So I finally ditched Gmail for email, but what do I use for calendar and tasks?

Gmail.

Pray tell, what email provider replaced Gmail?

icloud

>he fell for the "no botnet" meme

protonmail

vivaldi

>email
Outlook.com
>calendar
Physical calendar
>tasks
Physical paper
>telephone
non-smartphone cell phone
>social media
Facebook
>video calls

>storage
Local hard drive
>text messages

>Outlook.com

So Google is not fine, but Facebook and Microsoft are

>video calls
>none
May as well use Skype if Outlook is fine for e-mail

>using physical over digital

Fuck off and die.

Inbox

Thunderbird :^)

>Facebook

This is some tasty bait.

I use emacs for everything

>mozilla products
>mfw

Fucking hell, is there any decent and free calendar provider besides Google?

Microsoft

I just use scrap paper and put important upcoming stuff in the inward-facing bit of the ID part of my wallet.

kek

No but seriously, besides Google, Microsoft, Yahoo.
I know Apple does that too but I don't have an Apple device.

>getting baited this hard

Is Todoist any good?
Their video presentation is the faggiest thing ever.

How about Any.do?

Fuck, why do all these companies look like the same hipsters just with a different name?
Startup "culture" is retarded. Burn San Francisco to the ground.

microsoft/apple products. They are sold instead of selling your information.

Both Apple and Microsoft's cloud bullshit is free as in you are the product.

Microsoft and Apple's cloud suite are shit. Consider them without one. The only prevailing reality is Google.

...

The latest outlook on el kapitan using vmware.

/facepalm

I too would like to dump gmail and try something different. Have any suggestions?

Does vivaldi keep bookmarks up to date between browsers?

No, they are not good and are also no substitute for a calendar.

Wiki has a bit about PIM.

Whatever you do, avoid Kontakt like the plague. Akonadi goes regularly berserk, Kmail2 is apparently in actual fact a file shredder and the KDE crew just went off into the weeds huffing.

Also they will be very, very, very angry if you tel them that it is garbage.

Just like David Allen said.

"Don't be a faggot, use a simple physical calendar and get shit done."

GTD user, use the simplest tools to be more productive. Technology exists to serve us not to enslave us.

>"Don't be a faggot, use a simple physical calendar and get shit done."
Lets say I meet someone and we decide to go for drinks next Wednesday at 8. Should I take out my clay tablet, chisel the appointment, then add that to my calendar when I get home?

This is the current year. I want to be able to change my calendar on my phone and when I get home, not have to do anything because my calendar is not physical.

why do you want a calendar ? Can't you just make one ?

Your server ofc

>I just use scrap paper and put important upcoming stuff in the inward-facing bit of the ID part of my wallet.

I can recommend Todoist. It's not 10/10 but it's the best out there ad I know this because I've tried a lot and I have autism so I only look for perfection.
Their widget's nice which is a big plus

the bundled windows 10 apps work great

NO YOU DON'T
THEY HAD A MASSIVE DATA BREACH

You should either embrace the botnet and enjoy a seamless synced productive experience, or accept sub-par solutions for the sake of freedom

In this case, use a simple note app (I use mimi) to write down things as the come up then review them and add them to your physical calendar at the end of the day

too bad Office for mac doesn't have the right click menu
