installing it from source or installing random packages from the AUR.

...

This works perfectly if you replace fun with autism.

No, see, that's the intention. It's supposed to be inferred by the reader.

>from Wine
This makes me want to try running GWX.exe in Wine.

I plugged it in. Am I going to blow up? Looks like the load capacity is about 900w. What are the chances this is going to fuck up and ruin my whole setup? Should I put a surge protector between the UPS and everything else, or between the wall and the UPS?

or /\/sqt\/\|questions thread/i
would catch this one as well as the silly people who call it "small questions thread" because they find "stupid" to be triggering

Is it a bad idea to format an exFAT drive (hard drive) in Defraggler?

Life finds a way

...
Why would you do that?

>format a drive in a program for defragging a drive
Why not use the usual right click format thing? If it's not available, Rufus is good at forcing Windows to format a drive with a given filesystem.

But yeah I'm guessing Defraggler just asks the system to format it, so it should be fine.

What the hell do you think putting a surge protector between your UPS and the wall is going to do?

It would be hilarious if MS programmed it to unhook your linux distro from the storage devices, download a copy of Windows 10, and flash /dev/sda

Wait, where in fuck are you finding a format option in Defraggler. I'm looking through all the menus and I'm not seeing it.

And then inform you your windows activation is invalid

I meant defrag. Holy shit I'm a retard.

Stop the shitty UPS from catching fire if a surge happens? Idk. Feel like I shouldn't use it. I don't trust this thing.

Oh, sure, yeah that's fine.

>I would reinstall if I was you though.

I am on win8 right now

how to get to LTSB

But >gawker says I don't need to?

We already have Linux installers that can run from Windows. Debian has one for download at goodbye-microsoft.com.

This could be goodbye-rms.com. And yes it's quite doable... shrink or delete the last partition, raw write a zipped Windows image there, then expand it over the rest of the drive. Something of the sort should work, at least.

exFAT is designed for flash storage. It fragments the fuck out of your files.

Well it's probably got shitty sine waves, but it also probably doesn't matter. I doubt sandwiching your USP in surge protectors is going to do shit though

Yeah. I think it defrags exFAT using Windows defrag APIs, so it's Windows handling the actual data moving, not Defraggler. So that should be safe.

If Defraggler were handling moving chunks around like '90s defrag programs did, I'd be worried unless they specifically said exFAT was fully supported.

>Use ext4 and never defragment your external drive again
more like. I've run an ext4 filesystem for 6 years now, nearly 100% full a lot of the time, with enough writes and deletes, and it is still something like 0.2% fragmented. Meanwhile FAT, NTFS and HFS+ all get fairly fragmented from a lot less.

My computer had its first BSOD since its been built well over an year ago, and Im going absolutely apeshit over it
The CPU has been reaching 60° to 70° temps just by browsing, so I have been using my actual fan to cool it off by putting it in the general direction of the computer. I dont have money on me this week so I cant buy a decent cooler yet, I knew I shouldnt have stuck with a stock one but I had a cheap fuck mentality back then.
Anyway Im googling and cant seem to find something quite like what my dump has. I havent installed anything recently, it just happened. I thinking a thousand things could have happened but Id appreciate someone giving me some tips to round this shit about.

ignore it until it does it again.

>not going to do shit

As in its probably going to catch fire anyway, right? Would you trust a geeksquad UPS that a dead man gave you?
