Linux and *BSD users get along.

Nothing wrong with BSD

>Lol Hipster
Yes, this is a tech board

>Windows > OSX > (Linux = BSD)
Both Linux and BSD are open source and actually lets you use the OS without shoving ads and mandatory spyware up throat. BSD and Linux have competitions while Microsoft and Apple makes you pay for ads in desktops

Nothing wrong with BSD

I agree.

Basically
Deprecated
Software

That's BDS

Why is beastie so mean?

Well, let's not bully BSD and see if we can come along

>tfw writing a front-end for pf using ksh and sed
what the fuck am i doing

What does your front end even do? I'm curious, as it's not hard to use pf.

all it does allow me to forward ports from a web interface

its just an experiment

Nice to see a BSD thread happening on a regular basis. GNU/Linux and BSD are friends, not enemies.

Also glad janitor is stepping in and now deleting anti-BSD shitposting quickly.

Good luck user.

Anyone else using wiconfig? Pretty convenient for using OpenBSD on laptops

How well does Intel WiFi support OpenBSD?

man.openbsd.org/pci.4
ctrl+f intel on there

I think I want to put a BSD on my T420, and I think I want to put on OpenBSD (after 20+ years of Linux).

OpenBSD 6.0 is releasing in less than a month. Should I wait? Should I install 5.9? Should I install a beta of 6?

Is OpenBSD my best choice? Should I try a different one instead? I like the marketed simplicity of OpenBSD, but I have never once tried it.

OpenBSD is fairly easy to upgrade, so I don't think that's a big problem.

You literally grab a file and all the sets from the OpenBSD FTP and boot that file.

It wasn't the janitor nor a mod.

So he pussied out and deleted his comment?

did your caretaker lose track of you again?

Just switch to Linux already :^)

OpenBSD can be installed in 10 minutes it's that simple.

You can pretty much just press enter throughout the whole thing too. Devs spent a lot of time tweaking the installers defaults so it requires very little input

>10 minutes
I installed the thing in five minutes, man.

GNU and BSD shouldn't have tension, they are both free as in freedom Operating Systems that are UNIX like, hate the people who like to bash on the two, the real enemy is Windows and macOS

It's just a few shitposters trying to start some shit. /fglt/ for example, most there will think BSD is either meh or cool, but won't want to start any fanboy war between BSD and GNU/Linux.

im amazed at how other operating systems, even the other BSDs, still manage to fuck that up
