Where's the other thread? I thought we always make 2 and pick a winner?

>I thought we always make 2 and pick a winner
What is this your second day on Sup Forums? That's only happened when OP fucks up by forgetting "/sqt/", because without it the thread's basically dead.

And the thread before it when an OP really wanted a frog pic

how do I get this letter in latex?

Where do I go if I have a stupid question?

What is this cable called and where can I get it? (The one he connects to the SSD)

youtu.be/nl8dd7R555s?t=7m56s

This is the thread and you know it, you fucking dumbass.

Are radeon drivers the same for mobile and desktop gpus? eg. Can I use a 6xxxx HD driver for an 6xxxM gpu?

I have a desktop with a 2 TB hard drive and a 128 G ssd that runs Windows 7 and it's mostly for gaymes but also schoolwork. Along with this I have my ThinkPad that is running arch at the moment. I'm looking for an external hard drive and I don't know what size I was thinking 1 or 2 TB. I'd really just be backing up schoolwork and my linux partitions.

I hid a folder of photos inside of one of these python folders. I now can not find it anywhere or find individual images from it. Where did they go and can i recover them?

Looks like a ribbon cable specific to that particular model

I found an HDD and tried hooking it to my pc, didnt get recognized, disk management gives me a i/o error, what do?

Are the 3TB Seagate drives still shit? WD doesn't offer 7200rpm drives in such capacity unless you pay double for the black drives.

Throw it away

Reposting from last thread:

Looking for recommendations on a desk for my home.

Need:
L-shaped
Large enough to fit mid-size tower, 27' monitor, and a lamp and not feed cluttered and cramped
Doesn't look like shit
Not stupidly priced
Right-hand side the shorter one

Any help?

Will everyone think I have autism if I bring my desktop to college (dorms) rather than buy a laptop?

I have an asus radeon 7770 and used to get ultra graphics and 100 fps on tf2, now i only get around 30 on low. What happened?

rsync -ruvL --delete ~/Music /mnt/fuze

It "works" in that it creates a perfect mirror of ~/Music in /mnt/fuze, but it also is slow as dicks. Since it slows down especially on larger files I can only assume it's copying over what's already there.
How can I make rsync not do this?

anything else than laptops or mobile devices are autistic according to normies

>list of unconventional demands
>suits (You)r personal aesthetic tastes
>cheap
It's hopeless.

Go to a carpenter and let them make one.
I got my table made too with enough slots, drawers, space for the tower and the wood/colors I wanted.
It might be pricey at first, but you'll have it for decades.

--ignore-existing

Should I be scared? What should I do?

You should probably start backing shit up. If your computer's working well enough to be able to run that then you're safe for now, but you're looking over the cliff.

Replace the drive dummy.

msi cr650 fresh installed manjaro mate but no sound, discovered that for some ungodly reason it only sees the hdmi port as audio input/output, the realtek soundcard is not there
how to fix?

some info:
alsa-project.org/db/?f=c8fb0efeca59684e7429b9f681358190223a3312
the soundcard is not faulty also it should be a realtek one, worked on ubuntu and debian fine

I want to sell off my computer to build a new one. Probably Craigslist. Should I keep the hard drive? I've never used this computer for anything illegal, or for anything embarrassing even (my laptop is the designated porn machine), but the hdd probably does have some of my personal info. I'm just concerned about safety.
Would a standard windows refresh suffice? I want to be able to sell this as a "ready to go custom gaming computer" so it would take away from that to make the customer buy a new hard drive and windows key.

DBaN that motherfucker.

Just googled DBaN. Seems like a great option.

My only question; I'm using a Windows 10 OEM key. Will I be able to re-install windows and use the same key? It should be tied to the Mobo and not the hdd, correct?

What are some good operating systems to use on the RasPi? I'm just looking to turn it into a little torrenting machine rn.

what's the cheapest ultrabook with decent battery life that can run overwatch? league?

Generally yes. You might have some luck with the key being paired to your microsoft account after todays update, but that would take the license off the old computer anyway, which would be bad for resale value

Windows 10 is free

Depends on how you sell it. You could be that badass with the crazy ass tech. Tell them you're a dj or some shit

I installed win10 fresh on a new computer a week ago and I've noticed something strange
Some things that I install don't appear when I search for them in the start menu.
I know they should pop up because they did in Win7 on another comp.
Should I just do a fresh reinstall or is this something solvable?

Upgrade to Windows 7

Holy hell you two are raging faggots. You don't need to make up lies to explain that you use a desktop computer because it makes sense for your use case.
If somebody goes into your room and says "eww a desktop?" then they're a dumbass not worth spending time with. Unless it's a hot one-night-stand, in which case just cover it with a blanket or some shit.
That said, you might want to pick up a cheap used laptops just for note taking / web research in class.

Looking to get a new keyboard, currently have some piece of shit rubber dome thing. Any recommendations?

>Not riding her doggy on that sweet sweet Storm Trooper Case

I uploaded a video on youtube with coypright music and it got instantly blocked. Can I somehow bypass the filter without changing the length of the audio? If I had to do this, the whole sync would be fucked and it'd take several hours to resync everything again.

I'm having trouble with Exhentai, I have the chrome extension installed but it's not giving me the option to login. Tried it with firefox same issue

You don't have to reinstall, just do that refresh thing. Honestly though you shouldn't have to search for every app, just do something creative with you bookmarks

Refresh?
Never done it. Does it refer to refreshing the entire OS or just the indexing?
Also what do you mean by bookmarks? Then pinned apps on the start menu?

Where do you guys buy bitcoins?

Was it an inevitable fact for analogue tech to evolve into digital tech?

anyone else having trouble setting up cock mail with k-9

What is this music player?
Any cozy music players if you don't know about this one?
(Please and thank you.)

Okay for some reason whenever I try to go to paypal it can't find the server no matter what browser I use.
However when I use my phones 4G I can go to the paypal website just fine, but when it connects to my wifi it no longer finds the server.

What could cause this issue?

Will turning off the passive cooling (having the fans on all the time) on my Gigabyte G1 1070 hurt the card?

mpd + ncmpcpp + feh

Yes

Well then maybe FUCKING TITLE IT CORRECTLY YOU PIECE OF SHIT

Nah

if anything it should potentially increase the lifespan of the card by keeping it cooler. the fans might theoretically wear out faster but by the time that happens 1070 will be obsolete anyway.

stewpid kwesjohns chenerel

So the fans should last at least 3 years? They're not using low quality ones since the card is supposed to be passively cooled until it reaches 50C?

I want to make a simple storage application. It should be desktop and save all things(name of product, price etc.) that I put into it in database which i can backup to other places(mounted drive, network). What language should I use to make it relatively fast? Also names of helpful libraries appreciated.

Could someone give me sources for studying for CCNA? Wanna learn some in advance.

What are the requirements for a motherboard that I plan to have an overclocked processor on?

just good power delivery, pretty much all motherboards in the z series have the requirements you need, even the cheapo ones like pc mate

mostly what he said You should still google the chipset on it, the first few results will tell you all you need to know.

have an msi laptop i didnt use it for months
now i pick it and try to boot it up nothing
the battery ran dry, maybe i just didnt turn it off whatever
but now it wont let me charge above 54% and when its reached the battery led starts blinking red
is the battery completely fucked or just linux messing with shit?

C++ question: I have a class A inheriting from several parametrizations of B:
class A : public B, B, ..., { ... };
When I increase the number parents from 6 to 7 segfaults occur on a matrix operation. If I remove any of the parent such that the number of parents is 6 or less, the segfault on the matrix operation disappears (segfault occurs when computing the inverse of identity matrix, glm::inverse(mat4()), which should be fine).

So there's some weird shit going on with the number of parents. I managed to get rid of the segfault using virtual inheritance instead:
class A : public virtual B, B, ..., { ... };. Using virtual inheritance makes the problem disappear altogether and the code works flawlessly. The problem is I have no clue whatsoever what's going on.

Has anyone experienced this before?

tl;dr: What does virtual inheritance do when inheriting from several parametrizations of the same class?

Why do threads keep getting randomly deleted?

does low tdp equate low temperature for Intel cpu's? i want to plan for a small case computer with passive cooling and low energy use

why am i getting flashing black bars on my videos during playback?

pic related in the upper half

I have 3 drives in my computer: 1 SSD for OS and 2 x 2TB HDDs for storage. I reformatted at some point, and I don't "own" my own harddrives anymore except for the SSD I installed Windows 10 on. I have to ask for permissions for doing things all the time. If I don't run programs in admin-mode, they don't get permissions to save stuff, so it either doesn't save or it crashes.

How can I take back ownership of these two 2TB drives?

Pic related, it's my life in a nutshell

your computer is trying to save you from the cancer you'll be getting for watching family guy

You have to take ownership of the drive and then change permissions for the files. It's a 2 step process

You're cursed

It's a pretty sweet feeling

halp pls

What are some good resources for learning about digital video? I want to optimize my Chinese cartoon experience.

Am I the only one having this new google theme one of 50 search ?
How to keep it ?

hopefully yes

Task Manager tells me that Chrome is using up all my bandwidth, even with no tabs open except "about chrome", and it says it's up to date. What gives?

what kind of faggy language is that?

Go to the drives properties>security>advanced, click change next to owner, type in your user name and check names, ok. Check replace all child objects at the bottom. OK out of everything, then go back into advanced again and hit change permissions, add your name or 'everyone' if you dont give a shit, then edit the name and allow full control. Hit ok. Check replace child object, uncheck include inheritable if it's there. Ok out of everything

My laptop has a combined phone/mic jack, I'm on Windows 10.
My question is how can I use the volume controls on my headphones with Windows.

do you actually care? if so, that's a bigger problem

Ask to your father

get a license to use that music, or use other music (there does exist freely-licensed music)

>gets offended by having your language being called faggy
so it's french then

The mic wire can be used to send command.
Just plug your android headphone and try to press Vol+/-

That's what I'm trying to do.
I've plugged in the headphones from my LG G3 and the buttons don't work.

Does anyone know of a way to filter through a youtube subscription feed? I am subscribed to a lot of fighting game channels that post multiple different fighting games but I'm only interested in one, so I would like to have a method to remove the rest of them from my feed.

Is there a way to limit the bandwidth that people use through my official verizon fios router? I have a nephew that completely destroys the internet with his use of netflix, xbox online, and youtube all running at the same time. I want to limit how much bandwidth he can use so that I can actually get use-able usage. Is there a way to limit bandwidth with the router that came with Verizon FIOS, or will I need a 3rd party router? If I need a third party router, any recommendations?

One of the wires is used for sending the command of back and forward and so on.

If you know basic syntax and problem solving in programming Java/C#/C++, how hard is it to learn how a driver works and write one for, let's say, a 3-button mouse? How long would it take do you think?

Just curious.

I doubt it. ISP routers generally come with as few options as possible. You could google routers that are openwrt compatable and use whatever's cheapest, although if he's on his own network he will have a little extra latency and closed nat type in games, but nothing major.

Thanks guys, it worked flawlessly. I just have one more question. Is it safe to do this on my C:\ drive as well? I see that the owner of C:\ is TrustedInstaller, and that I am the owner of D:\ and E:\.

Again, thanks.

Trying to install windows XP on a new partition.
First tried with a USB but I get an 0x00....7B bsod which is apparently due to some SATA settings. The thing is that the BIOS won't let me set the needed SATA setting to compatibility mode, so installing from a USB is simply not possible.

I still have the files from the ISO extracted though and can run WINNT32.exe

The only thing is that is says the PC "may" restart (thoguh I don't remember windows restarting whenever i have installed in a virtual amchine), but then it won't be able to read the files i think

Is it safe or will I ruin it all?

You can do it on the directories that your personal files are in, but I wouldn't mess with the permissions of your system files unless you have a good reason.

I need a file explorer to see windows shares on ios for a user, anyone have a recommendation?

You mean network bandwidth? I use TCPView to check what hogs my network, it's a small free tool. Just fire it up and sort by "Recieved packets" if it's hogging download bandwidth or "Sent packets" if it's hogging upload bandwidth. Then you will know what's actually going on.
