You could do more with the first
The first one won't burn my house so it's better
bluray porn 7/24
Second. I'd leave games downloading for a couple of days and then play them.
All the other content I like that is online is totally manageable with a 100kB/s connection. Movies might be an issue, but again, leave it downloading for an hour.
The first, because then I would actualy have drivers that work
>le epic AMD is hot meme xD
>also it has le no drivers xD
Can we maybe go one thread without reddit surging up?
you got the memes mixed up familia
nvidia burns your house
Obviously the first one.
>le epic 'Facts about AMD are memes, meme"
the first one cause I'm not 5 years old GAYMING child
Ok prove those facts. Show me a new article about a house burned down by an AMD card or prove they have absolutely no drivers.
easily the first
I'd go with the second because my local network isn't a bottleneck for what I do and adding a second internet connection at 800kbps would significantly improve on my shitty adsl.
/rural problems
I find it hard to believe anyone would choose the second option.
500MB/s internet? Holy fuck sign me up.
>it'sfuckingnothing.jpg
The first because I use integrated anyways
I'm not a 3D graphics, mechanical engineer or a gaming man child, so I obviously choose A).
If I really need GPU for neural networks or other research, I just rent a cluster from Amazon. It will be nice to use thanks to my fast Internet connection.
Are you shilling cloud gaming?
I'm torn. I'm used to having a nice rig, but I've had shit internet forever.
I might have to take the first, but at the same time as much as Sup Forumsentoomen hate gaymen, I'd want the extra good internet for gaymes.
P-please no bully.
It is possible to use a computer without playing video games.
How are the newest intel HD graphics?
Get the first
Stream all my games
Tell that to my boss.
liquidsky
Shit. Nowhere even close to dedicated GPU's.
Are you an engineer or 3D graphics artist?
Is Iris Pro Graphics 580 allowed or is it limited to HD530?
Currently have 980Ti and about 160kB/s download speed.
Meh, it takes longer to download and I can't stream HD video. Big deal.
The Iris Pro 6200 is about equal to an Nvidia 460 or AMD 7770
I'm a a coder gril. And also a gamer one :3
Pick A
Get a raid of SSDs (enough to stream uncompressed 4K)
Buy a server with dedicated GPUs
Stream the image through your network connection
what if i have sata ssd in raid
muh games
Your life sure sounds like fun
Newest Iris Pro 580 has 30% more gflops.
From Broadwell to Skylake, so I guess that's a 30% performance increase since it's a comparison between 2 recent intel iGPUs
So I guess it's ok for 720p gaming.
Just use a ramdisk instead.
The latency and speed of that is enormous.
It is difficult to imagine but there are fun activities other than video games.
>there are no reasons to use a GPU other than 3D graphics, mechanical engineering and gaming
Maybe it's more than 30% since the 580 has much more execution units.
What other reasons?
I use mine for realtime video processing
The usual reasons gamers give when their childish hobby is questioned.
They're all professional 3D artists and photographers working with Gigapixel images that require a GPU to work with.
First one, I'd just use a remote session to a real machine, all I need anyways is emacs/vim and maybe some simulator stuff that I can do remotely
First one obviously.
Always buy fast SSDs and RAID them to get a few TB/s internet speed.
Then buy a server or simply another computer with a good GPU and stream games from it.
First. Then I would buy a 1060 because I am not poor.
I use mine for robot simulation with ROS and gazebo, and I process point clouds for computer vision.
How much better is Iris Pro 580 compared to Iris Pro 5200?
In the popular game BioShock Infinite, at 1680x1050 resolution, the Iris Pro 580 is just 26.3% faster than the Iris Pro 5200. In Tomb Raider, the Iris Pro 580 is able to pull ahead of the 5200 by about 55% at 1680x1050. In Sleeping Dogs, the delta is about 44.5% at the same resolution.

A short test run of Doom (2016) on the NUC6i7KYK with Iris Pro 580 graphics using the current available beta driver (15.40.26.4474).
Settings: 1366x768, FXAA (1TX), no VSYNC, preset high
The framerates get better when using the "medium" preset at 1366x768. 1920x1080 is unplayable, even at lowest setting.
But these aren't done with a gaming series GPU
Anyone who would choose the second option needs to
I do it, because why would I pay out the arse for 10x more expensive enterprise GPUs when a consumer GPU does it just fine?
Second, because it would upgrade both my internet (as long as the 100kB/s is consistent) and graphics.
discrete graphics are a meme
they idle at 70C roughly the surface temp of our earth's sun and theres no good graphically intensive games in the history of gayming anyways. every good game does more with less and reading a good book is more illustrative than the latest low polycount ugly chase-game that all the kiddies have to have for 79.99 at gaymstawp
Point cloud processing usually is, the tegra for instance is pretty hot in robotics.
The first one would be better for games as well as internet.
/thread
High local network speed will mean nothing if you don't also have a good internet connection. In most cases (especially where I live) the bottleneck is the fucking ISP and not the connection betwixt the router and PC.
1 ofc
but i have intel hd graphics and 500kbps connection
ah, i have r8xxx as discrete but i use it almost never
>underaged manchildren and their "vidya"
>implying graphics even make for good games
First, easily.
>consumer
Spotted the Jew
The term “consumer,” when used to refer to the users of computing, is loaded with assumptions we should reject. Some come from the idea that using the program “consumes” the program, which leads people to impose on copiable digital works the economic conclusions that were drawn about uncopiable material products.
In addition, describing the users of software as “consumers” refers to a framing in which people are limited to selecting between whatever “products” are available in the “market.” There is no room in this framing for the idea that users can directly exercise control over what a program does.
To describe people who are not limited to passive use of works, we suggest terms such as “individuals” and “citizens,” rather than “consumers.”
he means internet bandwidth, autist
>He means X, he means Y
How do you know what the OP meant?
>inb4 it's obvious
>SJW nu-speak bullshit
no thanks
its a picture of speedtest.net
now yes, the ookla product can test any server could be on your LAN but fuck off
Network speed equal to HDD R/W speed. I don't really play manchild games
>shitty graphics
or
>shitty graphics
But there is no winning OP
>The genie grants your wish, but instead of increasing your "network speed" he simply laughs and explains that, "You now have 2 wishes left." You check your configuration... this can't be right... you network speed didn't increase instead your hard disk was replaced by old chinky hdds from alibaba that read/write as slow as your moms AOL dialup.
Anons didn't anybody ever tell you not to deal with genies
First one, intel graphics are decent enough for New Vegas
intel hd graphics is good enough for every single game I play
first will allow me to stream 4k normie movies
>mfw my hard drive has shit itself
If it were the same speed as my SSD, then I'd pick the first one
Otherwise, second.
doesnt your hdd run at around 120 MBps?
Newer Intel HD graphics are pretty good for what they are desu.
I'm a PE, and I don't think I've ever used my GPU explicitly for work related stuff
I still can't say no to the Nano's. I'll manage on 100 KB/s
what would you do with them? what games or apps? have you ever watched a 1080p movie which is more than 20GB?
>Implying I actually play video gayms.
The first one because I can just buy a better computer.
That's easy, the first one.
I already only use intel hd graphics.
I've watched raws before, yes, but only when no better source was available. Usually I go for 720p Hi-10p, because most 1080p are upscales anyway, and my GPU does that better.
I'd play games on them. I'm not tied to one genre.
this
Network speed. No question at all.
>implying I need R9 nanos to pretend Im a girl in WoW and watch my taiwanese cartoons
My HDD is fucked and offers rural american transfer rates
But i already have a 100kb/s connection.
First for my little company. We're really can utilize that 0,5 Gbps link.
Joke's on you I have Intel HD graphics and an HDD
Both will be an improvement to my 56k ADSL
>rural problems
Fuckin A man. At least I get LTE out here, serve the whole house with it.
the question is still valid
>asking this question on Sup Forums
what answers were you expecting exactly?
1st this is Sup Forums not Sup Forums
they would say it's for Sup Forums
That's how it is for 99% of people.
/r/iamverysmart
Atm the second situation is pretty much like mine, this is hell, worse than living in syria
I feel like Sup Forums is getting taken over by gaymers, first we were Sup Forumsentoomen pretty soon we'll be Sup Forumsaymen
Obviously the first. I haven't even ever bought a graphics card. The Intel HD graphics are completely okay for my gaming needs
I want to play hearts of iron 4 and the new mountain blade looks fun
What the fuck, this is Sup Forums, go back to pcmasterrace, we don't like your kind.
That shit runs on iGPU
Those are 100% CPU bottlenecked.
