Is it worth it to have a Facebook? I got rid of mine ages ago and to be honest I've become very isolated. Its only lately started bothering me..
I find it hard to join again when Zuckerjew called users Dumbfucks

Why do you feel the need to report your daily activities into a public database?
I have never had an account. Also can't really understand why people would want one.
Don't care what other people do.
What I'm doing is none of their business.
Only reason I even have a facebook at this point is to expedite the process to login or sign up for things such as spotify and other applications.
I usually talk to people on my TS server I host, text message, phone call, or my most preferred way in person.
I don't care if I don't have a wall with 1000 fake friends, I talk to people I like talking to which is a lot less than 1000.
Simple fix, don't have 1000 fake friends
on your facebook faggot
Literally the only reason I used facebook was to try and git pussy , since every single attempt failed miserably I only go back every now and then and every single time its as depressing as it used to be.
Its like twitter but only the self obsessed attention hogs. Its a cesspool where different and potentially hurtful ideas are rejected and replaced by likes.
Zukerberg is a genius for getting every idiot on the planet to willingly make him money.
>facebook in 2016
Its only good use is to follow meme pages like "It was My Privilege 2", instantly logins and easy messaging to friends.
The social group aspect is fucking shit. Its all ads and clickbait cancer
I mainly want to make one and use it just to reconnect with old friends. Why must Facebook data mine me to death???
>I got rid of mine ages ago and to be honest I've become very isolated.
How about you actually meet people outside of your cave you fucking dumbass?
In addition, you don't need Faceshit to communicate digitally. There's e-mail, skype/jistsi/whatever, chat rooms, IRC, etc. etc. etc.
So any idiot arguing they need Facebook for long-distance communication is basically that, a moronic idiot.
I have Facebook, but I am very isolated anyway. Not because I have a hard time with people, but because there is stuff I wanna learn and get better at.
What I mean to say is it might not because they can't, but maybe because they just don't want to.
Whatever you are learning and want to get better at has conventions, groups, meeting, and congregation.
You can go outside of your cave, meet fellow learners, and expand more on your knowledge through socializing and exchanging experience and application,
yoooouuuuuuuuuuuuuu fucking retard.
I do this. But it's not every day these things happen.
My goal is to get really good at the things I want to do. So, most of my free time is spent doing those things rather than pretending I need to always do something with someone.
That can come later, when I have more time to actually spend with people.
I have one, I never post anything nor chat at all.
I mostly make it look good for employers, have some links to my websites and pretty much creep on girls I liked in High school.
Facebook is great if you are bored with porn.
So long as you do it, then you don't need fucking Facebook.
Even socializing once a week with friends and acquaintances is fucking normal and not out of the ordinary.
You don't need a fucking Facebook which reduces socializing with people to a chore and constant reiteration of the same fucking shit because all parties used up their talking points due to overly frequent digital communication.
Socialization at a too frequent rate is also cancerous. You end up with people being reduced to memeing and fucking cancerous roleplaying because they have exhausted all talking points.
The best socializing is one that is neither too frequent nor too infrequent, where you maintain relations and also always have something to talk about because of the in-between-period.
Exactly..!
Facebook can be nice, but a lot of the time it is just meaningless and mechanical. Almost like you owe someone attention, and are compelled to do so out of obligation. (It's not always like this, but it can become that way depending on who you know)
If that is the only reason you are talking with people on Facebook, the fact that someone becomes more isolated because they got rid of it doesn't really mean that there is a problem.
Basically, while it's not really a good idea to be a hermit, there are good reasons to keep to yourself, and getting rid of meaningless cruft that bogs you down doesn't really mean there is a problem.
No. And I won't buy any phone with it pre installed that can't be rooted. Facebook is only slightly less buttnet than Windows 10, but pretty close. Even with location services off it tracks you.
I don't have any info on Facebook outside of a few old pictures, and posts i made years ago. I use pidgin to chat so I never have to actually log onto the website.
I haven't "checked my Facebook" in years despite using the messaging service daily.
I deleted mine a while ago. Made another because it was how a local club announced meetups and shit, and it wasn't a public group or page (stupid). Quit the club and deleted FB again because I absolutely fucking hate every aspect of "social media" and do not support greedy organizations.
This. Why does that thing exists? If I want to chat with a friend, I just call them.
>isolated
do you live in a house by yourself and never leave?
i remember checking the website way back and you could only be added by invite, and it was only college people
then it was mildly popular and you could find people you haven't seen in a while and get their personal photos with a bit of URL tinkering
then it became a great place to get photos of lolis in their bikinis
i don't see much use for it now other than the latter
good goy
I personally kinda need it since a lot of event organizing and stuff related to my hobbies are done there. Also, it's pretty popular for messaging, though you can now use your phone number with Facebook Messenger instead of an account.
I opened a Facebook a couple months back because I was feeling isolated myself. After just a few days, I remembered exactly why I dislike most of my family and I'm no longer friends with all the people that wanted to add me on Facebook.
I deleted it a few days later after reading about all of Facebooks tracking bullshit and their plans to force advertising on people using adblockers.
