Mfw I've been waiting to buy a graphics card since 2014
I'm buying a 1070.

Godspeed, it will last you until you feel the need to fall for the 4k meme.

Naw, just get the 480 or 1060.

>actually listening to Sup Forums

>AMDfags
Cherrypicked benchmarks and mental gymnastics wont make a shit product good.

Once you get that 1070 youll realize what youve been missing out on, user

Don't wait anymore, it's just a stupid fucking Sup Forums meme. Get a 1070, I really wish I could get one.
I currently have a 3470 and 970, so i'll upgrade in a few years when I feel like it.

I might not ever have to upgrade since I barely play games anymore. Maybe all I need is an SSD to be set for the next few years.

390 didnt have reference models that im aware of
since it was a rehash all the 390s already had pretty good custom versions on launch

Shapphire would beg to differ

>Once you get that 1070 youll realize what youve been missing out on, user

Yeh, about 1.5GB of VRAM.

just buy a 4gb fury like the rest of the waitfags

hahahahha

>m-muh VRAM!!!!
970 still wrecked AMD, and it took them 2 years to catch up.

Again, mental gymnastics, you AMDtards think Vram means shit when Nvidia's offerings destroy AMD's curry-made technology.

Enjoy your inevitable rebate in 2 years time.

Enjoy being able to play only Ashes of Singularity.

>going to buy a $300 GPU
>he buys a $500 GPU instead

Great logic here.

>waste money on shitty poo in loo tech
>spend a little bit more 2nd time around and get something that just werks

Its a good lesson to learn to never cheap out, if OP bought the Nvidia in the first place he wouldnt lose money having to deal with AMDshit

Don't listen to wait fags user. Do it

I don't get this meme. My gt9800 gave me far more problems than my hd7850. I guess it's a YMMV kind of thing.

No user wait for 1060ti

>tfw 6870

I just found out I can add my 290x that's gathering dust to my 295x2. I wish I knew that a year ago.

Good for you, did the same. It's a great card so far, also there are some partners who grant more than 3 years warranty, I'd highly recommend getting one of those.
I was so hyped for the 480 and they just wouldn't release good customs and the ones that are soon to be released are too expensive. As my 7870 died I had to act and just got the 1070. Hopefully the 5XX launch will work out better.

Fucking hilarious considering how a gimped 970 murdered pretty much everything in AMD's line-up forcing them to reduce the prices of their cards.

Nvidia are evils but AMD are incompetent

ive got some wet wipes here for you

>aftermarket 480 supposedly release in September 2016
Oh god really? I've been waiting on them but I haven't heard updates on anything but the Nitro for over a week. Why the fuck is it taking so long?

Nvidia and AMD cucked everyone with paper launches.

Yeah fuck it mate. 1070 is fine. Though Vega will probably be sweet. Just upgrade with whatever the fuck you want. Then upgrade again Whenever the fuck you want.

If you're in the $350 range you should save up a bit more and get a 1070 unless you're on 1080p and don't want to upgrade monitors any time soon then get a 480/1060.

Have fun with your triple house fire

>buy 1070
>put in the cd to install drivers
>autorun
>3 boxes with GeForce Experience, Google Chrome and Google Drive
>untick all this crap and continue
>you cannot continue without ticking the GeForce Experience
>the fuck ok i guess
>it installs JUST the GeForce Experience and no drivers
>huh
>open cd contents
>there is a folder named Driver
>thats weird why would they hide it like this
>it contains some setup.exe
>run it
>it is a GeForce Experience setup
>look at the cd
>it says driver right there
>there is no fucking driver on the cd

How is this allowed?

Op here
I was on a budget... you know, IN 2014!!!

>put in the cd to install drivers

Ok, you got me, I used an disc image on a zip disquette.

>cd

www.nvidia.com/download/index.aspx

Also I don't like GeForce Experience

>mfw aib 480s have been out for 2 weeks
>mfw using a 4gb nitro till HBM2 cards drop
>its totally silent unless you alter the voltage

1060 and 480 are pretty much the same at the moment except one is $50 cheaper and takes advantage of new standards.

if anyone thinks nvidia wont abandon the 10xx series when they get HBM you are naive. very interested in Q4

I bought a 1060 because of the AIB bullshit with the 480.

AMD really fucked up hard. They're targeting mainstream which would make you think that they had a shit ton of 480s out there but in reality they had the same sort of production problems that Nvidia has been having.

Haven't owned an Nvidia card since the 9 series so hopefully I didn't get memed.

...

Can buy a Fury right now for $300. By far the best deal around.

just bought a barely used 970 for 200€

feels good man

...

>I'm buying a 1070.
just fucking do it, pussy.

It's tech. it will only be relevant for 6 months till something else gets announced and if you don't just settle now you'll always be waiting for the next big thing.

I bought a 390 used and haven't looked back. For a "rehash" of a 2.5 year old card it holds up amazingly at 1080p. I don't plan on upgrading till it cant do high settings @ 60fps. then I'll start looking at what the factions have to offer.

the lawsuit ruled otherwise

>muh .5 gb!!!
>Moar cores!!!
>Moar Vram!!!
the more AMDfags cry it out, the more the 970 outperforms the rx480 and gains marketshare on Steam

but it does not.
>desperate tomb raider super clocked vs stock 480 benchmark in 3...2...1...

>user wait for 390
>390 comes out
>user 390 is rehash of 290 but expensier, wait for aftermarket

ITT things that never happened. There where no reference 390s.

Can someone reminds me which 1060 are good and which one we should avoid ?

>still having a DVD reader in your pc

>desperate Ashes of Singularity benchmark or the other 1% of games where the 480 is good at all in 3...2...1...

...

>doing what Sup Forums tells you
You are not only a cuck, but also stupid.

pajeet plox

>not comparing benchmarks and buying best price/performance card

>be me.
>on market for parts to make my computer whisper quiet/silent in idle.
>See that Nvidia gtx 900 cards didn't spin fans in idle.
>Didn't gayme tooo much, thought an Evga 960 gtx would be good enough to play basic games, and emulators at 1440p, and have my nice quiet pc.
>launch games, notice performance is really shit, and memory speed was fucking shit, that the games would stutter when moving camera around as gamr loads textures, and the overall performance was bearly any better than my easy to overclock 7850 hd. Also, that famous buzz saw nvidia coil whine, and ticking sounds the fans made in passive ftw.
>return shitty 960 gtx.
>see that the R9 290 cards were dropping down in price, being near 250-275 for the Sapphire one.
>Notice a rumor that the 390 after markets will have passive fans in idle.
>wait for 390, get disappointed it was a rebrand.
>liked the 8gb of VRAM, and passive fans in idle.
>Bought the Sapphire Nitro 390 on release day, a bit burnt on spending the extra money, but overall happy I guess, no issues, silent in idle for the most part, not a jet engine when gaymen, peformance has been pretty good at 1440p for me, but the heat output sucks for summer...

>tfw my 390 is as fast, if not faster than the 480.
>tfw my 390 has improved from drivers.
>tfw my 390 will surpass a 980 soon.
>tfw my 390 will have hopefully an extended lifespan when DX12 titles roll out.

summerfags out

ok so you are a crybaby because you waited?

and 480 is better than 1060

thats kinda bullshit tho, you say it like 970 trampled on all amd lineups, it didnt.

amd had 290x priced way higher because no competition at the time.

nvidia released 970 and amd had to drop the price on the 290 lol. 1 card.

also the 290 kinda rapes the 970's 3.5memebytes ass today

thats it.

>The sky is green, I tell you!

no user, wait for titan X

it is

Why people keep saying this

the aftermarket 390 was available on launch so no one bought that thing

the 1070 is a fantastic card, so you cant go wrong with it.

This. I just bought a Fury a few months ago and it was the best PC related purchase I have made since my x4, and the best all around since my bikeu~. Definitely buy one if you can get a good deal friends ^3^

Fury X is still 650 usd in my country while the Fury is still more expensive than the already overpriced 1070. 390X is slightly less expensive than the overpriced 1070 tho.

OP, wait for the 1080Ti

>tfw 390

...

Except it isn't, I got an aftermarket 980ti for 350 euro and it trashes the fury in pretty much every game
