Hey Sup Forums

hey Sup Forums

i was always complaining about these flagship normie phones being flimsy peices of glass that break if you blow on it... no idea why people shell out 800 dollars for an iphone 12 when their iphone 11sc w/e still works fine and does everything they need...

anyway, i found something that breaks the cycle of stupidity... cat s60, i just preordered it.

>3800 mah battery
>720p screen, so your not killing your battery with 8k 1800 ppi unnecsary bs
>32 gb storage / 3gb ram / 8 core big little processor
>waterproof to 15 feet for an hour. actually waterproof
>impact resistant from face height
>oh, and it has a FUCKING THERMAL CAMERA

yeah... i just spent 600 bucks on this bad boy... i bet its gonna last more than 6 years as well. not bad...

what you think Sup Forumsentoomen?

>600$
>on that
eeeeeeeh should've actually got a flagship and a good case, you fucking cuck

not bad, but what os does it run? also is the battery removable?

for what reason though? its a phone... im not trying to play crysis on it. my current phone has 512mb of ram and does practically everything i want. i hardly play games, and when i do, its normally puzzle games. not cuck of duty 7

Marshmallow, and no, the battery is not removable
m.gsmarena.com/cat_s60-7928.php

android 6.0.1, its basically stock, other than the apps for the thermal camera, and a play store wrapper to make it easier for non tech people to find construction / farming related apps.

battery is "non removable" but im fine taking the phone appart if it needs replacing. (one website claims it is removable, but i think its in error, phones still on preorder)

If you're going that far out of your way to buy something expensive wouldn't you want at least something, you know, good?
I mean if it fits your use case that's great for you, woohoo
why the fuck you'd need a thermal camera on a smartphone is beyond me though

Caterpillar makes phones? What the fuck? And I thought finding Caterpillar brand socks was weird.

If you want a phone with good durability, might as well not cuck out 600$ but rather buy for example the blackview-bv5000. I am saying this as a Swede, cucks.

>work in security
>can take thermal photos of keypads after use

>do electrical stuff on the side
>want to see what componants are getting hot in troubleshooting

>do mechanical stuff and post on /diy/ at times... building a jet engine currently, can be useful for identifying weld leaks on flame tube, or problems in the oil system.

>use it at night in a google cardboard like headset because hurr durr durr night vision is cool

i mean, how do you NOT want a thermal camera on your phone...

Found the fag with buyers remorse.

Not OP but I would take lots of thermal images of my dick

think of how thermal imaging porn would look...

....right

Not really.
I don't understand why some fags on Sup Forums seem to think that everyone on this board is not happy with their purchase.
Fucking ridiculous.

(You)

>Thermal Camera
Have fun with your shitty resolution and slow camera shutter speed.

thermal camera is VGA resolution at the sensor.

optical camera is 1080 / 13mp.

it does image recognition to overlay the thermal over the video accurately, so it has good granularity and doesnt look like a blob.

>next question

>Sup Forums is one person

You may be right, but be honest with me, you do own a flagship smartphone® right?

>flagship and a good case

Ugliest shit ever.

The fuck is wrong with you stupid fucks.

What's wrong with autists like you?

How's CAT with software updates? Phone will last but for how long will it be supported?

Another thing I don't like is flat back and lenses that are leveled with it, way too easy to scratch even during normie usage.

well its running fairly stock android, so i assume its going to be updated regularly. wont know til i get there.

fingers crossed that its an unlocked bootloader, so i can AOSP / cyanogenmod it and move over the flir apk's if it doesnt get updates.

not just getting a Fluke-279 and then getting a phone that's actually good.

>spending retarded amounts of money on fluke shit

tell me more about your life user. i enjoy comedy

Take it further and also get dedicated dslr, so much better than built in phone camera.

Weird troll.
>non-removable battery
>six year lifespan
lol

because opening a phone is so hard...

my previous 'flagship' phone was a nexus 5, and i ended up replacing the screen twice, battery once, and micro usb once. these arent hard things to do user

>non-removable battery

Hardest thing ever

You don't need to spend a ton of money to get a tough phone

> what you think Sup Forumsentoomen?
Sounds exactly like this is only a good deal if you need a thermal camera, and that's only assuming the thermal camera works really well (I guess it would?)

Otherwise, a $180 Redmi Note 3 Pro basically beats this hands down, as far as I can tell.

Waterproof for 15 feets / up to 1 hour isn't useful. That basically really just means you can drop your phone in shallow water briefly, but you can actually do that with a great many phones.

What's more useful is if it can remain constantly submerged or survive rain as bad as it gets indefinitely or whatever.

>tfw seeing the phone I own on Sup Forums

you can use the screen with gloves, and when its wet... seeing as i am moving to seattle, and currently ride a motorcycle, these things are important.

also, the redmi doesnt have NFC... and its android 5.0. but yes, specs are fairly similar.

but... its not out yet...

I'm european, though? It's already selling here for about 750 euro without contract.

Granted, it's hard to find and quite expensive, but that's not the point.

???

BUYING PHONE FROM A CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT COMPANY

just buy a $10 nokia if you want le rugged phone xd you stupid shit

This makes me wonder who actually built the damn things.

>not a B100

oh, how do you like it?
biggest annoyance?

It's pretty hot.

10/10

A broken screen a back (gs7) after dropping it once looks so much better amirite?

Who the fuck chooses a phone based on looks? Do people really value form over function these days? What the phone looks like is at the absolute bottom of my list of priorities when looking for a phone, given its ergonomical.

> seeing as i am moving to seattle
Looks like you will have ~15% less precipitation per year than we do. Doesn't sound too problematic...? And yea, I'm outside quite often too.

That said, I guess that's an okay feature if it didn't come at the cost of input precision.

> the redmi doesnt have NFC
Haven't even once thought that I wanted to use NFC even when I had it.

it drizzles so theres not much rainfall but its almost constant

i also have an nfc chip in my hand, so its a feature i would like to have

...

I just did a free "upgrade" to an S7 Edge and it's coming in the mail, but now after looking at all the specs I now realize it's the ultimate "fuck you" phone basically designed to break and fail.

>no removable battery
>repair-unfriendly glue design
>"edge" feature means the expensive curved glass screen goes out to the edge so you'll flipfondle it into faceplanting on the concrete OR just bang it on something so it cracks
>glass is purportedly not replaceable independently of the screen

I bought a super heavy duty case and a protector for it so I won't get fucked, hopefully, but man I bet the Samshit execs are laughing their asses off about passing off this planned breakage/obsolescence fuckup waiting to happen as an "upgrade." It really is designed to fail.

Try living here for 25 years and realise we don't want you faggots here. Weather is fine 80% of the year

Normal phones are rain proof you fag. No need for a waterproof phone. Heck, I use my Opo in the shower, just not holding it under the beam.

The thermal camera would be the only reason to buy this, but then you would probably be better off buying a real one.
Why are thermal cameras still so expensive?

ob du behundert bist?

>not an actual picture

0/10 scam alert

They were making phones more than 2 years from now

> wants it to last 6 years
> battery is non removable

There is no such thing as a non removable battery

Normie non replaceable battery should be the term.

You sound so fucking pathetic

I kinda want it.
I just wish I could put something other than shitdroid on phones. Like let's say a linux distro.

isn't there some mobile ubuntu version you can just flash on most android phones?

This

You're such a stupid fucking dumbass OP. You should of got an iPhone 7©, or a Samsung© Note© S7©, or a Nexus 6©, or a Oneplus© 3©

I mean come on, do you really think that a phone made by anyone other than Apple, Samsung, Oneplus, Huawei, LG, or HTC will work out at all? Don't you know they have all the good phone patents, and makers in the world?

And all the girls are gonna think you're poor, and like to ride nigger cock! Old dirty bastard nigger cock! You don't ride nigger cock, now do you???

>720p Screen
Oy Vey! That's not 2600p. How are you even going to see anything on that screen? I'll be like looking at Minecraft© textures!

>3800 mAh Battery
The iPhone©'s 1000mAh battery is way better, it'll last you as whole quarter of a day! Isn't that amazing!

>32gb storage
>not using the cloud that magically saves everything you will ever need

>3GiB of ram
Slowpoke

>8 core
4 cores of placebo OP, the Samsung© S7© can beat this no name phone in every taste test.

>waterproof
Also women-proof

>thermal camera
Any phone can do that with a special camera filter on Instagram©, stupid!

Get #rekt ;^]

Shitposting aside, with generic phone OS' abound whats the advantage of an iphone or samsung over this?

Nothing

All the people itt shitposting about how this was a terrible purchase are just remorsing fags pissed because they decided to pick the popular option despite their being better things on the market for the same, or less, price.

Pathetic

at the start of the year i got a S5 for 300 dollaridoos, did i get cucked to death?
