Why do normies laugh about old hardware?

There are articles and YT videos dedicated to old hardware to laugh about and they act like it's the funniest shit ever.
It's just that time moved on, what's so funny about that?

>being this autistic

They can't understand because it was a time before they even learned to walk.
That being said
>giving shit about other's opinions
>on YT

It can be amusing to look back in time and look at the differences between today's standards and past practices/products. The same goes for medical knowledge and procedures, where we generally ridicule things that used to be common practice but are not actually objectively correct in hindsight. I think this is a type of behaviour that keeps us interested in continuous improvement and development. By looking back we measure our progress and set goals for the future. Just an idea though.

You'll find endless examples of stupid. Stop caring when it won't ever affect anything that matters.

Normies don't get computers, up to this very day.

It's only supposed to post their food picture to all of their friends streams, why is it taking 2 seconds?! So lame.

they laugh about anything that has "top 10 funniest" in the title.

scratch that, they laugh about anything they're being told to laugh about on yt

Well, at least there is a component of "yea, I could obviously do this better!" or "how the fuck didn't it become evident that THIS didn't help in a year or two at most?!" in a lot of medical knowledge.

Try doing that for computer hardware. Even old hardware is most often pretty clever.

Normies are massive cucks. That's why you should cuck them harder because they're wagecucks who get cucked by money taken out to pay for my earned NEETbux

I cringed

Are you going to give examples?

>yfw using XP and I see people shittalking everywhere
>they think it constantly gives out errors and bluescreens
>and that my bank info is being stolen by russian hackers

Too bad - I've been running the same installation for almost a decade now, and I have not encountered ANY errors in ages. Bluescreens? None. My money. (Yes, despite being an XP user I actually have money I'd rather spend on something else) Safe.

For the record, I don't run an antivirus in a background that just sucks up my resources - I scan bimonthly with MBAM and ComboFix just in case...and I have no infections.

there are tons of disgusting forms of entertainment, like mentions, they will laugh about anything

hasn't it ever occurred to you that all of those ridiculous videos actually had as many people watch them as they do?
>10 fun-ie-est epeic mohments
>1,000,000 views

same with celebrity entertainment, television, current video games, and the kind of bands that Sup Forums listens to - there are people that are actually dumb enough to enjoy these things, or pretend to enjoy them for the sake of being more pretentious than the next guy

its best to just ignore everything on the internet besides BBC.com and Sup Forums

Of course you cringed wagie. Now get back to work, mister noseberg wants that new private jet

>and I have no infections.
Keep believing that.

good

fyi i've had a rat on your pc for the past decade now, I just like to watch your digital activities. i don't want to harm you financially or anything

Yeah man...I understand.

That logo project sure took a long time.

>tfw fell for the 10 MB disk meme

Found the triggered wagecuck. Get back to work, my steam games won't pay for themselves. I bet you enjoy it too, you cuck.

what is funny is you have the same mindset of every other supposed neet that is free from wagedom

if you were truly free, you wouldn't even play video games. you would get into shape, actually learn something or a trade, practice social skills, be involved with some kind of movement

instead, you jack off, play games on steam all day, and you "learn" japanese so you can read your shitty toon porn.
and believe me, i've met people that were actually on unemployment before and they told me about how much it sucked, you're counting every nickel and penny and have nowhere to go

>and have nowhere to go
>wanting to go places
Why would anyone ever want to do that?

>its best to just ignore everything on the internet besides BBC.com and Sup Forums
>BBC

what.
are you fucking serious

I am. I'm learning programming in my spare time for free and will challenge the brightest minds of today. I'm truly free, you don't need a job in 2016, all that will be automated and everyone will be a NEET. You on the other hand are a slave. You enslave yourself to wages and you let society define you by still using society to justify yourself. Free yourself by uncucking yourself.

name another news source that is as close to the (usually) unbiased perspective of the BBC

>inb4 rttoday or jazeera

post more like this

the best source is (you) when you inform yourself over many outlets and then find the middle of that mess which is usually close to the truth

>BBC
>unbiased

Holy shit haha.

name an unbiased source then, I'm open to suggestions

the BBC has always had a steadfast liberal agenda, the fact you cant see this makes you deluded

they also harboured peadophiles in the 70s and 80s, but thats another story

youtube.com/watch?v=PF7EpEnglgk

three now, okay, I am more than willing to accept that I am wrong - what is a truly unbiased news source though?

I'm in the US, and I certainly do not consider anything that comes out of here as unbiased. I do not even watch television, or have cable.

some say reuters/associated press is unbiased, however im sure there are some who would disagree

they were founded on the principle of just delivering the facts without all the bullshit though, so theyre probably your best bet

the thing is, you probably won't find one really unbiased one. you have to synthesize "your own truth" with all the information you learned. it's the price you have to pay nowadays. using only one source is the lazy way.

fuck no.
ain't clickin dat shit nigga

It's cute and quaint, user. Even on Sup Forums you often see that comparison of an old HDD with a modern micro-SD card with 10,000x the capacity.

>frickin' normies have no sense of humor, they're told what to laugh at like sheeple.
>I, however, fap to Indonesian comic books and cartoons all day, like a freethinking intellectual who don't need no roastie whore.

>there are people that are actually dumb enough to enjoy these things, or pretend to enjoy them for the sake of being nore pretentious than the next guy
You just described most of Sup Forums, including yourself and the guy above.

>Normies cucks cuck wagecucks cucked NEETbux
>cringed wagie noseberg
>triggered wagecuck cuck
>NEET slave enslave wages uncucking

Why do you post your opinion in the form of a rhetorical question on a mongolian puppet forum?

10MB for less than $4000 in such a small Winchester disk? And I can use it with CP/M, I don't even need a PDP/10? Wow. Can you even imagine how many 8-inch single-density floppy disks you could fit on that thing? Remarkable how technology marches on.

Face it: you're getting old.

Breitbart :^)

very underrated

>complain about a news source with a liberal bias
>replace it with a news source with a conservative bias
Two wrongs don't make it right. Either browse both or choose an unbiased source.

>look mom I said it again!

everything is biased. there is no such thing as objectivity, only the pretense of it

thanks guys, I did a little searching myself and found wikinews too

now i have wikinews, ap, reuters, and bbc bookmarked

>reuters/associated press is unbiased
>they were founded on the principle of just delivering the facts without all the bullshit though
hahaha, they are like the official news agencies of the US government. they ALWAYS enforce a very US-friendly narrative

>im sure there are some who would disagree
well, at least you have some critical thoughts...

>tfw a lot of consumer tech stopped being good
>tfw now it's all just looks over functionality

I find myself wishing I had an old device, just updated with better hardware so often.
Like I can discard my phone and get some new flagship one but in doing so I will lose so many nice features.

I wonder if we will look back to this moment and say, "what the fuck were we thinking, using a computer without a keyboard or cable inputs".

I think it's funny but only because of the comparisons. Things like memory cost is funny to me because I can actually remember a time when a 2GB memory stick was considered decently sized and would cost you upwards of 40-60 bucks, and just the other day I was at OfficeMax and they had a jar of 4GB drives at the front for 10 bucks a pop. They were in a candy jar like you would find Fireballs in or something, no protective case, no theft tag, nothing. They were an impulse buy, something you would pick up on a whim. That shit is funny to me. Not like, HA-HA! funny like a kid falling down the stairs, but "neat" funny, like watching a deer go fucking bananas on a salt lick. There's nothing really funny about it but it's at least minutely absurd even if it's entirely subjective, like most humor is.

>he doesn't use a normal-sized android running kitkat and a t430

lol

>liberal agenda
stop

I'm using an HTC Desire HD with Froyo.

Even more so: I have some 10TB hard disks which are smaller. One million times the capacity.

It's kind of hard to fathom how we used to get so much done with so little, but we accepted so many more limitations then.

I've thought back about what we could do if one could time-travel back to, say, 1985 with knowledge of today's technology but none of the actual tech. See if we really learned a lot since then. I have to admit that at best I'd have come up with something rather like a cross between the Acorn Archimedes and the Commodore Amiga (I say this even having had an Atari ST at the time). I'd probably plump for a dual core 32-bit RISC-V with some kind of memory compression in the DMA/MMU glue. Ring bus? Hard disks would have been way too expensive for a home computer, but maybe SCSI Bernoulli discs, like the LS-120 or the iomega zip drive (without the dreaded click of death)? DIMMs instead of SIMMs or soldered RAM? Would have really been stretching the limits back then.

I've got to admire Terry Davis for his crazy vision of going back to the roots there with TempleOS, even if he is literally crazy.

>Not like, HA-HA! funny like a kid falling down the stairs
You think a kid falling down the stairs is funny? sick fuck

People who made that old stuff were smarter and knew way more things that are still applicable today than what all those normalfags will ever know and accomplish in their lives. By laughing at those people, normalfags are compensating for their insecurities. To feel superior, they hide behind improvements they had nothing to do with as if it's their own doing.
>look all those nasa people using huge ctr screens. lol! they were so stupid. meanwhile i use flat screens on my normiephone. haha i'm so above all those.
This is usually what implicitly happens in their brains even if they don't quite realize.

you forgot how they love to brag about how their iphone would have taken them to mars in the 70's with all that computing power

LOL DUUUUUUDE! A LAPTOP FROM 1980 HAD 5MBS OF RAM LOOOOOLL XDDDD
